Bleakwind Basin Mile-High Club (fatal sex)

Okay, for some reason, when I attempt to have sex in any outdoor location, I am teleported to 0,0 (Bleakwind Basin), about a mile in the air.  Once the sex is over, my partner and I fatally plummet to the ground,

What the hell.  Anything I can do to prevent that?

Well, it likely isn't Sexlab that does it. There were issues with this a few years ago, but I can't remember the solutions, if there were any. Try checking for out-of-date mods, conflicts in your load order, other such measures.

If you don't know how to use this tool, learn it. It can save tons of headaches.

I've never actually seen *both* actors teleport to the sky above 0,0 but very occasionally my PC will teleport there.  Usually I just open the console when it happens and let SL finish building the scene, so when I close the console window my PC teleports back to where they should be (and doesn't splat).  Since that's the location stuff shows up when it falls through the world, I assume it has something to do with SL having trouble with coordinates.

On another thread someone mentioned that you might be able to fix it simply by triggering a SL scene while indoors, at least temporarily.  No idea what the factors are that cause it to happen in the first place tho, and I've never had it happen many times in a row.

I've had this problem before,if a animation is trying to be used and its currently disable/not installed/suppressed it teleports you there i fixed it by rebuilding the animations registry.

I know TES5Edit VERY well, I've been using since the TES4Edit days.  Wouldn't know how to use it to solve something like this though.

Well, I do have several animations disabled... but the animations that do occur in the mile-high club are ones that do, in fact, work indoors.  I wonder if its certain specific animations that cause this though... I'll have to keep an eye on that.  In any event, I'll try a rebuild.

Turns out it happened to me the first time! :astonished:

At first I thought it was part of a new mod I was testing. But then it turns out any anim initiated outside does this suddenly. Defeat, Matchmaker, anything. Some things I noticed though:

  • Most humorously, it warps my character (or any other NPC if it's a more than one person anim) to Bleakwind Basin, then we fly waaaay up. And the anim proceeds as normal. Then after the anim is over, everybody falls to their doom. So it doesn't appear that it's due to a missing anim.
  • I have some earlier saves, where it seems to work as expected. But the only thing that happened script-wise between those saves (that I've been able to find) was a Death Alternative thing. Got knocked down and got up again. That was it. Dumb thing is, I'd been knocked down -prior- and the anims still worked. Not sure that's really the issue.
  • Resetting the anim registry does nothing.
  • Resetting Sexlab totally does nothing.

I've yet to be able to figure out a way to restore Sexlab anim functionality once the bug hits.

Kind of exciting really. (For me that is.) Without bugs and crashing Skyrim can be really boring.

UPDATE:

Well that was quick. I figured out a way to restore operation. Turns out, it's most likely NOT Sexlab at all.

Here was what I did:

  • Warped to an interior.
  • Initiate a new anim. (It goes a bit wonky.)
  • You will probably "die" for some reason.
  • Wake up.
  • Clean Defeat. (Using the 0 key and clean all.)
  • Reset Death Alternative (Utilities panel of DA.)

Functionality was returned after that.

Probably you don't need to warp into an interior, and I'm feeling dubious as to whether or not Death Alternative is involved either. My guess is Defeat got messed up somehow but I'm not even sure if Defeat is the real culprit. I had a companion with me and noticed after warping that her dialog was "...". That's a Defeat + Sanguine's issue that crops up from time to time. The fix there is cleaning up Defeat. So there's a good chance cleaning up Defeat will fix this for those with Sanguine's+Defeat+DA.

EDIT: OK, went back and repeated it mulitiple times. It appears, possibly Death Alternative is somehow involved. In my tests, I had to initiate an anim (which borks even in an interior), after which you get knocked out (depending on DA settings you may black out or just get up again) and THEN everything is back to normal.

The good news is that anims seem to work as expected after this strange procedure.

CANNOT UNSEE.

So this is a bug that's been around for awhile? I feel cheated I've only just now encountered it. It's so fun!

Aye, afaik it happens when a sexlab animation isn't finished properly (or possibly even failed to start properly but was somehow triggered). SL "remembers" that attempt and tries to play that animation, but is unable to do it because it's the wrong location, wrong number of actors, wrong... However, playing an animation successful (which includes borked indoor or even above the ground) to the end will fix it.

Playing one indoors will work sometimes but not always, not sure what's the point here. If you can't avoid teleportion above the ground you can just use godmode for yourself, if you want the NPC survives

- trigger sex

- when the animation started while flying, open console again and use tlc to make sure the NPC will survive, close console and wait until the animation ends

- open console, mark the actor you're going to fuck, close console

- walk down until you're close to ground lvl

- open console and type "moveto player" to teleport him to you, unmark the NPC and end tlc

My man Geras actually survived the fall. Sadly, the lady was never seen again.

There is a similar glitch where you can fall through the interior of a mountain.

And yes, it can be fun but it can also be very annoying. It shouldn't happen that often - maybe once or twice per play through, if that. The trick is having your wits about you in order to grab the screenie! (Come to think of it, that would make a fun thread).

Honestly the "technique" that has worked for me almost all times is opening console *immediately* after my PC teleports above the giant camp, before she even really starts falling very far.  Sexlab will still work to built the scene and a few lines will pop up in console.  Once the scene has finished building, closing console causes me to teleport back to my original location where the actual scene will start properly after a load screen.  If I don't do this, yes the scene will actually start mid-air ect.

Of course mileage may vary, it's possible the bug acts differently for different setups.  The bug happening is very rare in my current game.

Normally I consider this to be a harmless annoyance that can be worked through with little difficulty. Now that I've installed Random Sex, however, groups of NPCs will gather, strip down, and vanish. I assume it's the same issue, but I don't see any bodies upon visiting Bleakwind Basin.

This is a severe enough problem that I'll have to be disabling Random Sex until there's some sort of fix. I can handle my own fall and save (or resurrect) the NPC I'm with, but I can't always keep track of who disappears (and likely dies).
