Hey, hello !

Well, the skip option for the wait time in riften didn't appear for me :/ Anyway I can skip that without loading an ancient save, like through console commands or something like that ? (ancient save goes waaaaaaaaay back)

Thanks in advance !

"set timescale to 2000" -- punch something like that into the console, time will fly by, let a couple days pass -- unless you, when talking to the Riften captain, decided to wait for the investigation, without bribing or paying in some manner (in that case, you need to wait a week or two; set timescale to 20000 even)

"set timescale to 20" to return to Skyrim default.

Warning: modifying timescale breaks quests, bad for save. Don't use this for a playthrough you're planning to continue beyond the Thief quest mod.

If you want to be extra sure nothing breaks for this quest, I recommend just restarting the quest; retracing your steps to that point shouldn't take more than 10 minutes.

okay. Well, I'll just restart all then. What bothered me wasn't restarting the thief quest, it was rolling back a save 3+ hours before that. Thanks for the answer !

Ah, my bad. In that case, it would be worth the time it takes to do this method:

use console command "tfc", wait for 24 hours, wait for 24 hours, use "tfc," see if messenger comes to you. If not, repeat procedure, but wait for 24 hours 14 times now.

Using No Boring Sleep-Wait Menu would speed up the process.

Should be more stable. Sorry for just saying now!

Hey Everyone!

i have a problem with some animation, more specifically in two situation:

1.With the Elf at the candleheart inn, after the cunilligus scene on the chair, he ask you if he can do more practice with you and then a "69 sex animation" should start but it doesn't, and the two characters just stand like mannequins on the bed (pictire attached).

2.With the boy who challenges you to rock, paper and scissors, after you lose for two times, when he says that this time if you lose you will have to touch him, no animation start and as above, they stand still like mannequins.

It is as FNIS didn't register correctly those animations....could it be the BSA archive the problem?

Someone have some clue?

Other than that this is a great work! Very entertaining :D

Thans in advance!

disclaimer: I have yet to get these scenes to work myself, but that seems to be because the whole mod is bugged for me.

That being said, that pose is taken when Skyrim can't find the animation requested.

Does the scene ever end? Do the characters talk while standing like mannequins?

May be there was an error when running FNIS. Did FNIS give you any errors? (Don't worry about consistence check; it'll throw harmless errors because the animations for this mod are in a .bsa)

Edit: This error is in everyone's FNIS log for this mod; don't worry about it: [Reading dftMiscAnimation>>Warning: Animation file missing: OffsetBound.hkx<<]

Try rerunning FNIS; watch for any errors. If that doesn't work, try redownloading the mod; it may have become corrupt during download. Reinstall it and rerun FNIS.

Yes the scenes start and ends correctly, also the dialog and the expression work perfectly, the only problem is that they don't move....because, as you said, skyrim can't find the animation.

And no, FNIS doesn't give me any error (other than 2 consistence check).

I've re-run it several times but nothing change....

I think I'll try to reinstall the mod as you suggest and see if work.

I hope so! :P

Thanks a lot for the reply kstaps!

You're welcome; good luck!

If no luck there, some other things you can try:

-Make sure nothing is overwriting FNIS and its output.

-Are you using SOS/SOS Light/SAM? Make sure you have a compatible skeleton.

No luck there, either, then (a little time-consuming):

-Play mod til you get to one of the scenes you get stuck in, get to part where mannequins get stuck, open console, type "SA" (ShowAnim), look at what "animation" is "playing," write that down.

Use BSAOpt to unpack Thief .bsa (google STEP's BSAOpt/DDSOpt guide for how-to), look inside unpacked folders for animations (.hkx files,) see if you can find one matching what the SA console command printed to confirm the animation is in the .bsa, at least. If you really want to go all out, you could open that .hkx in the Creation Kit or a modeling program to confirm it's not corrupted.

TBH, I wouldn't recommend using this mod in any normal playthrough. I keep a save in Live Another Life cell with all mods customized and ready to go. From there I can just use the statue to start in Riften. Thief modifies some locations in ways I don't really like - it causes Riften Jail to crash when entering from the front, locks Whiterun inn room and New Gnisis club, then there's anything in Falkreath and the future content (Solitude and beyond). I also had an issue with a script that kept removing my ingredients and other types of items. I'd just make a new character or save for this mod unless 0.9 and 1.0 add elements to make keeping it worthwhile.

What version of FNIS Behavior are/did people run with this mod? 6.3? 7.0? 7.4.5? Etc.

I’m using the latest one. But it worked with other versions as well. FNIS was never a problem to me.

Ok before reinstalling it i have tryed that "SA" command thing.

i've started the 69 animation with the Elf, ofc they stand still like mannequins yet, then i've opened the console while the animation is supposed to play, and typed "SA" as you suggested, but nothing came out....it doesn't tell me what animation is plaiyng....nothing appears in the console, as if the animation isn't even installed....could it be that some animation are missing in the BSA archive?

I've also checked that nothing is overwriting FNIS and i have SOS installed with a compatible skeleton, so i guess the last thing to do is try to reinstall it.

Again thak you very much for the support :D

Edit: I've reinstalled the mod and switched from v. 0.8.1 to v. 0.8.2, run FNIS and this line came out:

Reading... dftCreature V0.8.2 ...
Reading... dftHuman V0.8.2 ...
Reading... dftMiscAnimation>>Warning: Missing AnimFile: OffsetBound.hkx<<
 V0.8.2  ( 9 furniture, 9 offset, 0 paired, 0 kill, 0 chair, 0 alternate animations) ...

What does that mean?

Edit 2: Tryed the v. 0.8.2..... a total mess for me....dialog do not shows up, often animation are skipped automatically, sometimes also freeze.....i think i'll stick again to the v. 0.8.1 and see what i can do...

Figured it out!

It was skyrim.ini. Specifically,

[BackgroundLoad]
bBackgroundLoadLipFiles=1
bLoadBackgroundFaceGen=1

these lines break this mod. I should not have had those useless lines in my ini to begin with, though... thought I had refreshed the inis.

To anyone else having intermittent halting or breaking of scenes, try resetting your skyrim.ini and skyrimprefs.ini. If you're using MO, make sure you reset the ones inside your MO profile.

Thank you for your help, Highborn! :)

Tried SA command myself; didn't work like I thought it did. Got no output myself. My bad there, friend.

That error is normal -- it's in everyone's FNIS log for this mod.

This is part recency bias, since it fixed my problems: have you tried testing this mod with reset skyrim and skyrimprefs inis? Could be worth a shot.

For .8.2: did you download the .8.2 from google drive? Or just one of brewmasterhal's .8.2 files?

Would you mind posting your mod list? Might help.

hey.i got a strange problem. when i defeat the dremora lord, at the scene that my character goes to collect the heart(after commenting of having to collect it from a burning body), screen goes black (scene changing-thats normal) and then i always get a ctd. Which is strange cause i experienced zero problems with this mod so far and i searched the forums here didnt see anyone else having the same issue. any ideas?

So I started this mod and must say it is pretty good and well done.

I just checked through the guide and I'm guessing that the player can't catch the thief/get her stuff back/finish the mod? Is this right? I'm guessing it's cos it's only ver 0.82...

the mod finishes after you defeat a certain boss in Falkreath, and yeah, the character still didn't catch the thief. But your stuff is automatically returned to your inventory after you finish the available progress. The author is still working on the mod.

Ok i'll try to reset my inis files and see if something changes.

Tryed and doesn't change anything, also i have discovered another animation that won't play; its the threesome with the two bandits after the chase scene.....they stand still like mannequins again.... plus when they tie me up after the sex scene i don't know how to escape....a bar appear at the bottom of the screen and i've tryed to escape with pressing any buttons but she don't move....

For the 0.8.2 version : i've download it first from mega, then from google drive but was a disaster, then i've installed the brewmasterhal's files that, from what i've got, it is supposed to fix some thing, but also didn't work so i've switched back to 0.8.1 that work well except for this (for now 3) animation that won't play...

Attached you can find my mod list, maybe i can try to start a new game but doubt that will fix it....

How to escape being tied up: press a and d back and forth on keyboard.

Quite a few mods you have, there. No obvious issues. If I was you I would try a load order with just this mod and its requirements, as well as Alternate Start and SkyUI for ease.

It's probably wise to not continue saves after completing this mod, anyways.

If you don't use it already, you could download Mod Organizer/Mod Organizer 2 and use that to load only this mod and its requirements, letting you keep your current installation in place.

If you do try that route, you can quickly test this mod by starting with Alternate Start, and using these console commands to jump to the scene with the hot springs boy:

startquest bd_mq
setstage bd_mq 120
coc eldergleamsanctuarystart

just turn around and exit the sanctuary after running the commands. Hot spring scene will be nearby, a bit to the right.

Did you try going into the MCM and deselecting the fade to black option? (It's a bit confusing; to apply the fix you have to deselect the option.)

Tryed to start a new game with only this mod + its requirements, same as before..... now i'll try with the 0.7 version, if it also does not work, i'll keep it as it is and "amen".

Also the 0.7 version didn't work, i think it is a problem with FNIS....

I was reading just now in the main FNIS's page on nexus, that it could give some problem with the cracked version of skyrim, problems like the one i have, where even if the animations are installed correctly, in game characters might assume the "mannequin" pose.

This is what he say:

("Animation Problems") After installing FNIS I suddenly have animations problems (stiff half-T pose, or other glitches). Why?
Principally, FNIS Behaviors correctly installed and generated (without patches) adds additional animations, and DOES NOT INFLUENCE OTHER ANIMATIONS IN ANY FORM! There are a numer of possible causes, which can make FNIS look like it is breaking animations:

  • You have ignored ERRORS or WARNINGS in your last generator run. Don't do this. They are there for some reason.
  • You are running a cracked Skyrim. In the past apparant cracks have shown symptoms I have not seen in Steam versions.
  • Your game cache is corrupted. Run Steam Verify Cache (The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim -> RMB -> Properties -> Local Files -> Verify Integrity Game Cache ...). Another reason not to use cracks.
  • You are running a custom skeleton which comes with a skeleton.nif only, and not a corresponding skeleton.hkx. Installing XP32 Maximum Skeleton Extended - XPMSE first usually should fix the problem.
