So bards still can only sing inside of taverns, I guess?

One of my most anticipated mods was one that could free bards from their restcricting behavior/AI of only being allowed to sing inside of a tavern --> 2012 for the first time I started to look for a mod that was capable of doing so - there were None. Over five years later I am wondering: Is it possible yet? I don't think so since every bard Follower has only been able to perform when he/she was inside of a Building (tavern or modified Player 'home'). Maybe I am just blind, though.

I'm wondering this, my self. I've always wanted a bard in my home. I'll do some Google searches and see if I can find anything good.

I was just looking at that, Lodakai. I don't like to add mods that are that old so I'm iffy and there is a serious lack of actual bard followers or having good ones in your house. How is this not a thing? I want a singing follower!

The Interesting NPCs mod (3DNPC) has an NPC follower named Amalee who is an aspiring bard.  If I remember correctly, after you do her personal quest she will sing her (original, i.e. not from the game) song and after that can then be requested to sing others.

You should make it : )

I wish...

Do you know if Interesting NPCs works well with Immersive Citizens?

You could always just have the Dragon-Born and their followers perform as bards after joining the Bard's College via the Become a Bard mod.

Oh, my gods... I can now play as Sir Robin the Brave and travel Skyrim with my band of merry minstrels! Thank you so much for this!!!

I've never tried Immersive Citizens, but I checked its website and found that its list of compatible mods includes Interesting NPCs, with the note that Interesting NPCs should be loaded before Immersive Citizens.

Awesome! Thanks for checking the website for me - I'm a little out of it today and it didn't even cross my mind to do that. O_o

I would highly recommend interesting npc's as well (3dNPC)

It is very detailed and the characters are truly memorable and bring a lot of life into the game..  there was another bard too I think.. Ange?  Voiced by the same actress that did Sofia. Christine Slagman.. with a few new songs.

If you like to talk to characters a lot... you will not regret it.   They ALL have extremely interesting backstories... not all of them involve quests or anything like that.. just interesting conversations, great acting, some truly inspiring followers.   Great call as a recommendation by PubliusNV.

ETA.. well there is ONE problem.  Of the ones that follow you.. it is hard to decide who to bring along ><  You want to bring them all!  Good replay value though

Yes, some of the followers are called (on the 3DNPC website) "super" followers because they have extra quests, story lines, and behaviors, others are more vanilla followers, all well voice acted and interesting (so the mod is not ill-named).  They range from a redguard former champion of the arena to a somewhat cowardly altmer mage who conjures his weapons to a bumbling nord who's more trouble than he's worth.  And many more.

I do! I hate quiet followers. That's why Inigo is my favorite. :D And yes, thanks again, PubliusNV for the suggestion!

For a bard in my home I've player.placeatme one of these ladies.

Something tells me that I'm going to become emotionally attached to these NPCs and really, really have a hard time choosing whom to take with me on my adventures.

As my contribution to the 3DNPC Appreciation Society I would add that the majority of the convos are insane hilarious. Some of the sarcasm is almost enough to restore my faith in human nature.

One note of caution: It's a big mod, over 250 NPCs, so lots of scripts. Cut back on any other script-heavy mods before going with 3D. You might want to think about creating a profile for it. :P:D

It occurs to me that I should mention that the Interesting NPCs mod on Nexus is only at version 3.2.  To get the complete 3.31 version, or an update from 3.2 to 3.31, you should go to 3dnpc.com, pull down the "Downloads" tab, and select the file you want to download.  There's also a wiki there that talks about the various followers and quests available.

I'm running Interesting NPCs, Inconsequential NPCs, Become a Bard and Immersive Citizens and they all play nicely together. Amalee is one of my all time favourite followers.

Just remember that NPCs are CPU intensive so around towns you may lose a lot of FPS.

There is a bear bard mod out there. Plays (I think) a Dick Dale tune. MXR vid #40

I may or may not have that mod installed and may or may not bring him out whenever I feel blue.

That's the one. The tune features in one of Tarantino's films I think.

My singer lady is nearly ready. We are just waiting for wardrobe and makeup.

I want my Dragonborn bard to stage an opera. Sung in Dragon-Tounge of course :)

Be careful what you wish for. I'm just waiting for the headgear and she's good to go.
