Constant crash to desktop before the Bethesda logo, even with mods disabled

Skyrim had been working fine all this while and yesterday i had just decided to install Holds: The city overhaul. Along with it, i installed enboost for the first time along with Ambriel and its accompanying mods. It had worked after i installed all that and i successfully played the game for an hour or so before going to sleep. However, this morning i decided to uninstall Ambriel and its associated mods through NMM.

I proceeded to launch skyrim after that and it immediately crashed to desktop after showing me a black screen. The bethesda logo did not have the chance to appear before it crashed. I ran loot again as well as TES5edit but neither worked. I even disabled all my mods and ran vanilla skyrim both with an without dlc, but it also did not work and proceeded to ctd after showing me a black screen for approximately 5/10 seconds.

When i checked the crash logs after crashing a few times, a few .log files came up with the same text:

The game indeed does still crash when i reinstall Ambriel. Also, she was in front of me in my save.

What mods are you on about here apart from Ambriel? We need names as its possible something else could be breaking your game.

I tried what you told me to do but unfortunately it did not fix the issue

Then load the game launcher again and let the game remake them. See if that has a effect.

Instant CTD before logo is almost always missing masterfile the reason.

If no mods are enabled, then you should have Steam check the local files.

Then load the game launcher again and let the game remake them. See if that has a effect.

Disable everything mod wise and verify the integrity of the game cache.

He didn't install an ENB, only ENboost and i wouldn't play a modded Skyrim without that. And since it still worked after installing it...

 

Still, it might be worth a try. If it works then again you know a setting in enblocal.ini was terribly wrong (or something else became very messy). But to me it sounds more like NMM deleted more than just the mods you wanted away. When it crashes even before loading a save, it hasn't anything to do with a broken save. I think you'll need to re-install Skyrim again. You might think about switching to MO instead of NMM, it has a better seperation of mod files vs game files than NMM. Might take a bit until you set up everything properly, though, in the beginning it's a bit complicated. But it's really only in the beginning.

But we have a few more things we can test first.
