I can't help but ask you a couple of small questions at this point. -How would you see the Thalmor and the Domain in the future? Are they defeated? Have they adapted too? -Are the gods still revered or are they forgotten in the face of technology? -Who would be the emperor in this era? -Who would be the High King? -Would the Nordic ruins become forgotten/forbidden places? -Would the dwemer ruins be outdated or still serve? All this in your headcanon rp of course. I think a future where magic had declined and dwemorcraft had been pushed to a cyber/steam-punk setting would be interesting. Can think of a scenario where magic started to decline after all the dragons were killed by the last dragon born and the blades. As magic decline, humanity would look for power in the dwemor ruins technology. Thalmor being like they are would of course try to hold on to magic and most likely decide to wipe out all other races to have what magic that remain for themselves. Thalmor empire would then face total destruction on battlefield trying to face off firearms, cannons and artillery with weakened magic, and since they treated other races rather heavy-handed while they were in power the other races would take the opportunity to crush the Thalmor empire for good. The descendants of the Thalmors would probably in time rice to economic power eventually, since they are so long-lived. 3

The biggest part comes from the Aldemri Domain. When you think that in the beginning, the altemrs weren't that aggressive, they were trying to educate and raise the humans. And that Tiber Septim with his thirst for conquest made them extremists. 1

What if the use of magic had reached such advanced and powerful levels that technology would respond in kind, or vice versa? It wouldn't be the first arms race in the history of Tamriel I figure.

Wheels of Lull does a pretty good job of a cyber/steam setting. Dwemertech is another good one. 1

I pretty much thought of Aldmeri Dominion as Thalmor since it was created by Thalmor elven supremacists. But I do not really think that change the fact that most none Thalmor dislike Thalmors because of their behavior toward other races. If the other races get an upper hand, Thalmors would be in for a bad time. And considering their treatment of other elves like bosmers, they might have to fight them too.
hana120 Posted February 14, 2022 Posted February 14, 2022 (edited) The hidden truth about the elves of the Domain We were told in the past that the altmers, the Domaine, were not aggressive. And they wanted to educate the humans. Lies, poppycock, salad! There is a truth that nobody knew! Spoiler The mission of the elves was above all to raise the women of men sexually! And the Thalmor have as a second mission, to steal and sleep with the women of others. The women cannot resist, out of fear but also out of pleasure, and let themselves be done.
