The entire premise behind your (and a lot of other peoples') annoyance with Turbo is unreasonable. People are and should be allowed breaks and vacations without harassment or demands. WW isn't required to play the Sims update. WW is not required for survival. The Sims 4 is not the only video game that exists. Video games are not the only source of entertainment that exists.

You've gone on about how people on Patreon are upset because Turbo blocked comments, but you're willingly ignoring the reason behind the blocked comments. A human isn't obligated to take abuse from people simply because they provide a service. Go to a restaurant and see how quickly you get escorted off the premises for harassing the chef.

I've played 6 other games and had fun building random houses in a non-WW Sims environment since the update. I've enjoyed time with friends away from the PC. I've been working. Distractions abound.

The Sims update was something that likely touched systems fundamental to the functionality of both versions of WW. The reason that mods that rely on WW could update are likely because they hook into WW, while WW hooks into the game code and would require Turbo spend more time fixing what's been broken. Turbo probably also needs to figure out what needs to be adjusted in (or flat out removed from) WW and what needs to be integrated with the new baseline content and how. The update will come when it comes.

Fortunately, the upset ones seem to just be a very loud, vocal minority.

He mentioned before the patch that he would be on holiday during the release of the new pack, so we would have to wait a bit. He also made a post on Patreon early this week that he would have an update for us later this week. That means an update will come this weekend, or the changes needed are so profound tat it will take a bit longer. If so, my guess Turbodriver will give us a headsup.

Also, I'm playing TS4 with WW (the public version) and it works quite well. I'm running with an otherwise rather light Mods folder, so you might want to try to see if the game will work with WW if you clean out your mods folder.

I have the expansion, MCC, NisaWP, WW and the game is playable. I also keep supporting the 3 on their patreon.
The CAS infinite loading is easy to solve: just remove modded traits (and preferences) from your sims.
There are a few bugs with some mods based on WW and WP like Good Time Girl, Alchemist and probably others. But the game is fully playable.
Understand that this expansion changed drastically the relation mechanism and the CAS, Turbo need to rethink his mod and if he manage to update it by the end of the week, it will a real big effort.

Once I've taken out all Mods that somehow alter personality and romance-interactions (SultrySims, AutonomyTweaks for example) and for some very weird reason the Simulation Timeline Unclogger, I was able to open CAS again - Besides the Error-Message of WW being outdated, I can still play relatively okayish

 

These are the ones that are currently still crashing my game, maybe you have some of these too!

J’avais sauvegardé mes maisons et mes Sims auparavant comme simple précaution.
J’ai fait les mises a jour EA y compris celles de correction de bugs dernièrement du 25-26-29 juillet 2024.
J’ai supprimé WW de mon jeu, mis à jour MCCC et mon jeu fonctionne.
Quelques sauts d’humeur en mode construction et dans CAS, car certaines pièces disparaissent et reviennent, certainement dû a certains mods non corrigés mais la tache est longue, pourtant j’ai fait un grand ménage.
Le CAS fonctionne bien sauf que certains vêtements changent de couleurs ou les Sims non plus celui défini auparavant.
Comme tout le monde j’attends avec impatience que WW revienne, car si je le laisse dans le jeu j’ai un message au début, mais il fonctionne sauf que j’ai remarqué que « les ados ne veulent plus faire crac crac même si dans WW l’autorisation est bien cochée et que le fichier :  TURBODRIVER_WickedWhims_InappropriateUnlock.package est dans mon jeu »

I removed WW from my game, updated MCCC and my game works.
A few mood swings in construction mode and in CAS, because certain parts disappear and come back, certainly due to certain uncorrected mods but the task is long, although I did a major cleaning.
The CAS works well except that some clothes change colors or the Sims no longer have the one previously defined.
Like everyone else I'm impatiently waiting for WW to come back, because if I leave it in the game I get a message at the beginning, but it works except that I noticed that "teenagers don't want to crack crack anymore even if in WW the authorization is checked and the file: TURBODRIVER_WickedWhims_InappropriateUnlock.package is in my game"

Thank you! I wondered why others could play with only LE's and i couldn't. Didn't find the culprit yet. Thanks to you, now it runs stable.  You made my day. 🙂

I saved in a seperate file and have a back up made from the save file before I started the game. I just play with ww because kritical released a new update on DoS and it's just more fun to play with ww. 😉

Does CAS still load? 

That's the problem for the majority of us. Someone here tested and showed that it was the Like system and custom traits from WW that would cause CAS never to load. 
All my mods are updated and I can play sims 4 normally, even use the animations from WW without issue, it's just CAS is the issue.

I lost my whole mod folder and all copy’s I have since 2015 due broken mods I tried to ignore. My whole gameplay broke to insanity! All expansions weren’t playable everything looked like a blue/purple LSD trip, I had to delete all trays and saves that ever came in contact with WW and other mods that use WW. Do it like me: build family’s & houses and play an innocent dating story line with a girl who’s keeping her virginity to marriage…and when turbo did his magic…ohhhh she’s not innocent! 😂

Or work yourself to all sims in the world and customise them so you don’t have non-matching-cc-trash running around. Be patient! It ain’t that hard! But pls take WW and everything out of your folder! You could fuck you’r whole save up!

A lot of people are so unreasonable, oh my god. I'm eagerly waiting for the update too, but what I do is check every so often if it's out, that's it! Complaining, harassing or sending threats isn't going to make the update magically appear. Turbo is working on it, and if it's taking longer it's either because they don't have much free time, it's a more complicated one or burnout - which in case acting awful is just going to make it worse. Just wait, damn.

Now, changing the subject: a lot of people have been saying they can play normally and all that happens are getting one or another LE. I tested my game and that's my case too, but I'm scared to use it... can LEs be dangerous? Or is it fine as long as you delete them afterwards?

Depends which area of gameplay LE affects/comes from. With WW, I had few jumpbugs and CAS Freezing on me(which lead me to kill the game through taskmanager).

Its kinda ridiculous that Maxis basically releasing a DLC stealing some WW Features but just make them worse. I hope you can disable the DLC Features with this Mod and let the Mod overwrite it.

Lol to people thinking EA purposely targeting modders with game-breaking updates; they're careless corporate clowns that don't care either way, all they care about is making as much $$$ possible hence the constant stream of crappy EPs with all of the unfortunate bug-inducing updates in consequence. That being said I do believe they're not aware of how dead this game would be without mods. If it weren't for mods The Sims 4 wouldn't be nearly as popular as it is. 

 

Wicked Whims isn't the only big mod suffering here. If I were him (Turbofriver) I'd just shut off all socials and enjoy the rest of my vacation. If people did actually dox and/or threaten him they should not only be banned and blocked, but I really think people like that are criminals and they should be reported and punished. Seriously people can wait, and people are. In addition to WW there are a couple other big mods I'm still waiting on updates for since this latest update really screwed things up (no surprise there), so there's a lot of things to fix. In the meantime I'm just doing what I usually do in the Sims 4 - working on another big building project. People should just be patient and occupy themselves with other games or activities while waiting for the modders to catch up. A couple bad apples on his patreon aren't representative of the entire community. The person(s) who allegedly doxxed or threatened him are rotten human-beings and most appreciative simmers do not support that kind of inexcusable behavior. 

 

Really its like people forget how good he has been at updating WW in a timely manner, and perhaps that has unfortunately fed into the hateful and entitled behavior we see from people complaining about his vacation. People shouldn't have to plan their literal lives around EA's capricious money-grubbing updates; I don't care how much donations they're raking in monthly from their patreons.

I sometimes get LEs from random stuff that have nothing to do with finicky mods. I had 7 sims try to 'grab a serving' at the exact same time and it caused an LE. I think most of the time they're nothing to worry about. I usually just chalk it up to EA's notorious incompetence at properly testing their crap before releasing it.

When a major developer releases a DLC that includes a large chunk of the features from your flagship add-on, you generally take that as a huge complement. Even if that DLC is a untested dumpster fire of unstable code, which is honestly, pretty typical EA.

 

But I think Lovestruck co-opted more from Wonderful Whims than Wicked (I know there's some feature overlap between the two). I've never run Wonderful, but if I understand correctly Wonderful is sort of the toned-down, no-sex, 'kiddie' version of Wicked, which also happens to be what Lovestruck is. Which is why I'm curious now if Wonderful is on the chopping block. I think it's funny that on EA's 'patch 1.108 semi-official' list of broken/updated mods', they have Wonderful listed, but they do not acknowledge that Wicked even exists. I get why, I just think it's funny...
