A lot of people are so unreasonable, oh my god. I'm eagerly waiting for the update too, but what I do is check every so often if it's out, that's it! Complaining, harassing or sending threats isn't going to make the update magically appear. Turbo is working on it, and if it's taking longer it's either because they don't have much free time, it's a more complicated one or burnout - which in case acting awful is just going to make it worse. Just wait, damn.

Now, changing the subject: a lot of people have been saying they can play normally and all that happens are getting one or another LE. I tested my game and that's my case too, but I'm scared to use it... can LEs be dangerous? Or is it fine as long as you delete them afterwards?

Depends which area of gameplay LE affects/comes from. With WW, I had few jumpbugs and CAS Freezing on me(which lead me to kill the game through taskmanager).

Its kinda ridiculous that Maxis basically releasing a DLC stealing some WW Features but just make them worse. I hope you can disable the DLC Features with this Mod and let the Mod overwrite it.

Lol to people thinking EA purposely targeting modders with game-breaking updates; they're careless corporate clowns that don't care either way, all they care about is making as much $$$ possible hence the constant stream of crappy EPs with all of the unfortunate bug-inducing updates in consequence. That being said I do believe they're not aware of how dead this game would be without mods. If it weren't for mods The Sims 4 wouldn't be nearly as popular as it is. 

 

Wicked Whims isn't the only big mod suffering here. If I were him (Turbofriver) I'd just shut off all socials and enjoy the rest of my vacation. If people did actually dox and/or threaten him they should not only be banned and blocked, but I really think people like that are criminals and they should be reported and punished. Seriously people can wait, and people are. In addition to WW there are a couple other big mods I'm still waiting on updates for since this latest update really screwed things up (no surprise there), so there's a lot of things to fix. In the meantime I'm just doing what I usually do in the Sims 4 - working on another big building project. People should just be patient and occupy themselves with other games or activities while waiting for the modders to catch up. A couple bad apples on his patreon aren't representative of the entire community. The person(s) who allegedly doxxed or threatened him are rotten human-beings and most appreciative simmers do not support that kind of inexcusable behavior. 

 

Really its like people forget how good he has been at updating WW in a timely manner, and perhaps that has unfortunately fed into the hateful and entitled behavior we see from people complaining about his vacation. People shouldn't have to plan their literal lives around EA's capricious money-grubbing updates; I don't care how much donations they're raking in monthly from their patreons.

"I should have an update this week" key word SHOULD but he won't since his summer vacation is another month before he has to go back to high school

Here's an idea; Why don't you whine about it some more? Maybe that'll help. Better yet, you should definitely keep on trolling a forum where literally everyone else thinks you're acting like a petulant three year-old who's mommy won't buy you candy.

 

If you believe Turbo's telling his patrons to "fuck off", maybe you should take his suggestion and do exactly that. Don't go away mad, just go away.

I sometimes get LEs from random stuff that have nothing to do with finicky mods. I had 7 sims try to 'grab a serving' at the exact same time and it caused an LE. I think most of the time they're nothing to worry about. I usually just chalk it up to EA's notorious incompetence at properly testing their crap before releasing it.

When a major developer releases a DLC that includes a large chunk of the features from your flagship add-on, you generally take that as a huge complement. Even if that DLC is a untested dumpster fire of unstable code, which is honestly, pretty typical EA.

 

But I think Lovestruck co-opted more from Wonderful Whims than Wicked (I know there's some feature overlap between the two). I've never run Wonderful, but if I understand correctly Wonderful is sort of the toned-down, no-sex, 'kiddie' version of Wicked, which also happens to be what Lovestruck is. Which is why I'm curious now if Wonderful is on the chopping block. I think it's funny that on EA's 'patch 1.108 semi-official' list of broken/updated mods', they have Wonderful listed, but they do not acknowledge that Wicked even exists. I get why, I just think it's funny...

It is always a good idea to place the EA launcher in OFFLINE mode OR use firewall rules BEFORE an update is issued. I am still on 1.107 and it will stay that way until I am satisfied that all mods are current with the newest release. You would think by now that most simmers would prepare for this in advance. This is certainly not the first time that an EA patch broke a bunch of mods and I can say with confidence that it will not be the last. 

 

Thank you TURBO for all of your hard work! I would prefer that you to take your time with the update rather than rushing a patch out the door to appease the ungrateful. Quality is always better than quantity. The vitriol I've seen in these forums does nothing to make this situation any better, know that your work is highly valued and appreciated.

I am of the same opinion Turbodriver owes you nothing and already does a lot for its community it absolutely does not deserve all this relentlessness it is completely crazy to threaten someone just because it takes its time to make an impeccable update and you should really be ashamed of your behavior. Thanks to Turbodriver for his hard work, he really deserves the best!

I'm of the opinion that I love Turbo (platonically) and I'll wait as long as I need to for an update. Even if that update doesn't happen by the end of the week, I have other games and hobbies, I have reading to catch up on, and obligations to fulfill. Hell, I even went outside the other day! 😄

So my game is still running with WW kinda fine. Getting an error at first, cant use CAS, otherwise its fine. I can play, my sims can woohoo. Its fine. I think.

 

But Ive been wondering. Until the update comes, is there a way to remove WW, use CAS and not lose wicked attributes? Because thats my only concern right now. If they get removed when taking out WW, they are abit of a pain to restore for an entire household that has individual combinations of those.

 

Or is there a way to preserve them and get access to CAS at the same time?

 

Anyone know a way?

I believe they're saved in your wickedwhimssettings so they should be fine and go right back to the right sims whenever you add the mod back in, given you haven't deleted any of them. Should have an option to export your settings as well in game.

Thank you so much! I did have Little_Sam_RSM_BG_AutonomyTeaks package installed. I removed it and also removed Sex Addict aspiration. I was able to edit my sim in CAS!!!
We need to be careful thought. Indeed, I used MCCC -> Modify Household in CAS to edit one of my sims. The other sim from the household was showing as well. So, I wanted to edit that one too and I had a bug.  Indeed, when I finished, both sims ended having the same name and gender. So, I guess MCCC should be updated too. (They did an update but I guess they missed something)

@TURBODRIVER : your mod is not the biggest issue here. Of course, there are things you may update, but do not go crazy. We are with you! (Sorry about my Spanglish)

Hello, the like/dislike system and WW traits, Likes/ Dislikes from WW are counted as traits for some reason. 

I found that your able to use CAS as long as the household doesn't have any WW traits

I tested several times with that specific household to even figure out that it is WW thats causing the bug where the first sim can be edited but selecting any other sim transfers the name, traits and pretty much everything from the upper left menu to that other sim. I havent edited that household since the patch to avoid issues.

 

The thing is in my testing I saw a notification that something got removed when entering CAS after removing WW.

 

I tested with another household of a single sim which doesnt seem to have that issue because there is no other sim that could gain the stuff from the first sim. So this bug is only affecting any household with two or more sims. I think.

 

Thats why Im trying to find a workaround to edit my sims without having WW installed and not lose the attributes and like preferences. Alternatively I need to use many screenshots of those sims and later add everything again. And Im just not motivated to do all of that. But I can wait for now until there is an update.

As someone who avoided the drama so far I feel like I cant anymore. I would be devastated if this mod stops being updated because of some morons who throw a fit because Turbo dared to do something in RL for a few days during a patch day. That minority should be punished, not the innocent majority. Of course Turbo doesnt deserve this. He has done a great job with a mod thats kind of keeping a large portion of players in the game. We all owe him for enriching our game experience.

 

Also if WW dies, you know who would get A LOT of new customers? Yeah, not sure I feel happy about that. So WW dying wont have the effect you think.

I will gladly wait until the first Maxis patch following Lovestruck and then the following WW release as the simming aspect is so clusterfucked as this point. No mods. Just playing with Build Mode which is something I haven't done in forever.  Instead of adding someone else's work - build my own and add to my own gallery. Good opportunity to reset the damn dopamine levels.

Maybe thats why it takes along time for Turbo to release the update in order to find a workaround to make WW work with the new DLC
