PIE VS CAKE 2016

  1. 1. Where do you stand in this?

    • Pies are for homeless schmos in rail cars. Give me a multi-tiered cake anyday!
    • Who wants to eat a sofa cushion covered in frosting? Pie all day son.
    • Ladies please...don't argue. There is enough of me for both pie and cake. I don't discriminate.
    • You're an idiot and this is a stupid thread.

Isn't a cake supposed to be the same as a pie? Or am I missing out some linguistic subtleties here?

Where's the difference between an apple-cake or an apple-pie?

If I'm missing a serious meaning please, tell me. :P

cake and pie are totally different

Pie is almost always better. That description of a sofa cushion covered in frosting is completely accurate for most cakes, especially that supermarket-made crap. How people shovel that chalky, tasteless garbage down is beyond me. Pie is much harder to mess up like that. The only cake I'll eat is the high-quality, super-rich kind. You know, the kind that give you diabetes from staring at it too long, and that doesn't need an inch-thick layer of icing to make it palatable. But those cakes are few and far between, so pie all the way!

Pie probably...usually...most likely.

For dessert pie for sure. Savory pie is a thin line to walk, some fruit pies are also rather mediocre.

I am not going to say no to yellow cake however...

I don't have a sweet tooth... unless you mean the OTHER kind of cake and pie, in which case this should be in the adult section.

Well done sir, I was waiting for someone to go there. :D I was timing it, see how long it would take Loverslab to

say, "Pie eh? Winkwinknudgenudgesaynomore."

Im a cake man, and ill duel to the death anyone who disgraces them

Pleeeeaaaaase explain! If it's too explicit explain per PM, pretty please! I don't get the whole thing. :(

On topic:

I love cheese cake, and the stuff with a lot of cream on it, like butter-cream and cheese-cream, I don't like anything containing fresh fruits, excluding apple-pie with vanillapudding as a topping and lots of cinnamon. :P I also don't like dry cakes. They're just... too dry for my taste.

And I still feel like I'm getting the whole thing terribly wrong here. :s

Nah you got it fine, its just a simple thread for goofs. I thought things were getting a little too serious around here.

And cheesecake is probably the only form of cake I can tolerate. I don't like the mouth feel of cake, it feels like chewing

on a sofa cushion to me. The winkwinknudgenudge is Monty Python. I'm old I make obscure references.

You're only slightly older than me, so that's no excuse. :P

GimmeBACON thankfully enlightened me on the 'other' meaning of the question. And as for that one it's NEITHER of both.

Pie,you know... creampie? cherry pie? that ones common in America. Cakes came from slang people used where I came from, Ass flat like pancakes. I don't know how well-known that one is though, but I figured pie was global.

Now you really ruined my appetite, thanks to my cinematic imagination. :P

We don't use synonyms related to cake for neither, one or the other in Germany.

Sometimes we say bun or coffey-bean for ass if it looks decent, or plum for vagina, if it has to be related to food, but that's it.

If we're going with these meanings then I'm a full on Ass (Cake) man, but I hate flat butts. It just makes me sad, like

a playground without slides or jungle gyms. :(

Cake all the way. I don't like hate Pie, I even enjoy blueberry quite a bit - but if I had my choice I would always prefer Coffee Cake.
