Antrox Posted May 22, 2016 Posted May 22, 2016 E3 is a few months away... We shouldn't be arguing about where the next Elder Scrolls will take place...
afa Posted May 22, 2016 Posted May 22, 2016 I don't know if they will or need to say anything about TES6 in E3. This is the year of FO4 DLC, plus they are following up on the Doom high, have Dishonored 2 coming up. There might be a title screen or if we are lucky the reveal of the landmass in question, a remaster would actually fit nicely into a releasing timeline, but I don't know if production wise is actually a good idea.

Ummm... they haven't brought up any info on an Elder Scrolls game in nearly 5 years. I highly doubt they will just announce FO4 DLC at E3, otherwise that would a complete waste of time... Â Also why the hell would they do a remaster? Seems completely idiotic considering the fact that they have never done one; ever...
Gameplayer Posted May 23, 2016 Posted May 23, 2016 E3 is a few months away... We shouldn't be arguing about where the next Elder Scrolls will take place...  Ahhh  It takes place on the Continent of E3!  I haven't heard of this place yet but Im sure we hear about it at the summer conference for electronic games yes!  _)_________________  Seriously though it would be prudent for Bethsada's Todd Howard to mention something new and not stuff that we watched vids for last year. Also its in keeping with the 5 year timeline....  Playing Bethsada games is like er you get olderish playing these. Â
OmgItsaGhost! Posted May 23, 2016 Posted May 23, 2016 E3 is a few months away... We shouldn't be arguing about where the next Elder Scrolls will take place... Â E3 is a few WEEKS away. June 14-16
Niobia Posted May 23, 2016 Posted May 23, 2016 Wondering if there's going to be another TES or FO in the future is like wondering if the sun is gonna be there tomorrow. It's most likely gonna happen otherwise we'd all die instantly.

Kernel39 Posted May 23, 2016 Author Posted May 23, 2016 Where did Morrowind's and Oblivion's expansions take us to?
Guest Posted May 23, 2016 Posted May 23, 2016 Where did Morrowind's and Oblivion's expansions take us to? Â The main game of Morrwind in on the isle of Vvanderfell and the expansions took place in the city of Mournhold and Solstheim. Â Oblivion took place in Cyrondiil and the Sheogorath's plane of oblivion the Shivering Isles.
nIn nIn nIn Posted May 23, 2016 Posted May 23, 2016  I would go nuts over a TES II - Daggerfall remake - it's been a very long time. 20 years in fact.  Ha, that is to todays point unfortunately no longer doable! The Elder Scrolls 2 - Daggerfall is quite easy to LARGE (game world) 161,600 square kilometers (almost twice the size of England). An estimated 15,000 villages, towns and dungeons, about 750,000 inhabitants and monsters. Do you want the vast continent Tamriel (only High Rock and Hammerfell) nonetheless traverse on foot, which takes approximately two weeks. Not playtime, but rather real time mind you! By contrast is Oblivion and Skyrim just once 40 square kilometers, that is laughable.   with today's graphics quality would 100 DVD'S are not enough or the download would last for many months.  sorry, German page. http://www.spieletipps.de/artikel/4646/4/   I distinctly remember walking across the map and it took nearly a month in real time. There were encounters and I had to do that thing (sleep) as well.Â
Darth_Falcon Posted May 23, 2016 Posted May 23, 2016 We've been to Morrowind, Cyrodil, Skyrim, but there are many other continents in Tamriel that haven't been touched upon yet in the TES franchise. Â Â Also High Rock and Hammerfell, in Daggerfall, but the rest of the continent is yet to appear in a TES game made by Bethesda. Â As for the topic, don't hold your breath on seeing TES VI at E3, since Skyrim Bethesda has only announced games when they're ready to be released the same year (Skyrim trailer Feb 2011, game released November 2011, Fallout 4 trailer Jun 2015, Fallout 4 release November 2015) With bethesda still working on DLC for Fallout 4, they most likely haven't made it beyond the basic concepts for TES VI, if they've even done that. This isn't the same situation as Fallout 3 and New Vegas, two games within the same franchise made by separate developers. These games (Fallout 4 and TES VI) would BOTH be developed by Bethesda, and they won't start production on a new game until the old one is finished. Like others have said before me, expect an announcement in 2018 at the earliest, and that's being generous looking at the time between Skyrim and Fallout 4 (four years). Â
Guest endgameaddiction Posted May 23, 2016 Posted May 23, 2016 Pretty sure they will do exactly the same thing they did with FO4 and announce the next sequel 4-5 months before it's release date. I honestly think they still plan to milk ESO and Fallout 4 with more generic DLCs. Â Though, I am looking forward to seeing them destroy the next TES game with voice protagonist and idiotic ME dialogue to see the reactions of many TES fans and the white knights charge in and jusify that crap 100%.

Yes, YES, SARCASTIC YES!!! I'm more interested in watching the destruction of their modding scene though... Paid mods FTW!

It's most likely gonna happen otherwise we'd all die instantly. Â FO is for me a stillborn child, who wants to play it, then PLEASE! I never in my live, rather I would chop off my hand, it is for me no RPG rather a Shooter!Â
winny257 Posted May 23, 2016 Posted May 23, 2016  ---snip--- Also High Rock and Hammerfell, in Daggerfall, but the rest of the continent is yet to appear in a TES game made by Bethesda.  As for the topic, don't hold your breath on seeing TES VI at E3, since Skyrim Bethesda has only announced games when they're ready to be released the same year (Skyrim trailer Feb 2011, game released November 2011, Fallout 4 trailer Jun 2015, Fallout 4 release November 2015) With bethesda still working on DLC for Fallout 4, they most likely haven't made it beyond the basic concepts for TES VI, if they've even done that. Kernel39 Posted May 23, 2016 Author Posted May 23, 2016 There's likely going to be a huge gap between the release of Fallout 4 and the next TES game. Â Probably 4 years at least.

It also means that Bethesda listens to the negative reactions from the fans. And since the voiced protagonist and the dialogue system are the two most hated things in the game I think/guess/hope they will not do them in TES6.
Darth_Falcon Posted May 23, 2016 Posted May 23, 2016   ---snip---  but it would be a huge period between Skyrim 2011 and TES VI approximately 2018 = more than 7 years!  Morrowind was released in 2002 Oblivion was released in 2006 = 4 years Skyrim was released in 2011 = 5 years  the periods between games become of game to game ever increasing! either Bethesda rest on its laurels or they do not need more money.    I think the time between Morrowind and Oblivion is a great example, it took them that long when The Elder Scrolls was the only franchise they were making. Now that they're doing The Elder Scrolls AND Fallout, it would be natural to expect a longer turnaround period for their games, as it would be the same team working on both franchises, Bethesda isn't a massive company like Ubisoft with multiple subdivisions able to pump out a new game every year because they're all in different stages of production at the same time. If it weren't for the extensive DLC planned for Fallout 4, I might be inclined to believe that TES VI could come out sooner as they would have already begun development with Fallout 4 being released, the same way they made Fallout 3 between Oblivion and Skyrim, but Fallout 4 just has too much planned for it for them to have started on TES VI. As other people have also pointed out, and they've shown with their recent games, Bethesda won't announce anything until the game is almost ready to ship, anyone else remember when people noticed the Bethesda employees scouting Boston and they still made no comment about Fallout 4?
Kernel39 Posted May 23, 2016 Author Posted May 23, 2016 It's also possible that TES VI is already in development just like how Fallout 4 was in the works shortly after Skyrim was released. Â These games take years to make.
Darth_Falcon Posted May 23, 2016 Posted May 23, 2016 True, but Skyrim didn't get DLC on the scale that Fallout 4 has so far, aren't the claims that Far Harbor is as big as, if not bigger than, the Shivering Isles? the biggest thing we got for Skyrim was Dragonborn, which felt like maybe half that.
protocolk Posted May 23, 2016 Posted May 23, 2016 my guess is that theyll announce TES 6 on next years E3, tod anounced theyre working on 3 big projects 1 of them is new and the other 2 old.One of them is probablt TES 6, also the rumors are starting to appear, in FO4 they appeared 1 y 6 months - 2 y before the announcement so next year or 2018.
afa Posted May 24, 2016 Posted May 24, 2016 Â I don't know if they will or need to say anything about TES6 in E3. Â Also why the hell would they do a remaster? Seems completely idiotic considering the fact that they have never done one; ever... Â Â Time doesn't matter, they have no reason to. Lately they seem to have picked up the habit of announcing and then releasing not too far off. Going deep into TES now would likely mean it is coming out soon (Nov of this year, or less than a year) which is counterproductive to their FO plans. Plus from a company stand point Dishonored 2 is the up and comer for them to build hype on. That's why even if TES gets a nod it will likely be something minor. Hence a remaster might be a good idea just to satisfy the time gap, without going too deep into an actual competitive product, however if they should/want to devote manpower to it is another matter. People can moan and cry about the recent games all they want, but Beth is in a fairly good position right now sales figure wise there's no need for them to wow or pleases the crowd especially, and even if they want to jumping into TES isn't really the solution. Â Do I want to see TES getting show? of course! But quite frankly if they do have something big to show I will likely be more skeptical than anything else, but that's another discussion altogether.
Darth_Falcon Posted May 24, 2016 Posted May 24, 2016 Another thing to consider in favor of them announcing it sooner rather than later, a lot of fans weren't too happy with Fallout 4. If enough people waited until AFTER the game was released and got an idea of whether they'd like it before buying, Bethesda might "rush" TES VI to make up for their huge mistakes. Don't get me wrong, I like Fallout 4, a lot, but there's no denying that it "barely" qualifies as being an RPG.
