DzOnIxD Posted March 15, 2016 Posted March 15, 2016 So I wanted to do a role play with my character in Skyrim. Something like starting as an innocent virgin and ending like a sex crazed sadistic monster. I had a whole script of events. How I'm going to start the adventure, what to do by order, how to customize my character, etc. But the main problem is that after a while I start getting CTD, the first takes a while then the game CTD really frequently. Can anyone give me a stable mod list that will suit my role playing needs.
Gameplayer Posted March 15, 2016 Posted March 15, 2016 Mod Organizer Sexlab and its requirements Racemenu SOS full version Bodyslide Pick UUNP or CBBE Use HDT extensions and Groovtama Skeleton Sexlab Aroused Redux Amorous Adventures Devious Devices Integration Deviously Cursed Loot Captured Dreams Amazing Follower Tweaks, (the old one from 2012 n nothing else, this also covers your horse needs) Only Perk Overhauls I've found that are working well with a script heavy play is -Staff Mod -POS ________________ Essential Modifications SSME or SKSE memory tweak fix ENB Boost by Boris <you really want to get this up and working. ___________________ Stuff I avoid others will of course disagree and its my opinion they are of course wrong. Of course this is not a statement of these mods being bad, its a statement of these are not included in an ideal Sexlab deviant playthrough. Wet n Cold RND iNeed Dual Sheath Redux Armed to the Teeth Frostfall Skyre Perma ACE ASIS Convenient Horses <Crap....honestly its crap and most other horse mods are too BBLux Suite and its variants Immersive Citizen AI (due to messing with followers this behavior is still persistant from experimentation I have found despite an update) Better Vampires and pretty much all vamp/werewolf mods...Bottom line is that these add more active script calls and even if I turn off some of those calls I just end up with a striped down vamp/wolfy so whats the point) DynDoLod, Hello OMG HIGH active Script amounts.....ya what could go wrong when we start adding other intense mods with this HAHA Skytest Realistic Animals and Preditors Pretty much avoid all the combat mods especially ones claiming script light don't make me laugh. Aviod pretty much most Perk Overhauls If a Follower Mod sounds too good to be true....It is too good to be true. Vilja Sophia Some healer girl assorted other scripty followers I don't bother remembering What your not told is their scripts are active the moment the ESP is loaded into your game. We cannot determine from computer to computer what the limitations will be. I can however tell you that its best to keep a trim load order in this regard and stick to it. _______________________________ I know your thinking but my game is so vanilla ? Yup... But you said you didn't want CTD's and you want to have a sex crazed playthough. By avoiding mods from the Nexus that people tend to use for "immersion" your sexlab play throughs will be quite stable.
Ashkandii Posted March 15, 2016 Posted March 15, 2016 now your right script heavy mods stay away from specially with a Sex play through but they are many mods you suggest to avoid that are not even harmful. But from experience im going to name the PRIME suspects of causing CTDs TOO many script mods, not heavy ones, but having TOO many should be 100% avoided, if your going with those devious journeys of lust then i would stay away from every mod that either states or seems like its medium script heavy. So Combat Evolved and Ordinator should only add and not increase CTDs TOO many textures, as it does make skyrim look nice. re texturing every object in skyrim puts a strain your game, especially outside, and skyrim using the same ole engine as before this will pretty much give you a guarantee of CTDs while outside. Mod Incompatibility. loves making your game go from riding a horse to desktop real quick. would read up on your mods to find out which is trying to kill which. And overall dont spawn 150 exploding chickens and kill them. Follower mods are fine to use, companion mods. not so. if it just adds some pretty vanilla voiced girl your fine. and the obvious ones to reduce CTD. editing .ini files LOOT Mod Organizer WyreBash merging plugins would make loading screens etc little bit faster which is always good and makes your load order like sprinkling clean! Weapons/Armours/Patches/animations/quest mods are pretty much harmless.
WaxenFigure Posted March 15, 2016 Posted March 15, 2016 If you want a stable Skyrim then you need to PATCH it to fix the problems in the underlying game that Bethesda never fixed. That means: Enabling the SKSE Memory patch (it's the Sheson patch built into SKSE). Use an ENB or the ENBOOST program, that will free up lots of memory within the game reducing the chance it will run out of memory and reducing it's work at maintaining it's memory. Follow the directions here http://www.loverslab.com/topic/56084-crash-fixes/ and install that fix as well. With those done your game will be set up to be much more stable (you're still going to get crashes but not nearly as often, you should be able to play for hours between crashes).
MoreForMe Posted March 15, 2016 Posted March 15, 2016 So I wanted to do a role play with my character in Skyrim. Can anyone give me a stable mod list that will suit my role playing needs. First of all - don't follow Anatriax's guide for immersive skyrim, or you will end up with broken and unstable game. This guide wasn't updated for a long time it seems, and some of the mods in this guide are obsolete and known to cause trouble. Especially don't use DynDOLOD - it's waste of time (you spend most of the time exploring caves/dungeons, and outside ENB's FOV blurs distant objects anyway). Optimizing textures by hand - again - waste of time. I'm using latest TES V ENB (305) with RealVision ENB profile... My current install order (highest install id is on top) is as follows and will suit your role play well (I'm using it for very similar scenario - you will love Sex Lab Sex Slaves aka Mia's Lair, Alicia Painslut, Skooma Whore and Deviously Cursed Loot). The game is stable, no CTDs etc. I have slight changes in skyrim.ini, but again - it's just the standard stuff - nothing spectacular. DzOnIxD Posted March 16, 2016 Author Posted March 16, 2016 Thank you guys really much. I didn't expect such high effort comments. I will consider all of your opinions and advices. Mofme, I didn't have 1/5 of the mods you have yet I couldn't play for an hour without crashing. Feels like the game has a mind of its own. I have no idea what are esp files and what are they used for, but I have an idea which mods make the game more unstable. You guys cleared some things for me, and your help is greatly appreciated.
Nazzzgul666 Posted March 16, 2016 Posted March 16, 2016 Most important things imho: SKSE memory patch. ENBoost + proper config. Ini tweaks. Loot. For me these three things made skyrim from "I crash constantly every 30 minutes with 10 mods installed" to "I can play 3 hours without crash and 300 mods installed." Most often it's not that a mod is unstable in general, or conflicting with another in general. But especially about scripts it depends on, how often they do how much stress, and which other mods you have which do the same, and in the end with every tweak, if your computer is able to handle it. It's still possible to bring a modern computer to it's limits with enough mods And partly it's very hard to say if a mod is script heavy. For example, i've read that FNIS sexy moves scans every two seconds every female. Even if it's not much stress, it's very often and this can cause problems with mods which scan seldom, but do bigger actions. Many suggested mods here are known to cause much stress, the whole DD part, DCUL can cause a lot of stress alone if you use all options. Captured Dreams made my game crash every time i got close to the shop after the expansion finished in one game. But that doesn't mean it's unstable in general. I have the feeling that it also depends on the load order which mod causes the crash in the end if it's just too much, but i'm really not sure about that point. Last but not least: Even a mod considered 100% stable and smooth can cause crashes if there is an update with a bug like new version of defeat (doesn't crash but causes bugs/stops working for me.) Other mods called 'alpha' like slaverun reloaded can run perfect. Tl;dr: you have to try out what works for you and your machine. Start with the minimum of mods you want to use, play some hours and see if that works. If you think you could add some more, make a save (console type 'save mysavegame' to create a save with a unique name), install some more mods and play again some time. Reload if it was too much, do the same if you think you still can add something.

I used FNIS sexy move, maybe that caused some of the problems in my playtrough. But probably the bigger issue is that I have no idea what config.ini is used for. I understand that they are some kind of settings. Can I use someone else's config.ini file that is better configured, even tho we don't have the same mods?

There are several guides and i'm no expert myself, something quite helpful was to add this, also i'm not 100% sure what every entry does exactly: [Papyrus] fUpdateBudgetMS=1.6 ; fExtraTaskletBudgetMS=1.6 fPostLoadUpdateTimeMS=2000.0 <-- give scripts more time to complete. iMinMemoryPageSize=128 iMaxMemoryPageSize=768 iMaxAllocatedMemoryBytes=2147483647 bEnableLogging=0 bEnableTrace=0 bLoadDebugInformation=0 ------------ // set these last 3 to 1 if you have problems/bugs and want to report them, it will create a papyrus0.log file in .../documents/MyGames/Skyrim/Logs/scripts which can help to find the problem. Using it will cause a bit more stress though, so you shouldn't activate it all the time. In general: You can use at least the skyrim.ini from somebody else, but there are a lot of possibilities and maybe you prefer other settings than somebody else. Make a backup before you edit it, if you dislike the changes just go back and try something else. For the enblocal.ini you should set it exactly to your configuration, maybe even hardware. Most important things are if you use enbseries (graphics modification, beatiful but costs a lot resources) and if your OS is operating on x64 architecture, which is probably the case. *Edit: another helpful tool is 'Skyrim Save Cleaner'. Use it from time to time to clean your latest save, it will help to avoid bloat.

If this works for you then cool but the fPostLoadUpdateTimeMS=2000.0 and iMaxAllocatedMemoryBytes=2147483647 i would not have thought would be beneficial from this http://www.creationkit.com/INI_Settings_%28Papyrus%29 source
Nazzzgul666 Posted March 16, 2016 Posted March 16, 2016 If this works for you then cool but the fPostLoadUpdateTimeMS=2000.0 and iMaxAllocatedMemoryBytes=2147483647 i would not have thought would be beneficial from this http://www.creationkit.com/INI_Settings_%28Papyrus%29 source Thanks for the link, now i understand much better what these changes actually do But according to this source, fPostLoadUpdateTimeMS=2000.0 will increase time for loading screens to improve stability. iMaxAllocatedMemoryBytes=2147483647 will improve perfomance without decreasing stability as long as enough RAM is there. Shouldn't be a problem when playing Skyrim though, if you have less than 8GB and your.graphic card less than 4GB this value should probably be smaller. Many problems with skyrim exist because the game doesn't use the existing RAM/VRAM, many fixes just increase it. This is one more version of those, not the most important, but still helpfull. At least that's what i read there, and had really _much_ less crashes since this edit. Of course some of these entries might be unecessary, but as long as they don't disturb anything... i'm happy with it. *Edit: I found this: http://www.loverslab.com/topic/43043-skyrim-modding-guide/ didn't read all, but it sounds very useful
fore Posted March 17, 2016 Posted March 17, 2016 And partly it's very hard to say if a mod is script heavy. For example, i've read that FNIS sexy moves scans every two seconds every female. Even if it's not much stress, it's very often and this can cause problems with mods which scan seldom, but do bigger actions. Not quite right. FNIS SM checks every 2 sec if the player has crossed cell boundaries. It checks the females in the vicinity of the player (not EVERY female) every 10 sec, or if the player crosses boundaries. And mods will be interrupted automatically if they do "bigger" actions.

I mentioned that i've only read that to make clear that i'm not sure if that's true When you say "mods will be interrupted" you hopefully mean "mods will interrupt"? Beeing interrupted is what i want to avoid. Btw since you're here, is there a way to replace the walking animation only? No matter which option i chose, the running animation was always too girlish for my taste, but some swinging when walking would be nice.
LordZulten Posted March 17, 2016 Posted March 17, 2016 Mostly commenting to add a subscription because there's a lot of good info here. My first recommendation is to get acquainted with Mod Organizer, LOOT, WyreBash, and TES5Edit. Be sure to read special instructions and readme's for EVERY mod you consider. It seems like a tedious process but it's much better than getting 564 mods and trying to figure out which one is causing a CTD. Some people might disagree but STEP has a good baseline for modding. You may not want to use all the mods, but there's some good info in just reading the guide. I definitely recommend testing out your mod setup on a new game (that you don't really care about) before installing a ton of mods and loading your main character. Other than that, I don't really have much else to contribute as some of the other posts are spot on. Good luck!
