Stormcloaks or Imperials?

I know this question has been asked countless times and has sparked many heated debates but I ask this time with a purpose.

I've been working on a Skyrim comic series titled "Land of the Sluts".  It's based on a playthrough I'm doing right now.  If you want to read them, follow this link.

Much further in the series I plan to tackle the Main Quest/Civil War.  I'll need to pick a side but right now I can't decide which.  Got ideas for both sides and I can make the story work either way.  Both sides have their advantages from a story perspective.  So I'd like some help and feedback.  Feel free to pitch a random vote if you want in the poll below.  Any and all votes are appreciated.  Thanks!

Imperials. I don't like anarchist and elves haters as Storcloaks are.

wait what cock did you use for the males?

In the chapters so far and for the next several chapters, I used the erect version of Better Males.  But I've since switched to Schlongs of Skyrim so eventually you'll start seeing that.

The empire... attachicon.gif600px-SR-npc-General_Tullius.jpg

Or Ulfric... attachicon.gif71864-2-1449823678.jpg

Tough call. ;)

Is that a female Ulfric?  Is there a mod that does that?

Fascinating!  I'll have to test this out.  May go with it regardless which side wins if I like it.  Thanks.  :)

Ulfric became a beautiful woman... there is no choice which side the dragonborn fights for.

Gave the mod a quick try.  Ulfric sure looks sexy now!

I read some comments about the mod and some mentioned times when She-Ulfric would use her male voice.  She did that once when talking to a mod-added NPC.

Also something odd happened when I tried removing her clothes.  Her blond hair turned black.  Weird.

I almost always go Imperial.  I mostly play as a Dunmer or a Bosmer.  Stormcloaks treat anyone not a Nord like total crap. Plus the info in game about Ulfric and the Aldmeri Dominion make me not want to help him.

I'm going with Imperial.  Thanks to everyone who voted!

And a big thank you for letting me know about that female Ulfric mod!  I've got some big plans with that mod in place.  A lot better than what I had in mind for a male Ulfric.

I'll be releasing Part 7 of my comic series sometime over the next week.  I'll be posting it on my Tumblr but also in the Screenshot thread.  If you like my series, look forward to it!

If I had it my way, I'd rule Skyrim with the Forsworn and destroy the Legion and Stormcloaks. I would leave  Orsimers and the College of Winterhold.alone.

Who will pay more then will get my attention and imperials paid more so yeah.

I would say Imperials, they seems to be rich howemever skyrim legion is kinda under-equipped. So it looks like they probly won't fund a high-budget pr0n.

It's a tough call. There are no 'good guys' in TES, and I don't think the game does a very good job fleshing out either side.

The stormcloaks fight for religious freedom, but they also fight for nord traditional values, and traditionally they have warred with the chimer and dwemer, and they pushed the snow elves to the brink of extinction, leading to their eventual betrayal at the hands of the dwemer and all of that misery. How much of that war was justified is a matter of opinion, but I think we can all agree that, in the words of the late Harbinger, "More blood has been spilled than honor demanded." The Greybeards corroborate this by mentioning the nordic term for war, "Season Unending". Then there's the book The Bear of Markarth, where an imperial scholar accuses Ulfric of war crimes in his 'liberation' of Markarth, and hints at the nords' treatment of the bretons living in Skyrim. Is the scribe telling the truth? Did those atrocities really happen? We can't really say, because we weren't there and there's no npcs in the game who talk about it. In fact, there is only one npc in the entire game who suggests that Ulfric might actually be an asshole, and that's that one member of the Riften Jarl's family. But he has no proof, no first hand account to justify why he feels that way. And from the player's perspective, when we go to windhelm what we see is a city that took in a bunch of dunmer refugees out of the kindness of their heart. You could argue that the Dunmer and Argonians living in Windhelm live in poor conditions, but the fact that they're living and working there undermines the idea that Ulfric just hates everyone who isn't a nord and wants to kick the dirty foreigners out.

Then you have the Forsworn/Breton population, whom could be seen as sympathetic characters, except that the game continually paints them as daedra-worshipping savages that raid caravans and smear blood on stuff and leave dismembered animal parts all over their homes. "The Bear of Markarth" suggests that they were more civilized than that, but apart from the ones living in Markarth and the mining towns (some of whom are sleeper agents), they're all basically bandits.

And finally, we have the Empire. On one hand, the Empire has some positive qualities: they represent progressive thought and multiculturalism, rule of law, order, peace. And their army is the only thing keeping the Thalmor from sweeping over Nirn and attempting to destroy it in order to ascend to godhood or whatever. But right off the bat, TES5 paints them as the bad guy; "Hey who's this person we picked up? They're not on our list so we don't even know whether they're a criminal. Oh well, better execute them because we can't be bothered to do proper justice."

And let's not forget how the Empire was founded: through conquest. Tiber Septim, for all the love the Nords want to heap upon him, was a douche. He didn't even found the original concept of the Empire; he merely took over after two other Empires and a bunch of other history had already taken place. The Imperial City and all that was already there, and has changed hands many times by the time TES5 rolls around. So when the priests of Talos go on about him "founding the empire", that's bullshit. When the Imperials criticize the Stormcloaks for 'turning their backs on Talos's creation', that's also bullshit. All Tiber Septim did was capture the Imperial City and then use the army (and after he got Morrowind to capitulate, Numidium) to basically conquer the world. And even that wasn't good enough for him, because after he brought all of Tamriel under the Imperial banner, he used his big stompy robot to just go on a murder spree against a bunch of people he didnt like.

The Empire's victory against Morrowind (and ensuing influence there) led to slavery in Morrowind being mostly abolished, though. So maybe there's a silver lining there?

If you sit down and actually read the lore, you start to look at what's going on in Skyrim much differently. TES5 presents a very simplistic picture of what should really be complex and tough moral choices. Do you prop up the conquering Empire that brought its brand of civilization to the world by force? Or do you prop up the people who want to rule themselves, but whom will almost certainly abuse their newfound power?

The really sad thing is that ultimately, it doesn't matter. A few NPCs change places and the guards change color, but that's it. Nothing really changes, and it leaves you feeling like there should have been more. Skyrim would have really benefitted from a DLC where the result of the Civil War actually went somewhere, like if the Thalmor attacked the Imperial City again, before the Empire/Skyrim could regain its strength with the civil war resolved. Or, if you could just decide that neither party deserved to win, and that you would decide to capture the Imperial City for yourself, becoming Emperor/Empress.

Let's dispel once and for all with this fiction that Ulfric Stormcloak doesn't know what he's doing. He knows EXACTLY what he's doing.

Real talk I'm a man of the people and that + fact that Viking & nordic lore is cool as shit makes Stormcloaks the only faction for me. I dunno how many hours I have in Skyrim but not once have I done the Imperial questline. If TESVI comes out and the Imperials are the defending force vs. a xenophobic intrusion team made up of Elf Hitlers and puppet weaklings then I'll be Imperial no questions asked.

I know the long game requires a Imperial victory, but I don't wanna; slaughter a good 50% of the Nord population, prevent worship of one of the main 9 divines, disrupt all Nord cultural ways, enable insidious war crimes, kidnapping & worse etc just to have some vague chance at defeating Elf Hitler in some distant future. Dying with honor is better than living on the leash bro

Mod named civil war overhaul made the outcome more epic. The only reason for me to join storm cloak i was tired of always chosing imperial side and also ulfric can use shout just like the player character. Together they are an unstoppable force. Also storm cloak allows female in the army imperials don't.

Ummm not sure where you picked that up. Just to name one example off the top of my head, Legate Rikke.

I always sided with Stormcloaks. For the simple reason fighting for your freedom. The fact that Imperials bend their knee to the Aldmeri Dominion makes them weak. No pride. Even if losing the battle.

A few times I've tried to side with Imperials but I end up regretting that decision.

The lower ranks contain no females rikke was just there because of rebelian she walked over. there is no females beside rikke in the entire imperial army.
