Skyrim.esm messed up? Or is it something else? (Purple textures, ctds?)

I have purple tree textures scattered throughout my Skyrim now, and I think some mods are still sticking too, and I'm not sure why.  I've unselected them in Mod Organizer and even started a new game, but I think they still persist or have stained the game itself and I don't know how to go about fixing it.

 

Lately I've been having random ctds and lag too, and not sure how related these events are to my other problems.  Is there some way to check for sure what's going on with these missing textures, etc?

There are only 2 options with missing textures. 1. The files are missing, just open the zip file of the mod and see where textures should be located. If you have them in a right place then its probably option 2. Your computer is to weak to suport that number of mods. You need to cut down of mods that add heavy script but also mods that add alot of objects like armor sets.

Had exactly that problem, i simply overload my skyrim. Saved money for few years, bought beast of the machine and never had that problem since, even tho i installed 10x more mods then before.

Depends on the type of purple you mean, If its DD or any type of mod SPECIFIC thing then you may be missing a texture pack or something got deleted/overwritten.
Or as the person above me stated you may have low VRAM if it tends to be more random or it affects a wide variety of objects or NPCs.

Vram usually causes black textures rather than purple though doesn't it?

 

I would check to make sure the pathing on all the textures is good, if they are installed correctly and such, then check the mod's page to see if anyone had similar issues. I mean even Amidia's texture pack had some missing textures that were fixed with a patch, sometimes things slip through.

When I click the purple trees it says "skyrim.esm"  was it flora overhaul that could have done it, I'm not sure if they directly play with Skyrim trees or not.  I just got rid of some HD mods so it shouldn't be overload, but I DO have a lot of script mods I love so it's hard to choose what to drop. :/  Mostly to do with more dragons.

I never had black textures. Tho my purple textures where def cuz of mod overload and weak PC. I dont think it realy matters from what esm/esp objects is taken. The purple stuff for me was random and diffrent each game lunch.

Do you use ENBoost (properly?). There is a third option that your computer isn't too weak, but doesn't use all of it's VRAM which should be fixed by ENBoost. You'll know if it's installed and loaded if there is a message about it in your loading screen. I had both black and purple textures, randomly vanilla and from mods when i forgot about the last part

I'll explore my folders and see if I installed that right, but I heard you can't use it and an ENB from somewhere? Not sure if that's correct or not.

As far as I am aware you can use both ENB and ENBoost at the same time without issue,

 

The trees are located in Skyrim.esm and they are purple.

 

This to me tells me that one of the following could be happening

 

• You tried to compress the Skyrim - Textures.bsa - doing so actually does more damage than good if done incorrectly
• The bsa line in your ini is not correct and/or missing - solution is to edit/re-add the line
• The actual Skyrim - Texture folder is missing from your Skyrim folder -  Solution is to verify cache from steam and see if that fixes your problem.

No matter what mods override Skyrim.esm they will not cause the trees or any other item from the Skyrim master file to go purple, this is indicative of issues relating solely to Skyrim.esm

It's important to configure it right when using an enb graphics mod, there are several tutorials etc to see how your settings should be. Can't help here since i don't use enb series though. Actually, i didn't know it's possible to use enb without boost

I verified cache already...what is the bsa line?

I have a problem with my skyrim setup. I have the red triangle and a no 1 on it. when i click on it and the message I get the following message

I have turned off all the mods and it stayed the same, so I uninstalled skyrim and it is still on. what can I do?
