[QUESTION] Good texture options for SOS?

I'm doing a fresh install of Skyrim and mods, so wanted to get some opinions on what the best textures for SOS are.
The threads I found were all a little old, so I'm hoping there have been some new textures to come out or other options.
The textures I had previously weren't even 2k I think, so it is quite noticeable.

 

Are there any good 4k textures for SOS bodies? I like to play as a male, and unfortunately it seems like the options for male characters are rather limited.

There are no 4K skins for SOS, the one replacer  that WOULD have them requires femfeet, including femfeet UVs and therefore femfeet diffuse, which are 1K.

The best options for 2K or 4K textures seems to be Fine Men Retexture for the races of men and mer while for Argonians and Khajiit, there is Masculine Argonian and Khajiit Texures.

CMO (complete male overhaul) is my favorite, but it has been taken down from the nexus.

CMO is the one that uses femfeet and thus overrides it own 4K textures with femfeet's.

I tried using CMO, and everything looked good, except for some reason the genitalia is a different color than the rest of the body. I'll try fine textures next

The texture files for the Smurf SOS schlong is missing - only regular and muscular is included by standard. I took the files from one of those, copied it and created my own smurf folder. Works as well - slight discoloration, but only visible in very good light.

I'll have to give that a try. I'm thinking I might be having a problem with All-in-one HDT Animated Pussy overwriting SOS files, since that mod adds physics to the genitalia, it alters the meshes as well.

The AiO package does overwrite the meshes, yes - but if you play on normal SOS build, it's the same meshes for body and genitalia. No big changes on these parts, since they are "only" enhanced by the HDT physics. If in doubt, delete the meshes from CMO and let the textures overwrite AiO and there you go.

I'll give that a try a see how it goes, thanks. One thing I notice is that there are several instances of SOS textures in different places. One path is Textures\actors\character\SOS, another is Textures\actors\character\male\SOS. Is this supposed to be this way? You'd think there would be conflicts with different paths pointing to the same things.

Shit, no matter what I do this happens



I made sure to exclusively install the regular version of schlongs, installed fem feet redesigned, then installed CMO. Even added the other folders, and still get this discoloration. I'm starting to feel really stupid wasting so much time on discolored computer dicks...

Hm:

 

-> do you have this result with each of the 3 schlong types?

-> do you use NMM or MO? Might be interesting to see if something else is overwritting your folders

-> did you try the hairier versions, too?

-> what version of SOS are you using?

 

Trial and error is always part of the way when using private mods. There is no losing, but only winning in it. Don't give up

I'm using SOS 3.00.004 from the download section here, I installed SOS, then AIO and let everything overwrite, I'm using NMM, but even tried manually installing the textures. Tried the hairier version, and it was just as bad. I ended up giving up yesterday and reinstalled the textures that came with AIO, and the seam and discoloration is gone. I then downloaded the better faces and a higher quality normal map from nexus. The result isn't the best quality, but the obvious seams are gone. Thanks for taking the time to help with this.

Sorry that you had to march through that much trouble. No idea, why there is a problem with CMO for you. Maybe you'll find out someday.

 

Besides that, you can always try SAM. That's the only real alternative to SOS.

I like CMO, however Femfeet for SOS is required and is no longer avaliable, anyone who has a copy of Femfeet for SOS and could upload it would be very much apreciated
