Guest endgameaddiction Posted December 29, 2015 Posted December 29, 2015 Well, this is what he told me when I asked (I assume he won't mind my passing it along as it's rather vague): "What actually happened is that for personal reasons I decided to not be active on LL and to take down some of the NSFW options from my mods. Bethesda didn't contact me, also I'm still making a Fallout 4 version just not a NSFW one." I suppose that finding Jesus is as good a guess as any. I might guess something more along the lines of wife agro as NSFW mods were removed and activity on LL is being discontinued (LL which is commonly known for bestiality and other stuff not even allowed on Nexus). However it came about it's unfortunate. He didn't want to say more though, so I'll just respect the decision and leave it at that. Clearly whatever happened was serious and I think we should all respect that. We'll see. It's very much understandable why this project was discontinued, but still don't understand what the mods on Nexus being pulled has anything to do with it because last I checked (and I had those tracked) they were SFW on Nexus. Where he plans to put his SFW version of this project. Only reason why I found it to be ironic was that the OP was logged on a day after this drastic decision when people were already concerned about him and didn't bother to say anything in regards to that till the next day, which is what led me to say what I said in my second post in this thread. I took it as if he read it and didn't care and moved on.

Anonymous Posted December 29, 2015 Posted December 29, 2015 Modding is a hobby, he doesn't owe anyone anything. If people are butthurt that a mod author might disappear or stop supporting a mod they can always step in and do it themselves. Just my two cents... Would it really hurt giving people a reason, though? I bet that regardless of how silly it wouldn't be, we'd still understand and wish a good luck. Acting like this just needlessly makes people worried.
Jexsam Posted December 29, 2015 Posted December 29, 2015 Damn, he pulled all the other NSFWs too? Good thing I snagged each version for NV when I found it... Shoulda grabbed FO3 too but since I can't see myself ever playing it again, at the time I decided against it. Well in any case, good luck with the SFW version.

I think the far more likely reason is that he might be starting a new career that is important to him and doesn't want to be associated with Loverslab. Never know what can be found on a background check.

Wait am i missing something because i thought it has always just been the unzipped and bikini version, was there another version? The unzipped and bikini are still there for me. And also hyped for a sfw version still. In words of cman himself - "The more Vault Girl the better" Godspeed

I don't remember.
Arhon Posted January 5, 2016 Posted January 5, 2016 Guys just stop. Respect his decision. And if anyone wants to make a NSFW(Nude) version simply wait until he releases his SFW(Non-Nude) version and ask for his permission to make it and release it(or keep it for yourself).
RapidWaterOver Posted January 24, 2016 Posted January 24, 2016 Thanks for the update, bigc. Seems like you want to go legit, which is totally understandable. Your work is certainly good enough to deserve promoting / portfolio status. I'm fine with just SFW versions, especially if other modders will fill the void for naughtier variations. However, are the nude/futa versions of your previous mods gone for good? It sucks to see great work purged from the net. But if that's your decision, I respect it and I'll still definitely be using your cleaner versions. Keep up the good work, and I look forward to your updates on the nexus. LoversLab is a perfectly legit site though. It's like saying just because a bar isn't on main street means it isn't the same or not as good as the one on main street. It's a little ridiculous. Well, this is what he told me when I asked (I assume he won't mind my passing it along as it's rather vague): "What actually happened is that for personal reasons I decided to not be active on LL and to take down some of the NSFW options from my mods. Never know what can be found on a background check. Background checks are usually for checking criminal behavior, not what kind of sexual fantasies you're into with a modded video game.
Jexsam Posted January 24, 2016 Posted January 24, 2016 Background checks are usually for checking criminal behavior, not what kind of sexual fantasies you're into with a modded video game. Only things I can think of are either a] a prospective employer may be very picky about what kind of work their employees are associated with, or b] OP made a willful choice to minimize their more niche fetish content. Even then it only makes sense if OP is going into some kind of work where their art will be visible to the sorts of crowds that may react poorly if they realize OP was associated with hardcore fetish stuff. I can't say I wouldn't do the same thing if I started illustrating children's books or doing Christian cartoons.

I can't say I wouldn't do the same thing if I started illustrating children's books or doing Christian cartoons. An employer can't hire/not hire based on personal reasons. This would be classed as a personal reason. So unless you're going to work at a Christian Organization like Chick Fil A, it doesn't matter. Background checks also only check Federal Records for Criminal History and Medical History. It can also include whether or not you have a Federal Clearance and what level you have, this is usually for Federal Contractors (Defense Industry and such). Also, if the OP is censoring art because he's going into a field of work, then he's not a true artist. Art is meant to offend.
Jexsam Posted January 26, 2016 Posted January 26, 2016 lol If you think an employer in an art-based field of any kind isn't going to do research on a prospective employee's work, you're stupid. If you think an employer can't choose not to hire someone on the grounds that that person being associated with the company may hurt the company's image, you're really stupid. If you think people aren't going to judge you for your art, and if you think that judgment can't or won't damage your standing with the public, you're stupid. As nice as it would be for the world to be that straightforward and nonjudgmental, it isn't. Employers choose to hire or not hire for personal reasons all the time - that's why being dressed nice and presenting yourself with confidence are important, because making a bad impression regardless of how good your resume is can often lead to not getting the job over someone who came in looking professional but didn't have quite the same credentials. People uncovering twisted shit you did twenty years ago can and has affected people. Platitudes about the nature of art amount to almost nothing. But this is all conjecture anyway. Maybe OP just found Jesus or something. Despite the above diatribe, I'm firmly in the camp of "this was a bad call". I just make it a point to try to see things from other sides. Even stupid decisions are usually made for some kind of reason. Trying to figure that reason out can help you understand other viewpoints, even if you disagree with that viewpoint.

Also if any of you still want to follow the mod here is a link to the thread where I've been posting updates: http://forums.nexusmods.com/index.php?/topic/3625875-vault-girl-mod-development-thread/ The content I'm making for Vault Girl Mod is sfw. That doesn't mean others can't make lewd versions and other mods that compliment the work I'm doing. I'm still not going to be active here, just want to help clear up the confusion. There is still plenty to be excited for. BigC
baseik Posted March 23, 2016 Posted March 23, 2016 Lemme tell you something.... Nexus said failed to find results. I google up this: "Pipboy replaced as pipgirl." and come up with you. One. I made an account just to say this. Two. F***ing fantastic work, a bit excessive though I mean do you really need to do EVERYTHING? Three. Absolutely love it regardlessly. I CANNOT wait to see the released result even if it's only 10% done. Four. Love this man. LOVE IT.

I've decided I'll just make the alpha testing completely open! So anyone can download the mod. The mod is incomplete and there are some things i want to fix before actually posting to the nexus but you can go ahead and use it in it's current state. Also no one has permission to reupload this mod as their own or repost to other websites or on the nexus. If I see someone upload my mod on the nexus I will immediately report you." -bigCman123 in case anyone missed this.
Stave Posted April 26, 2016 Posted April 26, 2016 I hate to be that guy, but is there an expected release date? even like a minor download that said person who downloads it will need to update?
swords and sandals Posted April 26, 2016 Posted April 26, 2016 I hate to be that guy, but is there an expected release date? even like a minor download that said person who downloads it will need to update? The author isn't active here any more, as he made clear in the opening post. Click the link in the post above yours and use the thread on nexus if you want to ask him. The alpha versions of the mod are already available there.
