timmyc Posted May 3, 2016 Author Posted May 3, 2016 Huge thanks to Harry for pointing out the orientation issue of normal maps. I decided to try to solve this very unique normal mapping orientation issue for arguably one of the most important parts of the nude mesh that we all love and use today. Short version: Change logV0.5.0- Added an option to use special handling to tangent vector calculation logic to rotate the vectors for private area due to the common nude mesh's normal mapping alignment. This new mode RH (Rotation Handling) is recommended for all all nude meshes Long version: As most of you probably are aware of by now (and I probably should have looked before adding the tangent recomputation method ) that the lady part texture is oriented side ways which is different from the rest of the texture. This is not a problem for the diffuse map, however, it is a huge problem for normal maps since normal mapping relies on tangent vectors which are derived from the 2D UV coordinate system, so the direction of U and V are very important in this case. Due to the unique orientation of the lady part's texture, the "correct" way of calculating tangents gives strange shading effect on the model where the light appears to come from the left side which is evident in models after being edited in Blender or v0.4.9 recompute tangent functionality. As such, the Recompute Tangent Vectors functionality has been specifically enhanced to deal with this issue. Since technically, the implementation in 0.4.9 is the "correct" way of getting per vertex tangent vector, I've decided to add a new control to allow users to toggle toggle between the "correct" behavior and nude mesh only "rotated" behavior for the private part. Two new controls via the drop-down box are as follows: -The "Recompute Tangents (RH)" mode is recommended when dealing with nude meshes or any mods that contain nude meshes as long as the normal mapping layout is the same or similar to Harry's. This is the mode where special handling is used to care for the sensitive part :bush: -The "Recompute Tangents (NM)" mode does the mathematically correct tangent calculation for all vertices. This works fine for official models or non-nude mods. Let's take a closer look at the kind of effect having correct tangents would have on the model. Take the Xmas outfit for Nyotengu for example - the official model has messed up tangents which can be fixed easily using my tool's post processing functionalities - The effect can be observed easily in game (screen capture courtesy of IshidaCorp) Her shoulders now have correct shading after the fix. I recommend using all of the post processing functionalities to repair models. The right most shot is done using all of my post processing functionalities and the shading on her wings is corrected as well as many other defects! Let's take a more "intimate" look at what this update is all about :bush: The lady part's shading is messed up when using "NM" mode to recalculate tangents since it does not take into account the special rotation of the lady part normal mapping. As a result, light appears to shine from the left side of the model. Using "RH" mode makes the shading look more natural. Closer look: Please note that after editing models in Blender, the same effect as "NM" can be observed on the tangents. It can be corrected using this tool easily as shown below: In-game comparison shots: The original RNM and Recomputed Tangents (RH) versions look very similar, whereas, the Recomputed Tangents (NM) has messed up lighting and shading. More shots of the juicy bumps as observed in game under various lighting conditions. I think I've stared at their lady parts long enough as part of this effort.. lol. timmyc Posted May 3, 2016 Author Posted May 3, 2016 Hi Timmy hope you are enjoying DOA as we are, I have a request (which i think is shared by many oppai lovers out there), Can you provide an Ultra Lethal H-lod skeleton pack for your amazing transformer? I am thankful for the useful user-defined feature which did help me create some personal taste mods, but still the vertex number matching is quite a hassle for modding beginners like me, i just cant imagine how easier life would be if the Ultra Lethal skeleton pack was there, even an instant same character mod can be created like from marie default to marie ultra lethal which will be great. If it is not much of a hassle i hope you can consider my request and thanks for your contributions Timmy. One more thing, YOU ROCK!! This request I am going to have to ask you to take a rain check for now, unfortunately. As much as I'd love to make new sets of references to cater to every taste out there, I have been spending way too much time on tool making, and now I think I got sick of DOA5 yet again lol.
lovislikefire Posted May 3, 2016 Posted May 3, 2016 Thanks a lot. This has been a worry of mine for a while. Lots of mods I've seen have this problem. Great work!

201193 Posted May 3, 2016 Posted May 3, 2016 Well it will be great if two of the modding titans unleash the rage again (by that i mean you and Saafie of course )
spoonfork Posted May 13, 2016 Posted May 13, 2016 Just wondering, I'm seeing a lot of really awesome mod "tests" posted by timmyc in here. Are these just "proof of concept" pics or are the actual mods available/ to be made available somewhere? Also, excellent work on developing tools and mods.

I've got a lot of failed experiments, but I might be able to clean some of them up for release should there be an interest.
timmyc Posted May 14, 2016 Author Posted May 14, 2016 Finally got around to updating my game to V1.6 and started using Autolink for the very first time Found a lot of old mods that might pique people's interest and made a few small updates here and there. Some of them are failed experiments, lol. I've got quite a few Leifang costumes since she's one of my favorites. Autolink's dressing room feature is awesome :bush:
.ISO Posted May 14, 2016 Posted May 14, 2016 Really nice, the designers choice mod is exactly what I failed to make
timmyc Posted May 15, 2016 Author Posted May 15, 2016 Due to a severe lack of good looking lingerie in this game, I made a sexy lingerie set derived from one of Leifang's outfits with see-thru fabric and a mishmash of various body parts :bush: Make one and reuse many times with my transformer tool Next step I think is to give each girl a custom color, but that is quite a bit of work, lol. I made two versions - one without stockings and one with stockings. Personally, I like them stockings Angry Dick Warning A bit of clipping to fix. Autolink has made mod deployment and testing so much easier. I think I can release another round of sexy Leifang collection or this lingerie series soonish 1

Lol, TBH there are so many good mods in this thread, but basically anything for Marie in her original bust size. I tried limiting the list to my top 5 only......yea, wasn't happening....but here they are in order of preference.....kinda..... Don't know the name but this one. I think I'd kill for this one easily. EDIT: won't let me post links so, POST # 207 on this thread. The jewel swimsuit with nipple piercings and tail feathers. smithgod Posted May 24, 2016 Posted May 24, 2016 I could not understand the whole Tutorials,it seemed so difficult, I needed more time to learn.
Holden - DOAHDM Posted May 28, 2016 Posted May 28, 2016 Would it be possible to create a collision data transfer/replace tool, or option in one of your existing tools? There seem to be a massive quantity of costume mods out there that have messed up collision data from not toggling the automatic collision data transfer option, or use the ABC transformer tool which seems to have no way of avoiding fucking up the collision data that I can see. Most of these issues can be resolved, or at least alleviated by using the original unmodified collision data and it would be nice if I could easily transfer it but I have no idea how.

TMC Bone Tool is the only tool for handling collision. But you must understand how it works before you fix it.

timmyc Posted June 6, 2016 Author Posted June 6, 2016 After a few weeks of break from DOA5, I just found that there is another DLC pack released on 05/25/16, and the file5lr.dat of the archive tool needs to be modified to open the new pack, so I updated my tools post to include a new file5lr.dat for Archive Tool 1.2.1 to open the latest DLC pack 468190 here in case any one needs it. The new pack looks rather interesting.
Ishidacorp Posted June 7, 2016 Posted June 7, 2016 Welcome back Timmy. And thanks for the up. Regarding the DLC... Yeah, looks TN made the right choices, this time.
zoidnoid11 Posted June 7, 2016 Posted June 7, 2016 Thanks for the updated dat file, and welcome back.
amras5584 Posted June 10, 2016 Posted June 10, 2016 Hi everyone. I tried to do the body reference for use the LUD body version to use with CharacterTransformerTool, but allways have the same problem and I can't solve. Anyone did this already and posible to share or teach me?? thanks a lot.

timmyc Posted June 28, 2016 Author Posted June 28, 2016 Took a really long break from DOA5 Glad to see that this forum is still full of activities. It seems that the breakable outfits are all the rage now, so I decided to try my hands at updating some of my old mods to the new standard Big thanks to C3S4RFC for the awesome discovery. However, as I was working on dusting off and updating my old mods, I found, yet again, some more bugs to fix in some of my tools, lol. I should probably have just stayed away from DOA5. Well, expect an update to the tools, if anyone still cares about them, very soonish to address issues where transforming and/or converting models could sometimes result in starfish models when editing complex models. I ran into some issues when making breakable outfits since these models are basically 2-3 models in one TMC file, so their complexity is a bit higher compared to regular outfits. With a bit more testing, I will release fixed tools. The fixes are rather minor. It was not working for models with different number of object groups compared to index groups (which rarely happens unless there are a lot of deleted objects in the TMC, which is quite common when making breakable outfits unfortunately) Without further ado, here are some of my WIP works. ANGRY DICK WARNING Kokoro Succubus Breakable Transformation Marie big breasted transformation Marie to Leifang overalls breakable transformation New take on Leifang's iconic swimsuit - now breakable :bush: It fits on Marie too :bush: Leifang Lingerie with breakable touch Leifang's panda outfit looks adorable on Marie - this breakage might be a bit over the top though :bush: Assuming I don't lose interest in the game again, these should see the light of day soon
