Am I mad trying to run eager with defeat?

 

I've been trying to reduce my unplayable combat lags.

 

It is now time to look at eager or defeat.

 

defeat seems buggy so it is on my drop list right now in favor of sexlab leveling.

 

both eager and defeat look at npc in the scene/cell. I think it is time to Defeat defeat.

 

having 5 to 10 npcs means script crawling and getting beat up with no way to defend.

 

I axed Defeat in favor of using Sexlab Leveling's surrender option to cut down on the scripting lag. I'd recommend grabbing Death's Alternative as well then turn black out option on in Leveling's MCM.

I have had the bug on the Trainers option with another mod, and with one of the simplier prostitute (youself) mod. 

 

It is something to do with the transition of the sex animations and a wonky stasis on various states that mods put the character in to allow the animation to go on dispute any button pushing.  Defeat does some other things, like not letting the character fight (beyond the time that is normal for the "cool down") and such. 

 

It is a bug that has more to do with interaction between SexLab, FNIS, and the mod transitioning the state from animation to game play. I hope that some bugs like this are less often seen after Sexlab irons out some things and other mods are updated. 

 

SLEN may not have anything to do with it, or have a part, but I believe some of this is a bug that had been around in previous versions of Sexlab and has returned (hopefully temperately) with the new 1.6 release.

I am currently in the process of adding some items, such as:

 

 

 

 

 

I am not the sort of modder who tells you to get the items from a chest in Whiterun though, so I had to add some stuff to create a quest for you to acquire these items. For this, I needed a location and some NPCs:

 

 

 

 

 

These NPCs and the location will be used for a number of (fairly simple) quests, with the items being the rewards for completing those quests. The quests will not be the standard "go there & kill stuff" sort of quests, but rather (obviously) a sort of "go there & fuck people" quests. Although the quests themselves will not be very hard to complete, in order to be able to start them you will need to have a minimum number of SLEN relationship increases, so keep fucking everything on 2 legs to prepare yourself!

 

Most of the physical stuff is done, I'm now busy adding quest stages and dialogues and such. As you can imagine this is all a lot more work than adding some potions or spells to existing vendors, so it's going to take a bit more time to get it to a state where I can release it. I only need to create most of this once though, as soon as I have the first quest finished I can release it and tack on additional quests for additional rewards utilizing the same location and NPCs in later updates. So stay tuned!

SLEN will run absolutely nothing at all during combat. Any slowdowns you might experience during combat or exploration (or any activity that isn't clearly a part of SLEN) are 100% certain not related to SLEN. I'm not sure why you think SLEN "looks at NPCs in the scene/cell" but I can promise you that is an entirely incorrect assumption. The only time SLEN will become active without you choosing to use a SLEN dialogue, spell or potion is when one of the 3 SLEN events occur (location cleared / wake up / dragon kill). All of these can be disabled in the MCM menu.

 

In addition, there is no conflict or overlap between SLEN and Defeat of any kind, so running them both is not a problem (assuming that running Defeat itself is not a problem).

Unfortunately for me it's breaking the game just after the animation ends. Funny thing is that it does work just fine for the "wake up" and "lovers" animations, but when i use this option for a complete stranger, the whole animation goes well, but when its done my char is frozen. I cant move, cant zoom in or out (stuck in 3rd person view), cant access inventory, map or anything, apart from menu. I tried killing all animations but it did not help.

 

No sure what may cause that, but all other LL mods seems to be working just fine.

 

Any ideas as to what could cause that?

 

I'm not sure what you mean with "but when i use this option for a complete stranger". Assuming you are talking about the dialogues, there is essentially no difference between using the dialogue with a lover or with a stranger, the only difference is your chance to charm them and the available sexual positions you can choose from. By the time your sex animation ends, SLEN is not actively doing anything anymore so any problem you experience at that point almost certainly cannot be related to SLEN. Typically problems with frozen controls are related to SexLab or any of the mods that react to animation start and animation end events (such as SLA, Nude Creatures).

@BeamerMiasma Thanks for making this mod, it's a solid evolution from things like Sexlab Romance. If I might make a request though, the singular feature that I miss from Romance was the option to have the NPC follow you to somewhere private after propositioning them (and them agreeing). Apologies if this has been already requested but I just found this mod last night and have not read the whole thread ><

I use Leveling and DA as well. Prefer it to Defeat, though I guess sometimes I might kinda occasionally like the option to do something with an enemy... but I can always load Puppet Master I guess. Mostly I like the avoidance of death-reload... and Leveling's points for stats are also really nice. I did go in and tweak some of the spell names though, so I have Dibella's Grace when naked and Nocturnal's Key and a few others I forget at the moment.

PS Beamer... that bow? Are we supposed to shoot people like Cupid? Cause that could be kinda fun.  Put the Matchmaker spells as effects on it, like the Bound Bow's conjured arrows with 0 damage. Heh Heh Heh

Initially it will just be a good bow with an enchantment that does damage based on the wielder's timerate (i.e. more sex = more damage) but eventually I plan to add gold and lead arrows like Cupid's yes, as soon as I've reverse engineered Auriel's bow far enough to be confident about how to do it

would be cool if there was some more flirting options and animations, say foreplay. So now i keep talking to an npc and quite soon (if i succeed) i have plenty of sex options; i personally would enjoy to play more before... what about a hug, a kiss, some petting options before the real thing

 

on the other side i am a little confused if i do not succeed; so i can talk and talk, have quite some speech (say 80 or so with buffs) and no chance at all; but then i can bribe her for peanuts (~50 gold) with instant success what seems a little unbalanced (maybe there could be an option to turn the bribe off in the future)

 

for some reason i can't use the shout(s) (-> ctd) though sometimes it works, but i can do easy without

 

nice side effect i like that npc change their favourized partner gender over time (at least some do)

 

one minor thing i can't solve, is getting Anska; for some reason she is male and the NPC editor says she is fox race; even if i changed the race and forced her gender, i can't get her even into friend state, no matter how much i bribe and screw her; the recent partner log calls her "npc error" -  probably a Skyrim bug

He's a nice guy as well, when lovers are too dry in their backdoors for intense reamings, he's kind enough to allow them to provide saliva as lubrication occasionally, and if they still crawl into a fetal state and do nothing but cry, he gives them a nice massage with his boot until they fall asleep for a while. Once when he broke into a farmer's house and they argued the loss of their men would leave them unable to tend their crops, he provided both the widow and her daughters with new sexy baby-bumps, ready to get to work in a dozen years at most. Until then he's promised them ten septims per hole they offer, per day! That's the spirit of generosity, those will be the richest farmers this side of Nazeem's widow.

And the guards just love that armor as well, when he walks by them they make encouraging comments like "Ugh, that armor smells like death, have you been grave-robbing?" ALso the gauntlet is great for when the lover says she's too tight there (wherever "there" is) for his oversized dick, he provides her a nice fisting and she doesn't complain any more. Well she doesn't complain next time, provided she survives, and definetly doesn't complain if she didn't! Plus, it's sanitary, do you know how many germs are on the human hand? I'm sure there's a lot less on my gauntlet, even after I punched that troll to death.

I'll see about adding some kissing or hugging options, however the default animations are seriously lacking in romance, most of the kissing is just a short precursor to the hardcore stuff, so I don't really consider making it a requirement. The Skyrim I promote is one where everyone fucks wherever, whenever and however they want, and then call it worshipping a Divine - kissing is for married people If you just like to see foreplay before a sex scene, there is an option for that in the SexLab MCM menu.

 

Anska is a leveled character, she is not a Unique actor. Only unique actors can become friends/lovers through SLEN, so if you want to have her, you would need to make her a Unique actor in the CK (which might break her quest, blow up the world, void all warranty, I dunno). The reason her race shows as FoxRace is because she comes from a leveled list which can contain any number of different races, so her race is not known until she is actually spawned in world. FoxRace just happens to be the race with the highest FormID, which causes it to show up in the Race box on her Traits tab, it's not because she's actually a fox

 

Some have reported that unpacking the sound files from the BSA gets rid of the CTD problem for them. I will remove the compression from the archive on next release, that might help some.

 

The SexLab gender preference is reactive, not proactive. A straight NPC who has a lot of same-sex scenes will eventually turn bi, then gay, and vice versa. Most start out straight but close to the bi mark, so indeed you can convince them to switch teams if you charm them often enough

I dont seems to be running with any problems like that with other sex mods, hence I thought it must be related to this one (I'm not a modder so Im just assuming things).

Do you have automatic free cam turned on in the SexLab options? This option, when turned on, seems to cause the problems with locked controls for some people in SexLab 1.60. If you have that turned on, try turning it off and switching to free cam mode with the hotkey instead.

Many people (including yours truly) have no interest in NPCs taking initiative and in fact might find the mechanisms used for such functionality very annoying (or maybe that is just yours truly ). 'Demanding' will most certainly never be a part of it, that's not what this mod is about as the first paragraph of the description clearly states. If you want NPCs to approach you, or NPCs to sexually interact with each other on their own initiative, then there are plenty of mods to find that already do this and which can be used next to SLEN without problems.

I feel like I have to support BeamerMiasma here. Even though I understand people wanting to limit their mods' load, so they seek a mod that offers as much as possible, I'd still prefer that other mods handle PC being approached by NPCs. Dooge listened to players' demand and added this to his SexLIfe and now the very element seems to be the most annoying option in the great otherwise mod. BTW, someone in SLSL thread asked for a mechanism to make PC approach an NPC when s/he is aroused enough...

Sometimes it is best for modders not listen to requests, especially when users forget to be careful what they wish for .

I like SLEN the way it is, true to its description and purpose. Again thank you, Beamer, for your work, keep it up.

Yeah I agree with the no approach, I like approach on some profiles but on most they become annoying or bugged, taking too mcuh resources. Spectators and and approach and the like is one of the best ways to kill your save, it's good if you don't really care about periodically restarting your game because you're only playing a level 1-10 TGM'ed sexbot but don't use those mods otherwise...

Don't worry, I will fiercely protect SLEN from becoming a resource hog. Skyrim is not a sex game for me, but an open world RPG with adult elements. The last thing I want is any sex related script-cloaks running while I am exploring, questing, or trying to complete the Master Criminal achievement on Legendary difficulty as a Nord Illusion/Alteration mage in Whiterun during a Holiday with only a stray dog at my side. Having the user initiate things is a solid way to achieve that.

 

I don't mind looking into a potion, spell or piece of equipment that allows you to declare yourself 'open for business' so to speak, but as I said there's a ton of stuff I can still do that actually adds original new content, rather than offering an alternative way to get something you can already get through the dialogues. Currently things like that are so far down the priority list that I cannot guarantee it will be done in my lifetime.

Untamed has an option to automatically start a new sex scene at the end of the previous one, going on endlessly until you press a hotkey. I think it's called "Jerk-off mode".

thanks for explaining (and the holiday link there are truly no or poor animations (i remember the bathing beauty hug what looks more like an accident); i was just thinking too much real life where the casanova sometimes is more like a hunter and gatherer, getting the kicks by successes, how far he can go and often enough it is just fine when he "got her"; for an example maybe someone knows the situation when you talk the woman in (the harder it is the more interesting) and after some hard hours you finally got her number but... do you call ?^^ Nope. Got the achievement (a number is kind of a yes) and was successful and there is a whole world of women waiting for you. No time for calling next say shit
