What music do you listen to?

No idea why (It's the exact same beat, doofus.), but 0:11-0:44 in the first one just reminded me very much of the second one, almost as if it were an intro.  (Sigh.  Really?  Come on now!  Think.)

(It's about Rainbow Factory. This song, in its true context, and Rainbow Factory, its inspiration, perhaps(?) in the spoiler. WARNING: Pony pain, and lots of blood.)

And Rainbow Factory, SFMed:

Oo, another one I've fallen down the rabbit-hole of is Clipping.
I think I'm just a sucker for complex lyricism, what can I say?

Clipping's "Body and Blood" is so bloody - lol - good.

When it comes to music, Spotify tells me I'm a lot into alternative/art rock, been getting into hyperpop too. Electric Six for me, remains such an underappreciated gem in terms of "I've been listening to you for like 10 years and yeah I look out for new releases" (they have great shitposts, "Gay Bar", "High Voltage", but dang, if you're a person who likes paying attention to words, they're so so good).

Also hey hey hi Childish Gambino mention!

So this song has to be in my personal top ten , Das Elfte Gebot (the 11th commandment). Great music, awesome lyrics.

Lyrics, translated into english:

The last battle is fought grey, heavy dust rolls over barren land

Yet you lay there on a bier

Besides you the reaper grins

He quoths to you, asks for the truth,

How you do and if you are happy.

For the eleventh bidding commands to live life to the fullest

As if death would take us tomorrow (x2)

Thus tells us the eleventh bidding.

Of the biddings ten are carved in stone.

The reaper's holding tribunal

God is dead, I remain.

And my bidding shall be the eleventh

For the eleventh bidding commands to live life to the fullest

As if death would take us tomorrow (x2)

Thus tells us the eleventh bidding.

For the eleventh bidding commands to live life to the fullest

As if death would take us tomorrow

The eleventh bidding inspires us to love and to burn bright like a dying star - Thus tells us the eleventh bidding.

The eleventh bidding

That is not dead which can eternal lie and with strange aeons even death may die

For the eleventh bidding commands to live life to the fullest

As if death would take us tomorrow take us tomorrow take us tomorrow

The eleventh bidding inspires us to love and to burn bright like a dying star - Thus tells us the eleventh bidding.

Another all-time favourite:

One of the only reasons I was a bit jealous of West Coast sailors.

You were Navy?  Don't mean to pry.

Yes, carrier sailor on the east coast.

This was the number one song for the month that I reported onboard.

BTW that movie has him being shot down over FRY (former republic of Yugoslavia) but.....that is a west coast carrier and a west coast squadron.   The letters on the tail stabilizer indicates the fleet and the air wing (for the most part there are a couple of exceptions).   So, the first letter is fleet (Atlantic = A, Pacific = N) the second letter indicates air group (A =1st air group, B= 2nd air group, etc.)     Also, even numbered Nimitz class carriers operate out of the west coast (CVN-70 (Carl Vinson) is the sister ship to my ship (D.D. Eisenhower, CVN-69).

Anyway, Hollywood figures not many would care, and didn't bother to go to the Ike or the Lincoln to film the carrier shots.......as only East coast carriers operated in the Adriatic.

Yep, there are a few people   It was funny how the reactor department on an SSN (sub) was the size of our Reactor Operator division.  Our Reactor Dept was about the same size as teh whole crew of the SSN.

I found them not too long ago and I'm really digging their stuff, especially when they got something of a melody going instead of just raping their instruments like so many other bands do...
