Star Wars: lunchboxes, sheets, curtains, underwear

I don't think he went THAT far! ))) But, a child of the 1960's, race to the moon, and liking sci fi, he enjoyed, and still enjoys that kind of thing. He was perhaps 14 or 15 years when that came out. Too old for lunchboxes, and probably just starting to figure out that girls aren't icky!!! )))

Now that you mention it, yes, I see the ninja gloves on Luke! I have seen the Leia outfit at Venus Princess.

Downloaded the Sims 2 Strangetown World Redux for the Sims 3; Decided to play my vampire Lillith Dusk there to try and 'turn the town' for a change of pace. Not even going to bother to CAS the residents as I usually do....  It's just a buffet to her for this save series - then I can save her to the bin for placement as an Inactive later on.

Testing male heels to see if I wanted to get serious about editing them to be a proper height without using a slider to raise the sim had me downloading 'again'. I also picked up the final store town - Roaring Heights and the Boardwalk (rollercoaster). I'll need to play this town a bit to get a feel for the style - reminds me of the early-mid 20th century while the geography feels like a city set in Cocoa Beach Florida (Cape Canaveral/Nasa). This would make it the proper setting to play my "I Dream of Jeannie" household.

Plus some shots from the College Campus before I cloned the Sim to use in Roaring Heights

Okay then - I've made my Major Nelson, and he just 'rubbed the lamp'. Of course I needed to stop and customize the Genie, but this looks like it's going to be fun.

Hadn't played my 'Fire Chief" save in quite some time: Considering how much NEW CC I've acquired since then, I've been able to re-invigorate the save while enjoying the daily life of a stud fireman with his high school live-in girlfriend.

@landess

Where do you get the Alfred Hitchcock sims?

He looks so realistic, and it seems doesn't required special skin.

A high quality sims actually.

Can you sent the sim file to me thru PM?

Thank you...!!!

He probably has the one of the 'Real skins'. Other than that it's just being judicious with the use of sliders and keeping a few pictures of the subject on an open browser/tabs to swap back and forth. Because it's the Sims, getting close and trying to hit certain features like cartoonist's do is the best I can achieve. Same with many of my 'porn' stars. Sometimes the likeness is uncanny to me, while other times it's close enough for handgrenades. I have opened a 'how to share sims' page but first must load the save with him to save to the CAS bin and create a .sim file. I'll be glad to share it here on the page and may remove it after several weeks with a note for others.

Okay, back and will include snip-shots of the custom skin/sliders used. Luckily for 'me' I used very few custom sliders when making him.

Went ahead and converted the Sims3Pack to .package, but not sure how that will work - at least it's easy to remove :)

Looks like I may have used a chin width slider as well.....  Bah! the more I look the more CC I see - Uneven eyebrow rotation sliders as well as CC eyebrows.

You and some others here have nice Sims created. We should have something like a "Share your Sim" thread for posting them.

You can't never have enough Sims for populating worlds.

Thank you. I enjoy creating Sims, but if I have to populate an empty world - it can feel like work. While I don't mind sharing Sims at all, I worry that because of ALL the CC I use, that the sim won't look the same for someone else, and that's the point after all isn't it?

While sharing a sim via a .sim file will try to make the same sim, without any extra sliders, Skin textures, Make-up, Hair, or other CC used, it will fail as a proper 'clone'. While I'm unsure about how others share sims WITH all the CC, I know one must be careful in acquiring CC in this fashion as unlike regular mods/packages, there is no direct way to affect this extra CC. This can result in a players game being 'infected' with bad CC, or duplicate CC.

Many mod downloads will list CC used in a creation, so the user can find and install it normally to keep control of the game. Now I hope using a converted Sims3Pack to a .package may allow use of CC 'included' with a Sim without causing issues of 'removal', since comparing file sizes leads me to believe CC is included in a Sims3Pack/.package compared to the file size of a .sim file. I have no way to test this myself without having a 2nd version installed on another device/system which doesn't already have the CC being used.

I would be interested in knowing if someone using the Alfred Itchcock .package file does indeed get extra sliders by using it, and 'if' those sliders disappear when the file is removed from the package folder. I know the Cmar height slider was used and can easily be identified as such. Someone not using it already would have to test to see.

>>>>If this was the case - All CC used by a Sim uploaded as a .package was included, AND was removed when the Sim .package was removed - Then I would have a shitload of custom sims I'd be more than comfortable sharing.

Found and decided to link this post: I use many of these Sims. They are done fantastically, BUT as I mentioned, a lot of new CC was introduced into my game - Skin tones, hairs, make-up, of which I like it all, yet with many having bodies shaped with extreme CAS settings (beyond the 256 default value for sliders) I must also share many of the same custom sliders as well, so unable to tell if I would've gotten the same ones through these downloads. I noticed the file sizes for these in the .sim files was much larger than any of my own sims saved, and I don't know why this is at this time. I do know when opening the save sim bin in CAS that the game will take awhile to show the portraits of these sims....

Having re-downloaded the big Mega File again just to check - all these are uploaded as .sim files, and the size is much larger than mine, so I have yet to understand how he managed to get the CC included into a .sim file....

One can look at the files sizes in my folder - the ones that are obviously larger are from this download.

While waiting on SFS (Sims File Share) to get their shit together, I was able to find some American Native CC elsewhere. https://awesomesims.tumblr.com/

So now my newest Sim - Dawn Morning Dew is active in Appaloosa Plains with her Mustang - Bandito Starr, and she's ready to show these pasty white Europeans how to race a horse. I'll be sure to post some juicy pics as she gets settled. (Yes, she lives in a tent)

Also while surfing for CC I saw this picture among others for some hat accessories downloads - somethings are too good not to share -

Well, that is really huge...

Never thought about the massive count of custom content for a Sim. I'm sure most people have  a bunch of sliders, like me, installed for default. So most  cc will be clothes, hairs, make-up and accessories. If I share as Sim I only use no cc to create them for avoiding that.

But all this was just a stupid idea of me.

Story Progression uses Sims from the SavedSims folder for the Immigration option so far as I know. So I don't really thaought of populating a whole world per hand.

Why say that - many people would like to have the sims others create. I've never tried it before, and my 'meticulous' nature causes me to ask many questions, even if they're to myself, concerning the proper form to do things. I saw how to both share .sim files, and how to use the export feature to create Sims3Packs (supposedly to upload through the launcher). The Sims3Pack is much larger than the .sim file for the same sim (Alfred). Converting the Sims3Pack to a .package file kept the size relatively the same, so without being able to install them in my game (since it came from my game) and being able to check exactly what the differences may be in the 2 files, I'm kinda left hanging....

This is why I mentioned someone else whom doesn't have the Cmar height slider could easily check to see if either file would include it as CC. If one does, it's likely the large file, and that means Skin tone, hair (eyebrows), make-up and other CC may be included. This means the character WOULD look the same. As a .package file though, I can't say if removing it would also remove the CC that came with it - That's a big question. 2nd, I don't know how the files (from the link I posted) I used which were installed as .sim files DID include CC since, my Alfred's .sim file is so small yet does use a little CC, and the export file - Sims3Pack/.package file is so much larger.

If I could get solid answers to these 2 questions, then if safe, I'd gladly start a new post to upload Sims, with instructions for others to also safely do it and add to the downloadable library being started.

This is why I feel the Alfred.sim file would be safe for someone to test, since there is minimum CC used and if they couldn't be removed by 'deleting' the Alfred.package, then minimum harm would be done as he only has a custom skin, a couple sliders and eyebrows that aren't default. These being left in someones game if .package removal failed shouldn't be a big concern and some form of testing needs to be done before I'll proceed.

The only way I know that might help, would be to merge everything from a CC Sim into one package, and then have a sub-folder inside Packages, that held only the merged CC Sims packages. I know landess would then want to merge those into one, and archive everything else!

OY!!! Especially TS4! I'd say more than half of the content on the TS4 downloads pages are Sims... all probably full of sliders to make the Sim look as it does, and other things that you may already have. Others, perhaps not so much...

@landess: I've tested something with your Alfred. First I used the *.sim version of it without any custom sliders in my game, and it worked. He looks exact like he should. So you don't have to care about sharing sliders. Only the cc was missing.

Second I installed the *sims3pack of it, and surprisingly the cc was also installed (skin and some other weird stuff too) even when it was not showed in the Launcher. That is why the *.sims3pack version is about 9 MB.

Exporting a Sim as *sims3pack includes cc right?

This is what I'm guessing, Skins/sliders/make-up/hair, and possibly accessories ( Several of the Sims from that link I provided included accessory tattoos ).

Because of the nature of removing Sims3Packs (very difficult - PITA) I had hoped one converted to a .package would work the same -AND- the CC included would be removed if the Player removed the Custom Sim.package for the mods/packages folder........  Since you've used the Sims3Pack, There's no way to test the .package without going through a headache, but THANK YOU for using it and doing a confirmation.

Would you mind explaining 'weird stuff'? I forget that most all sims I make also have several custom outfits and am thinking this is what you may mean... If so, then I'll know more about how to prepare a Sim for sharing. (I can just make them naked in every clothing category)

This was my problem the very first time I merged - I'll never do that again! Without going into detail, it just makes it near impossible to properly update.

I know the Sims 3 can read MANY mod file addresses quickly, but as it approaches the thousands, it 'can' get a bit time consuming. I prefer to now make several 'mini-merges' either by combining the CC of only one author, or making smaller merges based on CC types (clothing/hair/world objects/build-buy). I don't feel that it takes long at all to read say 20-30 merged.package addresses as opposed to: If every piece of CC I used was separate.

I hope others learn from my mistake and make multiple/separate merges for their CC.

The location of the height slider is shown above with the download.

Thank you! Some is my originals, some is altered CC made by others, and some is straight by others. A problem to uploading much if it is that so much is in merged packages, and the original creator did not label his/ her work inside the package, making it hard to properly give credit.

I've never tried, but I believe it's almost like a created world type of thing when done as a sims3pack, so yes... sliders and everything are included, and using Delphy's multi extractor tool, helps, but again... if not labeled, hard to pick out everything.

I'm all too familiar with merging packages and not doing it correctly, and then not being able to find something that got broken to remove it!!!!!! ((((((((( That's why I mentioned as you now archive everything you merge... as do I... now.
