Creating a world for OKW

Lungpaul: does it work in fleabottom?

 

fresh game, no other mods then the ones required for OKW.

tested out with sunset valley and everything works fine.

testing out with fleabottom:

registering school works, registering teacher works. teacher shows up and do her work, but students go to school 2 hours before teacher. No pupil attends the teachers classes, and no one eats at lunch. podium, whiteboard, desk and chair for teacher, and tables with chairs for pupils in one room. buffe and tables with chairs in another room, promroom with tables and chairs, dancefloor, buffe,2 reclinerchairs and a stereo in the third room.

got several errors/bluescreens. will give them to oniki to check out.

Registering went fine again, popped me the "New School" message for three teens (don`t have more at this time) and accepted her neighbour as the prof.

 

16 minutes to next day, will have to speed this up a bit.

 

Edit: nope, nothing. Still no errors or bluescreens; switched to a teen-household said they would skip school.

 

Removed the original Fleabottom Educational, we`ll see if that works.

 

Edit 2: School bus showed up, teen moved to school, then it`s again skipping. The prof went to work.

What am I missing??

maraas i use fleebottom all the time and it works perfectly jolie i did not remove anything which school are you using i am using the one you modded for me the teens skipping message usually clears once the professor starts letchering hope this info helps

Made a prototype-school to see, how this works; class-, lunch-, bath-, prom-room.

What should the prof`s hours be, like 11:00-16:30?

 

Maraas, you have the same hours for your prof? Would explain the students 2 hours earlier.

oh I`ve always done it the other way around. turn on kinky school and _then_ register school. The thing is...it works in sunset valley?

Yes the prof does have from 11-16.30, where as the students show up at 9 and goes home 14. and they do not attend classes(even getting skipping school message although they are there). I tried using LP`s school, instead of the copied and modified school you have in the world. But i have always had two schools. one with rug and one registered with kinky...Thinking i needed that since kinky school only applies to teens?

I need a teaspoon-feeding-guide  on how to do this school thing obviously :/

Okay, I`ll try turn-on-then-register, if it worked in Sunset Valley, it should work in Fleabottom too ( so we think....).

first make sure the school is not enabled in KW then you make the school then enable the KW school and then you can register the professors one for each room with the whiteboard and podium

I must have done it right in sunset valley, and I know i did it the other way around in fleabottom. So you are allowed to do it: smack me in the head and yell NOOOB!

So now you have seen all the buildings and detail that Jolie has created, download, download and download.  What's stopping you?

I was going to ask OregonRain if it was possible to add the new stuff to her Onikikay FAQ.

 

 

I think the way to get a school started is:

1 Enable Kinkymod but don't enable the school yet

2 delete the EA rabbithole school if present on the map

3 Create a school, making sure you have prom room, cafeteria, classroom(s), and add the school rug. (This works perfectly in my town: Younger kids go to in school, then disappear on the rug. The older ones go to class.)

4 Register school. Do not close the "new school" notifications for teens.

5 enable KW highschool

6 register teacher(s)

7 find one male and one female teenager to set the uniform. Having kept the new student announcements helps a lot.

 

After doing all the above, I can see stuff going on in the school. 

 

 

My open questions:

 

Janitor role: According to Onikikay on Patreon, the High School has a Janitor role. I haven't seen anything labelled "Janitor" so far. But then I just bought University Life so possibly the Janitor role needs an additional rug or something?

 

 

My additional notes:

 

It's not a good idea to play an evil insane rapist sim, then make him a teacher and switch families.

(The teacher is in jail, so his students are in school but can't find a class to attend because the other classroom is full. I'd been hoping for more of a "teacher follows student after school, does unspeakable things, doesn't get caught" or "student is summoned to the headmaster's study, oh my" type story )

 

It's not the best idea to play a sim, give her Exhibition 5, then make her a teacher and play another family. (The teacher walks around in her undies, which seems to cause the teenagers to stand up a lot instead of following classes.)

 

Going to China with High School active will throw a few debug notices, but everything continues working fine.

Hey Yotix   Hope things are well for you.  Just saw your post above and I do agree an update is in order.  Downside, I usually use three day weekend holidays (which I don't get often for the company I work for) to do this when I pour over all of the topics.  I don't have any extra days off (vacation time) until towards the end of March.  I will definitely try to get it done then if you can have some patience with me?  I've taken a screen shot of your above questions/suggestions so that I can most certainly try to address those in the next update.

Janitor: I was just stupid - I'd seen the notification for build 297, forgot to install it, wondered why I can't find a janitor. The option does appear now. And 100x thanks for that tutorial

Hm. My last game in Fleabottom seems corrupted: The Schoolhouse rug offers all careers in the game.

(The school shows up as three red dots, one for the rug and two for Kinky's Professor and Janitor I suppose. The rug has all the playable professions listed.)

This happened after I populated the town, assigning careers and career levels to families I'd moved in.

 

So now I'm kinda interested whether anyone else get this problem ... 

My best explanation is that I may have assigned a sim to a career that Fleabottom does not have a rug for.

Thanks! Onikikay confirmed on Patreon that putting any Career object (door or rug) inside the Kinky School causes problems, so I just need to delete that rug I hope.

[Darkening Demise]

Performance is actually good in this world, especially with KW enabled which likes to hinder it. Only complaint is it appears lots seem unfinished/under furnished. Anyone also know where the restaurant rabbit hole is? Can't wait to see what's next.

I think the under furnished world is intentional, as people can easier choose themself how much "extra" they want to add. Some people have old machine and can`t handle heavy worlds. I also don`t think there is a restaurant.I`ve made one myself and added.
