Creating a world for OKW

Hm. Maybe we could offer a 2nd, bigger download where everything isn't quite so empty?

 

In all three games I've started on this map, I spent hours decorating lots and creating sims to populate the world with ... then got bored and started over in a populated town.  

 

And I think I did the same decoration steps in each of my games:

1) add a radio to each empty house so if my sim ever does Callgirl jobs she'll be able to dance

2) build a Kinky School or import my Kinky School lot

3) Toilet and showers in the gym

4) Add some couches, TVs, dinner tables and similar stuff to the various shops

5) Fix the inaccessible stairs in one of the subway stations

6) Add seed spawners and some Outdoor Fun items to parks

7) Create a dozen households, use Nraas Masterontroller to give them jobs and job levels

8) lose interest and start a new game in Moonlight Falls

So there's no restaurant or military rabbit holes? I also cannot find a cemetery lot.

Reckon those are still being worked on?

Also hoping for resident lots with a bit more space in the future so I can own a car, since TS3, unlike in real life, you can't park a car on the side of the road.

I just checked the snap shots I had taken of Fleabottom and I do not see the Military or Restaurant (you had me wondering if I missed something).  I do know the answer to the Cemetery but do not know if I am at liberty to say so I will leave that to Jolie to answer.  I'm attaching the map view pics of Fleabottom here so you can see the buildings that are available. 

 

I believe you could modify the Better Basic Home (three level home w/rooftop space) to allow a garage.  There's plenty of room for bedrooms/bathrooms and other modifications there.  This is actually my favorite of the two living spaces available in Fleabottom.

 

Looking at the pic of the three level home, you could take out the ground level windows and put the garage door there as well a parking pad.  Use cement tiling to bring it to the street as if a driveway and then put a bedroom or something else behind the garage in the back of the home.  That's just my thoughts on it

I've just tested my idea and it worked.  I'm attaching pics of the modifications you can do.  It looks like it will only work with the Better Basic Home since the cheaper smaller home is on a raised foundation, unless you know how how to do raised driveways (which I do not).  I hope this helps solve your parking issue

 

In the third pic it shows extra space that can be utilized as an extra bedroom (bunkbeds or single beds), bathroom, study or whatever you can fit back there.

Found another way to solve your parking situation Darkening   I took the fence and windows and walls out in the front and placed a parking pad down from the sidewalk into the house (it was the smaller one).  Then I put the truck down and it appears as a semi covered carport.  This allows more room in the back of the house to be utilized for whatever strikes you.   I did think of putting columns down to make it look like support but it would obstruct the car doors so I opted not to.

Something is messing up my game....again.

Moving everything to a new folder for the x-th time, the boring part is reinstalling and waiting.

This time I lost the Double Better Basic Home (not 100% sure), but saved the Library, the Salon and the Botshop; so don`t wonder about half finished and under furnished lots, that`s just me rescuing what can be rescued (aside from reducing file size).

 

If everything went okay, I`ll have a new version with the lots mentioned and some empty residential lots added to test.

Aside from my game going all crazy on me, filesize has reached 99.something mb zipped and 150 mb unzipped.

 

I don`t know how to fix the game; the 99 mb will take me around 4 hours of uploading, that`s not funny, so you`ll have to wait some time for me to get to a better (and faster) connection.

 

I guess you know, filesize is limited to 100 mb, so, we have reached the limit.

You can use MEGA for uploading the files above 100 MB. Then you just post the link into download section. That's what some modders here are doing with their large size mods.

Yeah, the game is working again, a social something was broken and made a mess of my save games and everything.

Just got me 7zip, said to have a better compression rate than winrar, could save me from uploading to some file sharing site.

 

Edit: 7zip gets it down from 99 to 89 mb. Hm.

 

Edit2: 187 mb goes down to 104. Any ideas on the last 5 or 6 mb??

ok, so i promised JR to post some more pics of my modified buildings, (already posted some of the bookstore/foodshop/massage-sexshop earlier)

 

It is not anything remarkable about it, but here goes:

I`ve placed and modified "the grind"

 

I`ve modified the theater so that my Big Mafiaso can launder his money and hide his shady businesses..

The scene goes over three floors

The ground floor also has a very overpriced restaurant

And a kiosk for popcorn and soda

I was not able to get a screens of the other floors. The second floor has balconies overviewing the scene; for the VIPs, toilets and a secret adultmoviemaking-room(entrance from the back)

The topfloor is for the Mafiaso and his friends and has a big balcony overviewing the scene, bedroom, bar, steambath etc .

 

Then we have the criminal hideout:

A hall, some simple beds for the prostitutes to do their business, the bosses office, a casino with entrance to the back for customers not being able to pay their debts.

And of course some bags of concrete etc in the backyard to make the poor sods able to "swim with the fishes"
