Carida Posted May 15, 2015 Posted May 15, 2015 Indeed, I'm curious as to how TW3 will reference TW1-2's saves, because so far no reviews seem to have brought this up, especially given the radically different ways you can play TW2 towards the end. I really hope these choices matter on some level in the new game. I know you can choose this "via dialogue" in TW3, but does anyone know how it works if you have the save? Do you need TW1-2 installed? Because I stored the saves and deleted them a while ago to make space. I doubt it will have much impact. There is the console-issue, and I don't expect them to make much concessions to the PC-Version in that regard . And if Mass Effect taught us anything then that you can never have a game with multiple possible endings and choices etc, and have them really impact the next game. Despite some little dialogue-changes here and there maybe... So it probably doesn't matter if you joined Roche or Iorveth, if Henselt got away, or if you found out what was up with the dragon ... or under which circumstances the war exactly broke out. But maybe CD Red surprises me here? I'm over thirty too, not old Hmm I think I am in act 2.. its where he has to kill the thingie with all the tentacles with the witch. I had to stop playing cause it was 5am and I had to get up in a few hours lol this is why the witcher takes me so long, I always feel like I can't stop LOL Alrighty I will finish 2 than before I start in on 3. And to make things worse for you: If you really want to know all sides of the story and secrets revealed one has to play Act 2 again, yet with making a different decision in Act 1 ... reading the novels and shorts is not really required, but they are a fun read. Not too high as lord of the rings, or Song of Ice and Fire. But straight to teh point and with a lot of irony, sex, swearing, killing, and popcultural references, or maybe more fairytale-references...But it might also be a strategy to first play the games, then maybe read the books/stories - for that "Oh THAT was what Triss was talking about, and THAT was how Geralt met Yennefer"-effect ... Damn, I would love to spoiler everything ! LOL that actually makes it mmore fun than, that means I have that much more to play. And I will finally kill that thingie tonight! Probably... >.> lol but eh 3 isn't going anywhere, isn't even officially released and as excited as I am for it, I'm not in -that- much of a rush. Just means there's all the more game to play! So YAY! I'll see if I find the books on amazon or something lol it is always nice to know to what characters are referring to in the game, else one feels like the outsider. Thank you again~ -C

The shame of it is I won't be able to actually play the game until Saturday the 23rd, as I am on a work deadline all next week. Pretty sad as I got super excited for those amazing particles in the 2013 trailers. I just know some people are going to break their puny angry fists on their keyboard reading that they purposely downgraded the PC version to keep it on the same level of quality as the console versions while threatening to "boycott" the entire company for this, but hey whatever.Still buying the shit out of it right now : let it not be said that this guy right here will be a mopey, petty little fuck just because of one or two obvious downgrades. I'm hyped as never before since Morrowind and Quake 3 (yeah that much), and all the testing blogs on the interwebz are just feeding that hype with fresh charcoal. 3 days !!!

It's 2015 right now, people should get used to this. Looks like the first book on the saga concerning the relationship between Ciri and Gerald, which looks pretty damn useful if you are a little lost in the story line and/or didn't play the last two games/don't want to play them again. Translation looks good, a tad bit too many metaphors but I guess it's just the Polish way, hard to translate all their images and comparisons in a less word-y language like English.

Personally I have to say this whole "downgrade"-drama is of little to no interest to me. I can barely judge how good graphics are anyway. For me TW2 still looks gorgeous, but then, I also think Skyrim looks great And though I like CD Red as a company, I cannot help but feel a little, just a little bit amused that the "little internet fucktards" now piss on them a bit as well, and not just the usual suspects. The praise CD Red received, as if almost the new messiah of gaming, always rubbed me the wrong way. Still, they are no Ubi-EA, but it seems the rules of market and capitalism has and will affect them, too. And yeah, for me DAI was the only really good game of 2014 and does not deserve half the shit (despite obvious flaws) it received, often with mocking from the pure Witcher 3-our-saviour-fancrowd. So also in this regard I like the "controversy", bringing down CD Red or more so their fanatical fans, a bit down to Earth again. Or, to sum it all up: First-World Problems at their finest And now I wanna play the damn game already...doesn't help they show those commercials on TV, Geralt frying a griffon...damn, damn, damn

I'm part of the "PC Master Race," as are most of us here--or else we wouldn't be able to mod our Skyrim, Fallout and/or Oblivion games--but there are others who undermine everything NON-PC. If PC versions of games don't look like native Ultra 4K before release, there'll be groans and complaints from the "Master Race."

As Jersey pointed out we're not really entering their argument here as we all still belong to the PC gamers community (I'd be well fucked if I say I'm from the "PC Master Race", this joke has to die now). So you may have misunderstood the subject at hand here, we're not having the usual console vs PC argument in any way, but actually saying this whole argument is retarded because of it's consequences. It's not just "some trouble" : right now everything said on the internet about a product can have a real effect on it, and the company behind it too. People don't trust game companies as much as they did back in the day, with a community centered around reviews, articles, notations, polls, streams, forums and whatnot, those kinds of arguments can have a really negative effect on a company trying to advertise it's game. And now we have a bunch of fucktards everywhere crying for their "PC only HD patch" that would restore everything that CDPR downgraded in the past 2 years on the PC version, saying the game is now "crap" just because they can't see blood splatters in the water. I can totally see the crappy notations on Metacritic and other websites of that kind from those douches who'll rate the game a flat zero because they go full retard at the mere mention of the word "downgrade". Those notations do have a real effect on sold copies of the game too, because of what I mentioned earlier : people now check twice before buying a game, and the predownloading is not helping that much in that regard. Trolls and morons are cute and all, just not when the little fun they're having starts to effect talented teams of developers in some sort of fucked up chain reaction.

First impressions, looks good, but you won't be happy if you have an ATI/AMD rig that isn't top of the line. Even on ultra I'm seeing quite a few graphical anomalies, including a curious lack of AA and an annoying tessellation effect going on with certain materials. (ATI Radeon 7970 3GB, 12GB DDR 3 RAM, AMD Bulldozer FX 8 Core 3.1 GHz) EDIT 1: On ultra with everything on max got a constant 20 or so FPS dropping to 10 and on low a steady 55-60. Medium netted me around 30-35. EDIT 2: Disabling the nVidia Hair setting netted me an additional 8-10 FPS on ultra bringing it to around a playable 25-30 FPS. Combat is also going to take a while to get used to...

Combat is also going to take a while to get used to... Using AMD GPU here no problems. I just came from guru3d with topic for The Witcher 3 and it seems many Nvidia have problems. My game runs avarage 45 fps on 1440p and hair works! Nividia guys have crashes seems SLI not working properly. So far im pleased i can live with graphics and how smooth it runs.
