One problem with integrating mods with existing groups like the Companions, is the risk of breaking a vanilla quest line. For example, I know from a test I did a while back that simple increasing relationship rank with one of the companions breaks the entire quest. So, you would have to condition the integration to start after the quest line is finished - which is what Isle of Mara does. This is one reason why I try to interact as little as possible, in my mods, with vanilla NPCs, and when I do, only slightly, and with those that are not major actors in the game.

 

Other factors that come into play.... one is, what modders want to do. I make mods in part because the idea grabs me and wants to be made, and partly as a learning experience. Very few, if any, of the vanilla groups like the companions, inspire me to do anything. Of course, that's me. And of course, there is also, what modders are capable of doing. Course, everyone can learn, but still, some things may be out of reach.

 

Now, having said all that, if you have any specific ideas, toss them out there. Someone may bite!

Shoot, I forgot about that. Sucks that Skyrim is so moddable yet limited at the same time. I'll definitely think of more specific ideas that are more realistic. I really do want to dip my toes into the CK again to try and contribute to M/M mods since the whole point of this thread is to discuss them.

Talking about ideas and mods we want to do/play, I guess we need to wait and see what will happen when the mod tools for FO4 become available soon. Chances are soon there will be almost nothing new for Skyrim. 

Most of the mods for FO3 and FONV are quite hetero-normative or quite sexist - you need to be woman in order to be used and abused. I'm curious how things will develop with FO4.

 

Fallout interests me not at all. So I'll be continuing with Skyrim, for as long as Skyrim continue to inspire me to make stuff.

Same here. Fallout mods tend to be even more female centered than Skyrim in my eyes. I also generally prefer Elder Scrolls over Fallout in terms of mods and just in general. Skyrim will certainly keep my interest until VI so until then, I'm almost exclusively sticking to Skyrim and I hope to bring at least something decent to the table eventually.

I can agree with some of the Fallout versus Skyrim sentiments posted here.

Maybe the warped fifties world of tomorrow encourages more hetero-normativity, but yeah, in terms of male content the Fallouts since 3 have been way more disappointing to me than the Elder Scrolls games.

 

There's also the fact that Fallout (with the exception of the second installment) simply does not hold my interest in a way that the Elder Scrolls does.

Like I said, I liked the second installment and though the first one and New Vegas were decent but in general I like fantasy and some types of sci-fi (mostly space opera) much more than post-apocalyptic sci-fi.

I've already got plans for FO4. Got a googledrive doc dedicated to it. Got one for Skyrim but as I said I'm still studying. Fallout 4 and Skyrim attract different parts of the geek in me. I will probably spend more time in modding FO4 if there seems to be enough people still doing Skyrim. Don't want to crowd the table.

Fallout 4 is cool, but I got bored with it way to quick compared to Skyrim Lol, so yeah it's good to see that modding for Skyrim is not dead.. Yet.. (it may change when CK/GECK will be released for FO4 and then some sex mods )

I really do want to contribute but most of the mods I want personally a far beyond my novice level of modding skill so if anyone wants something more basic but doesn't have the time or desire to make it, I'd be willing to give it a shot.

With all the diffrences between 3d modding and the other IT fields, there are still 2 types of modders - designers and scripters(developers) :-)

NPC's and Followers are what I have the most experience in and considering how I'm always looking for new, rugged men in the female flooded Nexus, I definitely think I could do something with that. I have wanted to design a building mod that houses a club, sex/bath house like Bathing Beefcake and the clubs and gay city patches that ffabris does but I'll probably start small with a follower.

Go for it! That seems like a larger quest than what I had in mind. For one thing, I don't do fighting-type quests, at all. I figure there are more than enough of those. Naturally, that's me, and my approach.

This sounds excellent. I never really had much use for the gods and churches in Skyrim but then again, there aren't really any male divine mods.

I did the same, actually. Though it isn't the easiest thing to learn from. I learned a lot from the vanilla game too... though some things still leave me puzzled. Like I can't figure out the effects in the Potema quests.

I have found an old file here - sosanus which is a texture. 

It looks quite OK on a shaved body, but is quite weird when on a hairy one.

And to make it more general - is there anything for an SOS body that uses HDT except for FloppySOS?

 

If you want a nice HTD male body try to use SAM at ladymoiraine . com,  and in that website go to Home > Forums> Games Bethesda Games > SAM - Shape Atlas for Men >  SAM Downloads > HDT Butt Breast Belly Bounce for SAM v1.1 it is fully compatible with floppy SOS.

 

 

I never managed to make this work. Or at least I never saw a difference ingame after I installed it.

 

Honestly speaking I don't think currently SAM can be very popular among gay players because of it's limited armor and clothes support. And also because of the different ways of understanding what the word "revealing" means :-)

I'm a noob when it comes to 3d modeling but I'm willing to follow tutorials and learn. But I've seen only one tutorial about dealing with armor for SAM - the adding of the SAMRevealing nitrishape in order to make the scholng show up.  And while it works with the several armor sets provided, I could not make it work correctly with other (holes in the body). I guess if they are not going to make conversions they can at least publish a tutorial about it.

Using SOS I managed to make all male NPC's in the game to wear a revealing outfit, not "only" the outfits provided by the revealing SOS sets, but all the others. And I managed to make them more revealing also on the back side. According to my understanding of the lore (that I think will be typical among gay players :-) )  in a world of sex and violence the men fashion and way of dressing will be one that showcases the "assets" of the man - muscles, schlong and ass. 

If I know how to do this for SAM I would probably spend tens of hours "designing" outfits :-)

Maybe the Bodyslide/Otfitstudio can be used for this. But I'm not sure about if and how, because every thread about it that I open has boobs, lots of boobs, so I decided that it is not of use for me. But maybe it is?

If anyone knows a tutorial about how to refit and "revealify" outfits for SAM, please share it.

This tutorial is about changing outfits that are already made to fit the SAM body. When you use it on outfits that are not, you get a result like this: http://www.loverslab.com/topic/48282-the-isle-of-mara/?p=1393323

 

On the LM site there are some refitted outfits that you can use this tutorial on and it will work very well. 

But if you want to use an outfit that is not fitted for SAM you first need to follow the tutorial that Ixum posted here a bit earlier and refit them.

Now all I have to do is to weight it properly, I freaking hate weighting skirts. Dunno if you find it fancy or sexy. I haven't planned to do this but I did it because It will look quite well for my female counterpart. So I have thought , why the hell not.
