severe LAG AND fps DROP

Hi , I have the problem that in Skyrim  after some time of playing the FPS drops dramatically . When I begin playing I have about 40 FPS without any lag and suddenly for no explanation the FPS drops down to 5-6 FPS. I have no idea why this happens . I have tried tweaking graphics settings to the lowest possible but it seems to make no difference . I have also tried tweaking the .ini files in order to reduce shadow rendering etc but nothing works either .It follows the  same trend(begins fine and slows down ). My video card has the latest drivers etc. I also used the mod manager to sort out the load order.   Does anyone know how to tackle this ? Could this be due to scripts

A sudden FPS drop is usually caused by scripts that use alot of CPU cycles, unless it's an overheated GPU.

The game might recover after some time (script timeout or the script finally being done), but you still better check your used mods and apply a savegame cleaner.

 

if your game runs fine for hours w/o many/any scripted mods, then you know it's time for trial and error or reducing the amount of scripted mods.

A hint on the lag might be locations or actions your dragonborn is doing at the time of the lag.

 

Sometimes as mentioned before there might be scripts running with mods. Check the mods and see if there is any that effect the areas or locations where you are having lag. If so try without those mods active.

 

If it is completely random it might be an activity that your dragonborn is doing at the time. Some scripts might be running. Like entering a town. Scripts start running on the NPCs and slow down the system. For fun I turned up a mods area to a very big one and almost crashed my game in seconds. The game engine was working overtime to que all those NPC in Whiterun for scripted activities. Return to a normal level and the game behaved again. .

 

You might just have to go through trial and error to find the problem maker. If you are using Mod Manager. Create a new profile for testing and add and remove those mods and test through new profiles and keep your old profile nice and safe for when you do figure out what is the problem. Hopefully at that time you can just clean the save and / or remove the mod and continue. If you are using NMM etc you might want to back up the game and manager then test. It is a pain but it will allow you to return to what you had when you find the fix.

Are you also trying to run ENB on it? Because what I know is that mobile graphics run on only half the power of its desktop equivalent (for the sake of power conservation).

 

In addition, factory supplied drivers (from their website) may be outdated, especially for the GPU (hence you have to hack it and go to http://laptopvideo2go.com/).

 

Finally, if you could bite the bullet with a set of precision screwdrivers, some jars and a rubber mat, plus disassembly instructions for your laptop model, you may try to clean the air intake and fan and even replace the thermal compound.

 

BTW, having too many (1) scripted mods (2) high resolution textures (3) high-poly meshes (4) too many NPCs will also slow down your game.

From your load list i can see what could be a possibility of busted load order. Try using LOOT to sort that load order. you use Highress textures bethesfa official highress is not well optimized so that could majorly cause lag to occur also check skyrim.ini settings. Some edits could break your game.

 

Also how is your current game running ?? if you use Ultra high-res setting try to lower that to high. Ultra will not work right on even the best machines around.
