Should be an improvement and solve several problems with dialog failing. Note that all NPCs in a current save will need to run through processing at least once before they initiate dialog (hotkey or otherwise), or they will be broken. Any mod registering dialog topics instead of packages will either be broken, or incorrectly inherit the default topics (temporarily). Alternatively you can start the mod fresh. The solution for mods is to register dialog package refs instead of topic refs (nx_setevfo "SOI:TpcReg:Whatever" dialogpackageref). Point the dialog package you create to your topic ref. I may drop back to the startconversation method if this doesn't work out, so no pressure.

You might try the new one but there aren't many changes in it. Unless I already fixed the problem and then forgot what I did, which isn't out of the realm of possibilities. Registry debug was changed because of the recent changes. Posted a new one with more debug.

I only get complains that the hot key is busy if I use it too often I don't see anything in that one. In the previous one, did Gorobets talk to the PC? That's when the PC got keyed, and subsequently why Betsy couldn't follow through the approach. Added more debug and tweaked. EDIT: And yes, spamming the hotkey = asking for errors. Though if you don't see hotkey in the debug, it didn't register your key press. This happens to me sometimes when lagging/saving. The new one should no longer clear follow if it fails. I'll keep an eye out for it. EDIT: Reduced the lag a bit in the latest copy by reverting to the old script-less delay spell method. Edited April 26, 2016 by t3589

Here Lt Gorobets was affected. I think I know what's happening. Will try and fix it sometime this evening. EDIT: The new one should fix it, but it no longer forces the follow package. In short, I expect NPCs to incorrectly lose their follow package somewhere along the way. When I figure out what those instances are, I'll try and fix them as well. Edited April 28, 2016 by t3589

It must have been referencing something that was added in the past year or so. Works now! Btw, I assign a key for NPC dialogue, but nothing seems to happen. I've turned on the mod through the SOI Controls in the apparel. Doesn't seem to matter what key I bind it to - are there any specifics behind the key use?

The pop up did take a second or two to kick in last time I tested it. I forgot about it after turning on the mod and it popped up while I was running. Still worked though. I like to set mine to c, nothing special.

It must have been referencing something that was added in the past year or so. Works now! Btw, I assign a key for NPC dialogue, but nothing seems to happen. I've turned on the mod through the SOI Controls in the apparel. Doesn't seem to matter what key I bind it to - are there any specifics behind the key use? Shouldn't be. The pop up did take a second or two to kick in last time I tested it. I forgot about it after turning on the mod and it popped up while I was running. Still worked though. I like to set mine to c, nothing special. Yeah, no worries, I just didn't read the OP properly - was missing pressing shift. I take it NPCs no longer approach the player by default, but that you have to add them individually, is that right?
t3589 Posted April 28, 2016 Author Posted April 28, 2016 (edited) Just tested a fresh start. - Started mod. - Went to terminal, set debug, set cycle speed, set stalkers, etc. - Enabled Auto Adds in the add manager, enabled Goodsprings. - Left the terminal. Few seconds later the hotkey asked to be set. - Followed the instructions, hit OK, hit 'c' key. - Mod reported key bound to 46. - Went up to Goodsprings settler, waited for them to enter the system. - Hotkeyed successfully. EDIT: You can add them manually, or in groups. Enable auto adds under the add manager option in the conterm. Then you can enable them faction by faction. Though a few factions may still need to be added. I usually set mine to groups, then selectively enable factions. Then I'll add the disabled faction NPCs manually on an individual basis. There are numerous ways to do it really. EDITx2: I rarely use the NPC manager (shift + hotkey) for anything other than renaming. Edited April 28, 2016 by t3589
