All I get is dismiss npc, rename and do nothing. What happened to the romance and chat options?

 

I'm not sure what you mean.  Those are all settings options that you get when you hotkey + shift (NPC Manager).  Are you starting fresh or updating?  If you're updating, you need to wait for any NPCs that were added in the last copies to process at least once before hotkeying them.  Otherwise things will break.  Also turn on debug and take a peek at the console for any obvious problems.

I swear there use to be a chat, flirt and romance option, things changed after I updated to a newer version.

The new files are downloaded without problems, I installed them with Fomm no problems, thank you.

ah the SOI Music files (9 files) are already present in the SOI Data and I have not overwritten, I have done well?

 

 

The music files in the data pack are placeholders only.  The files in the music pack is the same song copied over and over for those too lazy to customize their own music.  What you should really be doing is dropping your own custom music in the music pack and installing those.

 

Just extract the music pack to your desktop or somewhere.  Drop your own custom music into it, overwriting the files that are there.  Then zip it back up and install with FOMM.

Solo sex with a supermutant do not work, no animation starting.

 

I don't think there are any SM solo anims.  What choices show up for them?  I probably overlooked it, but dance should be the only one showing for SMs on solo.

 

EDIT: Checked it.  Initiating solo with an SM should not offer any choices, but should go straight to dance.  Dance being where the SM observes, and the player dances.  If this is what happened then it is correct.  SMs don't dance (no SM dance anims).

An other problem, I had a date with Betsy at Hotel, she appeared, asked date now? I agreed, but then she went home and I could not stop her. Debug showed something like this

 

A further problem, of several NPCs want something from you, they seem to block each other ( they are coming close to you, flashing violet, but nothing happens ) I can break the lock by talking to them regularly ( via "e" key ) but I don't think that is the way it is intended to work.

How did she get there?  Ex: Did you meet her outside the hotel?  Did she knock on the door?

 

EDIT: Violet only means they have an action, not necessarily that they're supposed to do anything at that moment.  Visual feedback only tells you 3 things.  Which NPC is processing, whether or not they're compatible, and whether or not they have an action.  It doesn't indicate which NPC is supposed to run actions.

Try the new one.  Should be fixed now.  Don't know what else I broke in the process, but it tests fine for me with Betsy at the wrangler hotel room.  Still a little wonky though.  I'll probably re-write all that at some point.  Try not to stand too close to doors.  Never had her leave, but there were a couple of times where I think she might have split if she was close enough to the door.

I just had this blocking again, I send you the debug. It seems as if Papa Khan is trapped in an endless "tracker busy" loop

Just had the problem again. It works that way, as long as you don't have an other activity. But when you have an activity ( like hangout ) and then the solo dance should start, the animation did not work. Debug says something about a conflict ( unfortunately debug wasn't recorded, I try to reproduce that ). Maybe because solo dance count as an other activity ?

 

However, does solo makes sense for SM then at all? The solo dance makes SM horny again and he want an other solo dance and so on ... this can go that way for quite a long time.

Huh. I was thinking that it was SOI causing a crash that I've been getting, but this seems to confirm that you've been testing things in the Atomic Wrangler just fine.

 

Are you still running NVSE 5.0 beta 2?  Ever since I upgraded NVSE, SexoutNG, SCR, and SOI (I'd been building my mod against an October version to avoid "moving target" updates) I'm getting crashes in the AW, and I've since ruled out most other plugins (including disabling populated casinos entirely).  It took me hours to track down some other crashes to NV Stutter Remover on containers and cell loads using beta 3, and I was hoping that eliminating that crash meant that I'd nailed the AW crash too, but just had yet another crash in the AW shortly after going in, and the only remaining mods affecting that cell are SOI and TTW Interiors. Completely unable to enter the AW at this time as it always crashes within a few minutes. (One time I was "lucky" and my frames only dropped to a 1 or 2 fps slideshow rather than crashing outright, which suggests an infinite loop or plugin error of some kind.)

 

More testing needed...

 

 

 

 

[edit] It's definitely "caused" by SOI, in that it crashes only once SOI is unpaused, but I still have absolutely no explanation for how/why it happens.

[edit2] Nope, not caused by SOI after all. SOI deselected resulted in a crash eventually, although SOI seems to accelerate its progress. I'm starting to lean towards NX being the culprit, but it's still happening even after a downgrade back to NVSE 5.0b2, so the likely culprit is SexoutNG, but I don't honestly see how it could be getting involved at all. I'm honestly baffled at what could now suddenly be so unstable that I've added since October.

 

At least I've already ruled out my own unreleased plugins, so that's always something. But since there's a cloud for every silver lining, my character is going bye-bye if I have to revert SexoutNG. =P

 

Also ruled out mod order, since I'm running under 130 plugins at the moment and the crash only takes place in the AW anyway.

 

[edit3] Cause undeniably confirmed as SCR. I no longer have the version from prior to September 20th, but only just recently updated it. When SCR and SCR-dependent mods are gone from my mod order, AW works perfectly. When SCR-dependent mods are gone but SCR is not, I still receive the crash eventually.

 

I'm no closer to finding the specific cause from SCR, but at least it's down to being caused by a missing mesh, animation, or texture (if other people are having no problems, it's not the scripts), for which SCR is absolutely fucking terrible. I'm not mincing words: I've hated it from the moment I had to use it and I hate it even more for the six hours of my life it just cost me. >=/

 

[edit4] I'm fairly certain that it has something to do with formlists, likely a runaway causing a list to hit/exceed the 65535 formlist entry limit. But I've been up all night and it's time for bed. =P

 

[edit5] Still no closer to a solution, since the formlist pet theory turned out to be wrong -- every formlist I've evaluated is within sensible limits (ListAddForm generally respects those anyway). Since the crash is caused by a buffer overflow (BEX error) that leaves only an out-of-memory error caused by the loading of assets. Given the randomness of the crash my prime suspect is ambient audio, but nothing (not even TTW Interiors) seems to be overwriting audio templates or placing audio markers in the Atomic Wrangler... not to mention the RAM usage stays sensible (the crash can occur at as low as 500 MB usage).

 

[edit6] Nailed down a cause, but no solution. Not SCR, or at least, not explicitly SCR's fault (probably only exacerbated by the number of missing assets). Tsundere ante gives begrudging apology, SCR-kun. (Not that I like you or anything! Waaan~~) Whenever the music playing over the speakers in the Atomic Wrangler ends, so does the game. [edit7] Closing in... it plays the Gomorrah radio station over the speakers... [edit8] Gah, red herring yet again. Crashed halfway through a song this time, and Gomorrah itself works fine.

 

[edit9] Most plausible explanation is now TTW support. If one of the formIDs changed in TTW since v2.4 (which I have not upgraded from as I prefer speech challenges over flat speech checks), SCR is targetting a newer build and crashing on ListAddForm with no type-checking in SexoutSCR00SAddFallout3Stuff. I know most people on this thread don't have or use Fallout 3 and TTW, especially not version 2.4, so that's by far the most plausible explanation. Now to verify! The only shortcoming in my logic is how the hell it's related to the Atomic Wrangler of all things.

 

[edit10] No dice, after the drastic solution of commenting out all of SCR's scripts -- only possible cause now is the problem I feared all along (some sort of memory glitch caused by a missing asset). I'll try installing at least the Pregnancy base assets and see how that goes. Sigh... this has become my Moby Dick. I don't normally lust after dick quite that much, either.

 

 

 

 

[edit11] NX update to 17 and starting to install SCR assets did nothing either. Le sigh. This problem is probably deeper and more fundamental than SCR itself... leaning towards pure engine bug at this point. I had quit Fallout for three months due to dislike of Bethesda and this is certainly starting to rank up there on my list of good ideas again. =P

How does one add variables to a npc without it being over complicated? I married my follower so I want her to already have specific attributes. Is there a simple step by step tutorial that explains how to do this for someone with limited experience?

I just had this blocking again, I send you the debug. It seems as if Papa Khan is trapped in an endless "tracker busy" loop

 

 

EDIT: Checked it.  Initiating solo with an SM should not offer any choices, but should go straight to dance.  Dance being where the SM observes, and the player dances.  If this is what happened then it is correct.  SMs don't dance (no SM dance anims).

 

Just had the problem again. It works that way, as long as you don't have an other activity. But when you have an activity ( like hangout ) and then the solo dance should start, the animation did not work. Debug says something about a conflict ( unfortunately debug wasn't recorded, I try to reproduce that ). Maybe because solo dance count as an other activity ?

 

However, does solo makes sense for SM then at all? The solo dance makes SM horny again and he want an other solo dance and so on ... this can go that way for quite a long time.

I'll look into it and probably add more debug.  I'm going to start a fresh game too, just to make sure that all those unused variables that I've phased out aren't causing problems.

 

I had solo disabled for SMs at one point.  However I like when the player makes their own decisions.  Imo I can either decide for you that SMs won't do solos, or you can decide by saying no. lol

Try the new one.  Should be fixed now.  Don't know what else I broke in the process, but it tests fine for me with Betsy at the wrangler hotel room.  Still a little wonky though.  I'll probably re-write all that at some point.  Try not to stand too close to doors.  Never had her leave, but there were a couple of times where I think she might have split if she was close enough to the door.

 

Huh. I was thinking that it was SOI causing a crash that I've been getting, but this seems to confirm that you've been testing things in the Atomic Wrangler just fine.

 

Are you still running NVSE 5.0 beta 2?  Ever since I upgraded NVSE, SexoutNG, SCR, and SOI (I'd been building my mod against an October version to avoid "moving target" updates) I'm getting crashes in the AW, and I've since ruled out most other plugins (including disabling populated casinos entirely).  It took me hours to track down some other crashes to NV Stutter Remover on containers and cell loads using beta 3, and I was hoping that eliminating that crash meant that I'd nailed the AW crash too, but just had yet another crash in the AW shortly after going in, and the only remaining mods affecting that cell are SOI and TTW Interiors. Completely unable to enter the AW at this time as it always crashes within a few minutes. (One time I was "lucky" and my frames only dropped to a 1 or 2 fps slideshow rather than crashing outright, which suggests an infinite loop or plugin error of some kind.)

 

More testing needed...

 

[edit] It's definitely "caused" by SOI, in that it crashes only once SOI is unpaused, but I still have absolutely no explanation for how/why it happens.

[edit2] Nope, not caused by SOI after all. SOI deselected resulted in a crash eventually, although SOI seems to accelerate its progress. I'm starting to lean towards NX being the culprit, but it's still happening even after a downgrade back to NVSE 5.0b2, so the likely culprit is SexoutNG, but I don't honestly see how it could be getting involved at all. I'm honestly baffled at what could now suddenly be so unstable that I've added since October.

 

At least I've already ruled out my own unreleased plugins, so that's always something. But since there's a cloud for every silver lining, my character is going bye-bye if I have to revert SexoutNG. =P

 

Also ruled out mod order, since I'm running under 130 plugins at the moment and the crash only takes place in the AW anyway.

 

[edit3] Cause undeniably confirmed as SCR. I no longer have the version from prior to September 20th, but only just recently updated it. When SCR and SCR-dependent mods are gone from my mod order, AW works perfectly. When SCR-dependent mods are gone but SCR is not, I still receive the crash eventually.

 

I'm no closer to finding the specific cause from SCR, but at least it's down to being caused by a missing mesh, animation, or texture (if other people are having no problems, it's not the scripts), for which SCR is absolutely fucking terrible. I'm not mincing words: I've hated it from the moment I had to use it and I hate it even more for the six hours of my life it just cost me. >=/

 

[edit4] I'm fairly certain that it has something to do with formlists, likely a runaway causing a list to hit/exceed the 65535 formlist entry limit. But I've been up all night and it's time for bed. =P

 

 

The new copies of SOI are definitely more process intensive (for my old rig anyway).  I haven't had a crash though.  Recently I've made some drastic changes that, while it doesn't require you to start the mod fresh, not doing so leaves certain holes open for breakage.  The only list that builds up over time in SOI is the contact list.  I'll add some debug to it for the next copy.

 

I'll keep an eye out and do some digging.  I think I'm using the latest NVSE, but am on another box now and can't check.  Unless they just released a new one.  Will get back to you if I find anything interesting.

How does one add variables to a npc without it being over complicated? I married my follower so I want her to already have specific attributes. Is there a simple step by step tutorial that explains how to do this for someone with limited experience?

 

You can set them in the console using the variables from the second post.  If you set them before you add them, they should retain their settings.  However I wouldn't put too much time into it, unless you don't mind editing your profiles every time I change something.

 

When the variables are all finalized, I'll begin posting tutorial examples to the second post as well as define what all the settings do.  Until then, every setting listed there is subject to change.

I think I broke Easy Pete.  I restarted the mod a while ago for your last update.  Just got to GoodSprings and saw Pete walking out into the Desert.  Checked the console and the line Easy Pete  :SOIReturnScript:MoveTo: 00000000 is repeating over and over again constantly.  At this point a dim lightbulb went off in my brain, I restarted the mod but forgot to set landmarks for home again.  Maybe he is trying to visit me at my home?  So far setting my home hasn't fixed him.  Will it recover eventually or should I write Pete off as a casualty of war?  He only wants to do solo sex anyway so it isn't a real big loss for my Courier.

I can't find the right token yet, but I did see a line that concerns me:

 

622 - Legacy : Sexout Anim Number (0701932d).  I don't know what animation that is, but 622 copies of a legacy token just screams "there is something going wrong here" to me.  Is that normal?  I haven't seen that before but I rarely look at inv in the console.  I have so many keys and quest items in my inventory that even with all physical items removed from my character I'm not sure I'm seeing a complete list of items when I type inv.

@MRM18870: Try the new one.  I tested it in crowds, but I guess my PC doesn't draw enough attention for hoards of approaches all at once.  Got a few multiples here and there and it worked fine.  If the SM stuff is still present I'll patch it up after I confirm the other stuff is working.  Let me know.

 

@antediluvian: It's posted in the extender thread a few posts above the end last I checked.  I'm not sure it will make any difference though?

Yeah, it didn't. I was hoping it would, since the error at this point pretty much has to be engine/driver/plugin/file related. The bug is most infuriating because there are absolutely no logs that survive the crash -- NVAC doesn't catch a thing. About my only alternatives at this stage are to start digging through all objects in the AW and see if any mod has installed a loose file that causes a reliable memory leak, to limit my exposure in the AW and pray for the best anytime I have to go in to talk to the Garrets with a new character, or to do a scratch uninstall and reinstall and hope I can remember every file I've hand-edited separately of FOMM. =P

 

I've been keeping my post above edited with my "progress" to avoid cluttering the thread further, although it started getting to be a stream of consciousness (or lack thereof) eventually. Each edit was done after at least one, two, or three unsuccessful crashes and ten to thirty minutes of effort, so... yeah, it's been adding up. =P

I've added debug that prints out list counts every time something is added to some of them them.  Still need to do the same for the clothing list which could be filling up.

 

EDIT:  If you're coming back to this mod from a save with this mod 3 months ago, I'd definitely expect this mod to give you problems.  It may not be the cause of the crashing, but it sure won't help you find out what is with such a huge range of changes.  Not to mention removed/changed settings that are still hanging about in your cosave.

Unfortunately NPCs can still be blocked

 

You can see at the end of the debug file, that the activity with the atomic wrangler wache should have ended for quite some while, but somehow this did not happen.

 

Other thing I observed with this version is some kind of "approach stockpiling"

 

A NPC approaches me, but instead of saying something an other approach was added - but before the second NPC arrive, a third NPC approaches and so on. So sometimes I have a whole group of NPCs around me before anyone says something.
