Killing Joke Posted August 3, 2015 Posted August 3, 2015 Not only I love this beautiful song, but the discrepancy between the music and what he sings about makes it even more enjoyable to listen to.
Buddy Christ Posted August 5, 2015 Posted August 5, 2015 *snippety-snip* It is interesting to see the different messages in their songs about kind of the same topic. M.I.A. is all about how war and fighting breaks people and the toll it takes on them. It is almost philosophical about how and even if someone can return to "normal life" after having had to fight for his life and taking other's lives. The thing about the person in the song being haunted by it years later (at least that is what I get from the line "Forgive me for my crimes, don't forget that I was so young") really gets to me for several reasons. And then there is: While it has the same general message, to me it comes across as sung with a jutted chin (if this makes sense at all, not sure how to express myself in English ^^). The subject of fear and inner conflict is still there, but at the same time it comes with a try for justification, which is totally missing from M.I.A. where it solely is about the feeling of guilt. Wow, who would have thought that you can get all philosophical about A7X
Lexi SubZero Posted August 5, 2015 Posted August 5, 2015 Heard the "Counting Stars" by One Republic few times today on a radio at work.. Cool song..but when I came home I wondered if I could find a "better" version....aaand I wasn't disappointed.

Buddy Christ Posted August 6, 2015 Posted August 6, 2015 "Things you stumble upon on the internet for 200, Alex" It actually is kind of soothing and relaxing
Guerilla Posted August 7, 2015 Posted August 7, 2015 https://soundcloud.com/wmstrecs/goodbye-moonmen-full-track a little genocidal track, but still cool.

Jexsam Posted August 8, 2015 Posted August 8, 2015 I was reading the ditz-speak thread for lulz when this popped into my head. I am now listening to it.
Buddy Christ Posted August 9, 2015 Posted August 9, 2015 Probably not easy for people who do not understand german, it is about "Men with Beards" Rough (very rough!) translation: 2x All who go with us privateering have to be men with beards. Jan and Hein and Klaas and Pit they have beards, they have beards Jan and Hein and Klaas and Pit they have beards, they come with us! 2x All who love women and brandy have to be men wih beards Jan and Hein and Klaas and Pit they have beards, they have beards Jan and Hein and Klaas and Pit they have beards, they come with us! 2x All who kill the walrus wih us have to be men wih beards Jan and Hein.... Jan and Hein.... 2x All who do not fear death nor devil have to be men with beards Jan and Hein.... Jan and Hein... 2x All who finally go to hell with us have to be men with beards Jan and Hein.... Jan and Hein.... Yepp, Streuner do a lot of medieval music and I like them. If you don't... I do not care, because I have a beard!
Jexsam Posted August 9, 2015 Posted August 9, 2015 I'm not the type to get hyped over upcoming music. Last time was Dethalbum 3. But here I am, hyping again. Ghost, motherfuckers.
