Fotogen Posted August 3, 2014 Posted August 3, 2014 Does like data\SKSE\skse.ini (settings for SKSE) looks something like this: [General]ClearInvalidRegistrations=1[Display]iTintTextureResolution=2048[Memory]DefaultHeapInitialAllocMB=768ScrapHeapSizeMB=256 It helped me alot. I assume you have SKSE version 1.7 or higher.
Mazhen Posted August 3, 2014 Author Posted August 3, 2014 Yea, thats the first thing i added when i installed skse, also i'm not running with either bashed patch or merged patch, should i with my load order?
Uriel Posted August 3, 2014 Posted August 3, 2014 How long is it? Long, looong or is it looooooooooong?
Slorm Posted August 3, 2014 Posted August 3, 2014 Check your save game file sizes in case they are bloated, that will cause long load times. If they are you can try using a script cleaner but DO keep a backup before using it
Mazhen Posted August 3, 2014 Author Posted August 3, 2014 well, the thing is that, thet long load times happens with newly created saves aswell..
myuhinny Posted August 3, 2014 Posted August 3, 2014 Have you got the loading fix for skyrim? It is suppose to help with long loadings/load freezes and stuff. http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/46465/? Safety load.
Mazhen Posted August 3, 2014 Author Posted August 3, 2014 Nope, i heard some bad things about it so i avoided it...
RitualClarity Posted August 3, 2014 Posted August 3, 2014 I have used safety load and it seems to work fine so far with my game.
Mazhen Posted August 3, 2014 Author Posted August 3, 2014 according to the comments on nexus, people are saying it doesnt work and others that its obsolete, and is it still useful if your using skse 1.7 and enboost?..
myuhinny Posted August 3, 2014 Posted August 3, 2014 Well if you read the posts then you should of seen this then. It's the first post in the comments section. *yes, don't use this mod. use this one. http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/50305/?tab=2&navtag=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.nexusmods.com%2Fskyrim%2Fajax%2Fmodfiles%2F%3Fid%3D50305&pUp=1 its the new thing. make sure you have the newest skse*
judge0 Posted August 3, 2014 Posted August 3, 2014 SKSE developers have stated Safety Load is not required with 1.70+ of SKSE . . .
cornbreadtm Posted August 3, 2014 Posted August 3, 2014 Get a better computer. Yeah that sucks but it's the best way to decrease your load times. My computer isn't super old or anything but when I saw someone else playing skyrim and they were zoning in seconds on their tricked out gaming computer... I gave in to the facts. No matter what tweaks or mods you install or uninstall for that matter, will decease load times if they have been long from the get go. You need better hardware.
hentaijin Posted August 3, 2014 Posted August 3, 2014 The higher resolution of your textures will increase load times. This is one major thing you can change if you're using 2k resolution textures or something. Also if you're using a regular harddrive make sure it's set to be scheduled to defragment regularly with windows or with whatever software you like. If your harddive hasn't been defraged in a long time then that might contribute to longer loading times. What cornbreadtm said is very true, but adding to that the most significant upgrade to load faster would be upgrading from a hard drive to a SSD. SSDs are becoming very affordable and are 4+ times faster than the fastest hard drives.

Thanks I was using it from before. Still didn't do anything much to my game. Now I will copy my profile and remove that and insall the one that myuhinny states and test that one. Hopefully there isnt' any issues with uninstalling that mod as I have some time devoted to a character that for the first time I like and would like to continue with. Normally this hasn't been the case. However a question: This implements Sheson's memory allocation patch. If you're using one of the unofficial modified SKSE DLL files, you need to revert back to the official SKSE files otherwise SSME won't do anything. If you're using the new build of SKSE that has support for changing the memory allocation values, you don't need SSME. The new version of SKSE does support this memory correct so even this isn't needed anymore. Correct?
hentaijin Posted August 3, 2014 Posted August 3, 2014 The new version of SKSE does support this memory correct so even this isn't needed anymore. Correct? YES Just make sure your data\SKSE\skse.ini file has this to activate the memory patch. [Memory] DefaultHeapInitialAllocMB=768 ScrapHeapSizeMB=256 The following 2 you should use as well, same file. The first clears invalid registrations automatically from your save gave over time. The 2nd fixes the tint texture resolution so it can be up to 2k. I think the skyrim default is 512 or something. [General] ClearInvalidRegistrations=1 [Display] iTintTextureResolution=2048
judge0 Posted August 3, 2014 Posted August 3, 2014 hentaijin said it all . . . make sure to remove the firstborn son lines (or any other lines from previous memory patches)
RitualClarity Posted August 3, 2014 Posted August 3, 2014 Cool, I assume if it isn't part of the ini ( using MO) I just add it to the bottom of the [title]. Now for testing.. @ OP. AS stated above SSD is the single basic improvement that made the greatest impact on my game ( skyrim and others) barring graphic upgrades. I seriously think I would stop playing games if I had to go back to mechanical drives. They are cheaper now. If you have a desktop you can probably install it seperate from your main drive and just load Steam, Skyrim and mods and be good to go even if it is a smaller one.

No matter what tweaks or mods you install or uninstall for that matter, will decease load times if they have been long from the get go. You need better hardware. My computer is very powerful, i dont need to upgrade, the only thing i will agree to is that i need to get a SSD, the only reason i havent got one yet is that im too lazy, i really dont wanna have to reinstall my windows, but i guess until i stop being lazy and get an SSD i will have to live with the load times.. Ooh and just a note the phrase "Get a better computer" isnt the solution to every issue in skyrim, as a matter of fact im having problems just keeping my FPS down at 60, it keeps going over..
RitualClarity Posted August 3, 2014 Posted August 3, 2014 Giving some feedback on a quick test on the suggestions mentioned above from multiple members. Much improvement even for my game. Now it is only a second to about 3 or so for it to load on a game where my character is level 20+and days of play. Nice. Removed all the safetyload and other junk. Made sure my SKSE was fully updated to the most current version and edited the Skyrim.ini as told above. It is now very snappy and responsive ( loading wise.) might even be better visual and general responsive ness. I have almost every possible environmental texture mod available many 2k files as well so this is what usually slows things down. Basically only a slight lag for loading over a clean unmodifiied Skyrim install for my machine. Recap ( at least from my experience) SSD for gaming SKSE, newest version with memory patches and such included Skyrim.Ini edits [General]ClearInvalidRegistrations=1[Display]iTintTextureResolution=2048[Memory]DefaultHeapInitialAllocMB=768ScrapHeapSizeMB=256 Finally removed the SafetyLoad and any other edits and memory patches.

Don't reinstall windows. You can install the SSD seperatly and just use that for games. If everything else is working perfectly and not giving you problems just do that. My games are on a dedicated SSD and I love it. No problems when windows crap out either..
Mazhen Posted August 3, 2014 Author Posted August 3, 2014 Btw i forgot to ask, i'm not using a bashed patch or merged patch, should it with my load order?
RitualClarity Posted August 4, 2014 Posted August 4, 2014 Btw i forgot to ask, i'm not using a bashed patch or merged patch, should it with my load order? Not sure what you are asking but if you are asking if a bashed or merged patch should be used.. it is up to you. So long as it is only Armors, Weapons an such without scripts just items added to the game you should be OK. Avoid merging or bashing anything with scripts.

It's NOT the skyrim.ini file It's skse.ini located in {whateveryourinstallpathis}\Data\SKSE\skse.ini Otherwise it won't do a thing
yatol Posted August 4, 2014 Posted August 4, 2014 if your textures are big it will always be slow i unpack skyrim and dlc bsa, copy paste most textures mod on that and repack the bsa now the game need 12-14 seconds to get to the main menu, it don't take much to mo to create its virtual folder most saves load in 15-20 seconds, 30-50 if i am in a city because of that my config can't handle cities enchanced with these textures^^
