This is very concerning. I've been hearing here and there bug reports of SexoutSex failing to load anims, but they have started to become far too frequent to be pure chance, especially in regards to Amra's modders resources anims not working. I'm going to see if I can figure anything out this weekend.

What's killing me is that SexKey has not once failed, no matter what idle the NPC is engaged in when sex is started.  It is also the least complicated of all the start sex mods I've tested.  I'm not sure it does anything more than pick the actors, and it still uses the original sexout quest var interface.  The other mods all set sex types or anims.

 

Here's something else.  One sided sex acts also never fail.  If the NPC engaged in the idle (sitting/leaning) and they are told to masturbate with no actorB, it always works.

NG has a ton of old versions included with CORE, you don't have to go hunt them down.

 

They get installed to data/SexoutNGBackups directory. Versions back to 64 are in there, with a few gaps.

 

I'm dropping 'everything' to look into this issue today so there may be an 85 today or tomorrow.

lol I found that after I went to git and grabbed it from there like an idiot.

Ok, 'bad' news. I just deactivated my other sexout mods and launched with my normal mods + just NG (my working copy, 85a3), SCR (20131001), smallertalk, and sexoutsex. Sexoutsex worked perfectly for male or female, walking around, standing, or sitting, for 3 or 4 sex acts in a row. Everything in the log looked normal as well.

 

(you can capture that with 'scof' btw, no need for screenshots).

 

I'm attaching my dev copy of r85 so you can test it out and see if I inadvertently fixed the issue. If that doesn't do it, PM me your savegame, maybe there's something 'wrong' in there.

Copy that.  Trying it out now.

 

Just to note it doesn't always happen with every sitting idle, only some.  Sorry about the screens, I thought SCOF didn't capture debugprint?

Bangatron worked fine too, did 4-5 acts with various characters outside the saloon, no issues. I am using populated wasteland, so there are lots of NPCs milling around playing various idles and packages.

 

As nyaa said, scof captures everything printed to the console, debug or not.

SexoutSex fails when Doc Mitchells is seated on his couch, DRL works.  SexoutSex works when Doc Mitchell is seated at kitchen table, DRL doesn't.  Both work when Doc Mitchell is seated in the interview chair.  I could go on and on...

Found something interesting just now.  You see how the debug just ends?  Well I found out that if you toss a resetai at the 'sitting doing nothing' NPC, it picks up right where it got stuck, he gets up, the sex scene begins as intended.  Even a minute later.  It's as if the process didn't die at all, but is just sitting there on hold waiting for something.  Now I'm thinking AI packages not anims.  Lunacy.

 

EDIT: Confirmed.  ResetAI makes them continue every time.  Then they either A. Complete the intended sex scene, or B. Stand inside one another as depicted in the OP.

This indicates that there's some kind of package conflict or something...

 

I should have asked at the outset, but have you tested this without *any* other mods loaded? It sounds like one of them is adding a package or something, and doing it's damnedest to keep it on.

I'm still experiencing the problem with r85 through SexoutSex, though it also worked once. How do you use the scof function? I've enabled the debugging mode in SexoutNG and typing it in the console gave me nothing. I'm going to keep testing on that same save and then upload it here with more results.

For notation.  I have completely reinstalled the game, once.  I have completely re-installed all my mods, twice.  I have permanently uninstalled several mods.  During this process I tested this bare bones (SexoutNG and requirements only) for the mods listed above in my little, this one does this, this one does that post.  I have been through all versions of NG back to 82, and SCR/Preg back to the old versions posted.  All this on a (delete all saves) New Game.

 

And before you posted CK, I was ready (still am unfortunately) to do it all again.  But now at least I know I'm not imagining things. lol

Next time they get 'stuck', save the game, and PM me the savegame file and the corresponding nx (not nvse) save file -- these are located in data\nvse\plugins\extender\saves and are named the same as the save file, but ending in .csv.

 

Maybe I can load it up and peek at script vars or something.

The resetai thing is a big clue.. next time also try just evp and see if that does it, or if it needs the full resetai. If evp doesn't do it, it's not a package thing, it's something else.

 

Edit: really irritated (but also somewhat 'suspicious') that I can't duplicate this on my end. Everything is working fine for me. Sorry you guys have to be the guinea pigs here.

Thanks, but as it turns out, I misspoke! I feel like such a Hilary Clinton right now...

 

... as it is, r85 is working fine through SexoutSex. Sitting, lying, standing, doing the headstand, you name it, it works. What didn't work before was me trying to run Amra's modders anim through SexoutSex, which confirms that there is something indeed wrong with it in SexoutSex that I need to take a look at, as it was working with 82, but apparently no longer.

 

I'll get to the bottom of this.
