Satoshi1 Posted May 19, 2014 Posted May 19, 2014 Nooby Question, but I want to know how can I get better at making my characters look nicer. I have been trying enhanced character edit for a few months, but I still can't get it to look like those made by others on nexusmods. Even now, my character still looks like the default.
TheDriedFinger Posted May 19, 2014 Posted May 19, 2014 Have you checked out: http://www.loverslab.com/topic/8169-beautiful-women-and-how-to-make-them/ The members that frequent that thread are very helpful.

Epic Gamer Frey Posted May 19, 2014 Posted May 19, 2014 Skin textures and stuff... practice using sliders. ask a perverted Turian for some random slider numbers (not including extra sliders from racemenu or ECE).
Guest Vendayn Posted May 20, 2014 Posted May 20, 2014 Find SG hairs and enjoy lots of more hair I use these the most. He made really good hair. Not just in style, but textures and how they are made. Apaachi has some good hair too, but at least his older versions always looked a bit stiff compared to SG. I know its improved now, and there are good hair styles for that. Probably most important aspects of a character (outside of textures/meshes etc that everyone will mention) are... The eyes play a sort of big part, mouth as well...however, I find hair makes a HUGE difference in how the character looks. Change hair, new character okay not exactly...it kinda works in real life too, sorta. I always like eyes a bit lower, since it gives a younger appearance. This makes a bigger looking forehead though which I find not my preference, so I pick hair that covers it. I think eye/nose/mouth height are the hardest thing to mess with out of it all and take so long to get right and really change the character. Chin I tend to make shorter (but not too short, mostly for the younger appearance). And I don't pull chin all the way back (that chin forward option to -1 or whatever)...that makes it look so ugly in-game. I see a lot of presets with that (or some older ones did anyway). Makes a huge overbite or underbite or whatever it is. Best to leave it at the point where no overbite/underbite (whether its 0 or -2 or whatever, different mouths are different)...unless that is what you are going for and what you are into...not my style personally. Except the opposite of that, chin forward to max would be funny for a male or even a he-like female. Next is to play with that cheek/jaw...I always find that the 2nd longest part, even if it isn't really that noticeable. Cause certain angles make the face look weird if its messed with the wrong way. And outside of that...I think personally those are the big things. There is eyebrow/eye shape and what not, but they always end up being a nice addition, easy to choose from, after all the work lol.
Satoshi1 Posted May 20, 2014 Author Posted May 20, 2014 I was thinking of making something like this: http://static-1.nexusmods.com/15/mods/110/images/42273-1-1394987205.jpg There are a lot of ppl who made some beautiful characters, and most just say use enhanced character edit and some extra mods. That and I am using SG hair, the eye of beauty, and enhanced character edit.

That and I am using SG hair, the eye of beauty, and enhanced character edit. That looks like a different custom race, maybe Lovergirl? But it can be recreated from any race with ECE to be totally honest. I am using the same things you are.... ECE (and the ECEE enhancer), SG and Apachii hairs, Eyes of Beauty, Brows, Pretty Lips, and FSC Univision Textures. That's it. And you can make a Nord look like almost anything or anybody. These are all using the same mods and I've made them look even more different than these ones, too. You just need to play with the sliders a bit and maybe a nicer looking skin texture.
Satoshi1 Posted May 20, 2014 Author Posted May 20, 2014 Anyone know how to create characters that look like the one in the link I provided? I've seen other characters that look really nice, but its hard to believe its just ECE and some minor mods.
Kaz Aanh Posted May 20, 2014 Posted May 20, 2014 Try out lovergirl race but its a slightly outdated. Or look for pretty girl textures.
Sarathis Posted May 20, 2014 Posted May 20, 2014 Anyone know how to create characters that look like the one in the link I provided? I've seen other characters that look really nice, but its hard to believe its just ECE and some minor mods. You could try using Univision Face as a base. It's close to the kawaii look that the picture you linked has, though it's a bit old. You could also try out Pretty Face to see how that works.

That and I am using SG hair, the eye of beauty, and enhanced character edit. That PC certainly looks like it's from a custom race. Honestly,if you want to make a nice looking character I think all you need really is ECE, a hair mod, and SG skin textures. It's all about proportions. I generally try to follow a this thing called a golden ratio, which is a sort of an optimal distance ratio between a person's eyes, nose and mouth. http://101qs-media.s3.amazonaws.com/largethumbs/451-golden-ratio--face-and-pentagon.png here are some of my PCs as examples. Your personal preference also plays a big part in character creation. I find that once I have this look that I like, it gets hard to change it up from PC to PC. So don't worry about it too much if you can't make a character look like someone else's, create your own unique one.

Phelps1247 Posted May 20, 2014 Posted May 20, 2014 Personally I like the new race menu better than ECE so you can try that out too. Also ENBs. Pick one. It makes everything look better.
gvman3670 Posted May 20, 2014 Posted May 20, 2014 ECE also has the expression sliders. You can open the mouth a little (or a lot ). Stuff like that. But what many don't even think about is that real faces are asymetrical, at least a little. So opening one eye a little more than the other or raising one brow a smidge, that sort of thing, can give an air of realism that you notice subconsciously.
Epic Gamer Frey Posted May 20, 2014 Posted May 20, 2014 Don't even need ECE or racemenu to make beautiful characters. Finna http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/images/421870/? http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/images/421432/? With no hair http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/images/422710/?
...0... Posted May 20, 2014 Posted May 20, 2014 It depends on what you like. Go window mode and place next to your skyrim window a picture of the HEAD YOU LIKE this way you have good example of what you realy want and with trial error you can make your perfect face you like. Choose body then choose what body texture compatible with body. Matureskin fairskin realisticskin SGtexture Renewal Daughters of Skyrim and many more. You can choose wet body-muscle-shiny. skse makeup skse ini with 2024 texture eyesof beauty the natural eyes high resolution brows apachii hair-SGhair 268 You have also different textures density 1024-2048-4096 textures Try RACEMENU with all the plugins chargens. It also depend GREATLY on ENB you use how your character looks this includeds right lightning. Good luck.
Nergui Posted May 20, 2014 Posted May 20, 2014 I'm not going to suggest any specific mods like the others, since I assume that's not what you're asking. Especially since it's possible to create an attractive face in the vanilla game. I do recommend a body replacer but it's best to look at the most popular types and choose the one with the shape you like. There is one really sure fire way fire making a pretty face. Look at the faces of 'real' women and take note of how they are shaped. Since half the population is female, there are plenty of examples. Things like the jawline paying particular attention to how it's shaped. Things like position and size of the eyes, nose, lips, eyebrows, cheekbones, etc and how they all go together make a face 'female'. I do realise like most everyone you have been looking, but like most everyone you haven't been looking very carefully. This page is very helpful - http://hubpages.com/hub/better-looking-characters
Guest Posted May 20, 2014 Posted May 20, 2014 I'd say practice, lots of references and quite some time investment. It took me about one year and a half to create a decent character. You definitely won't need that long since 1. you already have all the important stuff ready, I started when the game came out. 2. your character already looks ok, if you don't believe me just look at one of my earlier characters...oh and be careful, she might set your eyes on fire: Better Females No, just no.
dobmc Posted May 20, 2014 Posted May 20, 2014 Better Females No, just no. Dunno why but I feel that post was actually meant to bait people like me. But yea still, pls no. Just leave it buried in the graveyard. Also instead of using Apachii you could instead use better hair mods such as the well known SG to the less known good ones like Morten's, zzjay's, Newsea's, and Oblivion/Fallout packs. Hopefully the last lot are still on the Nexus. I heard the Oblivion/Fallout converts were made hidden or something. Oh and don't forget pre-catch killer by kapaer. Freaking life-saver here.

I wasn't trying to "bait" anyone into some imaginary "trap" or whatever you think I was doing... I believed I was giving some helpful input. If you install that mod 1st, before any other face editing mods overwrite parts of it, I find it does help players who are new to character generation.
