Animations not starting

Recommended Posts

Any time I try to do anything sexout-related with anyone- male, female, deathclaw, etc.- the conversation options work fine, but they just walk away when the conversation is over. I can get caps or other items (sexout tryout NCR payment chips) but it doesn't even try to start an animation.

yes. What version of Sexout do you use?(stable or beta)

Posted
  • Some mods have a "cool off" period. Wait some time, usually 24 hours and try again
  • If you are getting animations elsewhere using other sexout mods then the issue might be with the mod in question. Post on that thread for an answer. Perhaps an update or compatibility issue with a specific mod that they might not be aware of.
  • If you are not getting animation at all make sure the proper NVSE version is indeed properly installed following the tutorial. Also make sure you are using the latest NVSE extender version. Some mods need this to function correctly.
  • Finally if still having problems download the newest stable Sexout - Core (no need for the Sexout - Data to be updated) and install it over the one you already have. Since you aren't sure of the version you are running. Make sure it is the stable not the beta. (If one is even available now)
  • If all else fails and it has worked in the past go back to a previous save (before the problem) and try the issue out again. If it works going forward you had some issues r/t the save.

Your issue posted in the OP wasn't very specific. No version of the mods used. No info of it it worked before or not. etc. The above is a general how to fix.

Tried making a clean save, but still encountered the same issue. Are you supposed to deactivate the Fomods along with the .esps?

All mods and NVSE were up to date as of 3/22/14.

Sexout Core was definitely the stable version, but was replaced anyway.

Went back to a much older save and everything worked. Is there anyway to tell when the saves got messed up other than trial and error?

Sorry if I'm doing something wrong, this is the first time I've ever had problems with Sexout.

You can probably fix it by casting a spell via console. If you do a search for sexout animation problems you'll find the command.

@Purplewing:  Clean saves only require you to deactivate the esps.  You don't have to deactivate the FOMODs.  To my knowledge, there's no way to tell at a glance where your corrupt save is.  :-/

While you don't have to deactivate the fomods to make a clean save, you have to remove the plugins from your data directory. If they are just deactivated but still in there, the savegame loads them as if they were still activated.

Can manually start animations through console, npc-on-npc works just fine (Workinggirl w/ Cass, Breeder deathclaw ambush), but people/creatures seemingly ignore the courier or walk away after the conversation has ended. Caps/items are given but nothing else happens. The masturbate key doesn't work either.

Removed the plugins and .bsa's from the data folder, made a new clean save. Still did not work.

Also, I may have discovered the problem save, but I have no idea what to do with it.

Wow.  And I thought that I understood clean saves.  : P. Being wrong sucks.  ; )

Yes. so I have been told a mod can still access the esp/esm even if deactivated. It has to be removed to be truly rid of the mod and make a clean save. However I would still try without removing the mod and just deactivating it first (more convenient) if it solves the problem great. If not time to remove the entire one. (not to mention anything that was reliant on that mod as well :( Or face the horror of a CTD!)

Try Sex Key. So long as you don't have any mods that use the "X" key you should find it works with most of the animals. Dogs, Gecko even the odd Supermutant and whatever that ungly thing they keep as a pet as well. Unless Pride changed something in the core you should be able to test with this mod. Also it only requires Sexout and nothing else.

Sounds like you might have a token in your inventory that shouldn't be remaining there.

Sorry I can't elucidate further atm... alcohol fog (frelling raslak)

If ChianasGeek is correct.

use the command key and input "showinventory" and see if there is any tokens that show up. If there are some that shouldn't be there you can use the "removeitem" and item number. Be careful you can hurt the game if you removed something that wasn't suppose to be. Make sure you have a hard save (command Save nameofsave)

Tried that, and the three lines at the bottom showed up:

Nothing else happened.

The only "tokens" I have are called fertility and body swap, which are from Sexout Pregnancy, I think? If there were more I didn't see them.

That screenshot isn't showing your whole inventory. You'd have to use PageUp to scroll through the rest of it, and see what else you have.

I did that-- those are the only things that are related to Sexout other than two things from SexoutBreeder.

EDIT: Started a new game, everything works perfectly. I give up.

Thank you so much for inebriated advice!

Had a problem with animations not starting, just going to 3rd person and freezing with scripts running (I assume, arousal kept increasing - even after 10 orgasms it didn't return to normal). It turns out I had an undress token, a bodyswap token and a protitute outfit token left over from working the Atomic Wrangler. Once I removeitem'ed these, Rocket was once again able to take me by surprise while we were deathclaw hunting.

I'd had this happen before but went back to an earlier save. Really didn't want to do that with this game, After War Nevada mod, hardcore, hard difficulty and a lot of time invested.

(Edit for future usefulness: Console only PageUps 3 times, hand a lot of stuff to companion/container before checking for tokens or you won't be able to see the full inventory list)

Thanks for the thanks... guess what, /me is inebriated (again)!

There's .ini settings detailed in the wiki at wikia.com or elsewhere, that allow for a much larger console history than 3 pages :)

Just in case anyone still looking for answer - it might help to launch the game without NVSE, save, rerun with NVSE and reload. Problems can be in NVSE save file.

In My Re-work of  MSexVeronic In the MCM I made and Option that removes all SexoutNG tokens that I knew of by turning it on. it just runs through, and checks if you have them, and the number that you have encase you got more than one of the same kind, it checks that also. them removes them. then sets the option in MCM back to Off.

I don't know if there have been any New SexOutNG tokens added sense I made that, but if not it should make it easier for you to remove them if you think you have one.

I would not recommend using it lightly, but I do not believe will harm anything to use it. I only placed it there as a fail safe, I kept getting some stuck on my character occasionally.

The best way is still { Console/click you character to highlight and get there name at the top/ then type showinventory/ page up - page down, to look for and item that should not be there/ if found use player.removeitem Item_Number_ID {then Number of items to remove as in 1-2-3 what ever}

I think thats right, been awhile sense I had to use it, you don't need the player. if you have your character highlighted.
