About followers, need help to decide : UFO, AFT, EFF .

I know i dnt need at all, but got desire of doing a "party" at skyrim just for fun, and omg when i searched about multiples followers for my surprise dnt exist just ufo its : Ufo, Aft, Eff, so i need know wich one goes best for my config, i using sexlab and couples mods (at attach), i just dnt wanna start a flame war about W its better of Y and Y sucks if compare with T, i just need know wich mod i have will get a problem with that or regular skyrim will get a problem with that.

* Im posting just load order from MO, if need something more for analysis lemme know.

I've always preferred the way UFO works in game, but the impact on your game itself is rather high, when you look at all the scripts involved.

As such I ended up switching to EFF.

 

EFF has a much lower impact, but I don't like the "feel" of it as much, and at times it's just flat immersion breaking, but still a very solid option.

 

I've never tried AFT, so no opinion there sorry.

@Cyndi no worries ty for answer that, im trying avoid use too much script at game (already have a good amount, so got afraid after need reinstall skyrim like 5 times because huge saves and amount of scripts).

I have been using AFT for some time and it has worked pretty well for me. I started out with UFO but switched, don't even remember why it has been so long. I have not tried EFF but since AFT has done what I wanted I don't feel the need to try something else.

I've used UFO for a long time. Works pretty well. Never tried AFT but will try it to compare when needed (usually don't use any companion). As far as i know, EFF may pose some nasty problems with some mods. So, i try to avoid it.

ah nice know, if ppl can say wich mods dnt work well with a follower expansion its will be nice so i can avoid the mod or the follower expansion.

EFF is the most up to date and pulished I'd say. It's also the most easy to use because it comes it with own dialogue for commands. UFO and ATF are complete garbage in my opinion, at least the last time I've tried they were a total desperation, specially ATF, to try to 'navigate' through the dialogue system. Well you can also skip the command dialogue in EFF if you feel it's more immersive saying the same phrases over and over than just give quick orders :P

 

ATF still have the best outfit management, though.

thanks guys got EFF now, im kinda scared of heavy scripted mods after losing everything 5 times, that why im using MO because that (and leeched Lother (and alot other ppl) like hell till learned the basic of MO, ill alwalys be glad of using MO because you guys), just got EFF and going do a new save test and play whole night testing that, thanks alot guys.

I'm using Puppet Master. It works for me and hasn't been an issue at all. From controlling what they wear to setting them unkillable to managing behaviors to sexual stuff. And it has worked on every single NPC I have tried it on.

 

Just for laughs I made a small army using it. I had 5 puppets, Lydia and was summoning two dragon priests (who like to summon or resurrect stuff). If I threw Serana in there instead of Lydia I'd have had another one added to the army, even if it was just a rabbit or chicken she resurrected! :lol:

 

Just another viable option to throw out there.

I use Puppet Master along with EFF. Not that it's necessary having both, but I havent found any uncompatibilities so far, just telling, and I get all the options from both, the utility and the kinky ones.

 

Also this combo works fine with Lover's Comfort, Romance, Submit, etc. etc. so you end up with a very rich follower system if you want.

Well, quickly because it's great time to go to bed ... in my country : there is another way if you just want a "party" : a summon spell .

 

I  found one a few days ago " On That Site Over There " , i can summon some "barmaids" and they will stay here until they die ... so , like this if you need  five or six "barmaid" , you just need to summon them.

For my followers, I use a combination of AFT, Puppetmaster, and My Home is Your Home.

I use AFT for quite since starting Skyrim, never any problem with it.

One thing I don't like in AFT is its delay during dialog setting.  :sleepy:

This.

 

AFT has so many features, it feels the most comprehensive of the three I've used. Most of those features aren't things I was crying out for, but they're fun to play around with.  Lother's opinion that it's "garbage" is a bit over the top, far from it,  but that's just mine.What I don't like is that big delay you mentioned, I don't use it in the heat of battle though,  so it's just an annoyance.  

 

I love EFF's groovy radial menu, it's very easy to set things up. It's also the most lightweight, probably ideal for ambivalent followers users like me. 

 

I dropped UFO because it went the longest without an update and there have long been ugly rumours about it being dangerously game breaking, can't say I ever noticed, but that's not saying much as I'm rubbish at diagnosing problems. But it's the one I used for the longest time and took care of my needs pretty well. It's now being updated by someone else, and the original author does comment too now. If they bring it fully up to date I'd probably go back to it.

I have never used EFF. I switched from UFO to AFT several months ago and have never regretted it. I love AFT and it works well with all sexlab mods. The clothing system is great (different default outfits for home, city, and adventuring) and you have lots of other goodies such as a campsite, animations (dancing etc.). You can make anyone your follower (almost anyone) and the dialogues are good too.

If you need just for a short moment only follower to interract like a follower , you can use this ( in command console) " bat follower " .First you need to put these instruction in a "txt" file extension ( and put this "Follower.txt" in your skyrim/data directory , where all your others ".esp" are)  :

 

StopCombat
RemoveFromAllFactions
SetRelationShipRank Player 4
AddToFaction 0005A1A4 4
AddToFaction 0005C84D 4
SetPlayerTeamMate 1
 
Well like this most of the NPC can be your follower ... but only one by one .
 
So you can summon some "Wenches" in the same place , after that use this comment  on each others ( but remember , only one by one ) to do what you want ( change their inventory or other) ...  
 
I don't use any "follower mod"  i 've no experience with multiple follower.
Maybe you sould modify their AI ( in the CK) and put them in the "follower faction " current follower faction  and potential follower faction. Not sure if this could help.
 
I've tried by the past an old "UFO" mod but i got some problems  after a few time.  ( Follower stop to follow or i couldn't find them anymore).
 
I don't  really play Skyrim since more than one year . I came back to it two weeks ago  just to achieve some before the disparition of the "XP operating system" ... dam this last point is very saddly to me. 
 
I use "DDS Converter2"  and another program ... these two one doesn't work correctly under the Windows7 operating systrm ( DDS converter 2 works perfectly with the "XP virtual mode" but not the other) so i need to finish some mod before re-installing for a last time a clean XP operating system . ... but this is another story.
 
Beware : with the "bat follower" console command you can break your game ... i actually use it on a leveled "bandit" ... this "bandit" stay with me since 6 or 7 days ( in real time as i play with the console command " set timescale to 1" )  ... i' tried also to marry him .... but it doesn't works : just before the  marriage ceremony ( in " Fallaise" sorry i'm playing with a French version  and i don't known the english location term ... well this is where you by  the "Marra's Amulet" )  all the present NPCs start to beat each others and i cannot do anything at this moment because the script wait for a cinematic ... !
 
I will try once again , but a need to modify something to realise that.
 
Just one important point : with this "Bat follower" console commande , the NPC became "Protected " ( like Lydia )   so if he is an very agressive person , you are the only one with the ability to kill him/her ... but not to stop , just kill.  
 
I  need to find another way to correct this 'issue".

Ty guys, and about the bat ill avoid that, because kinda afraid of doing mistakes, and for now im using EFF , kinda weird the menu, but just need use a bit and i got cool with that now.

The only thing i can regret with theses mods is  : no MCM configuration menu. (not for dialogues, but for general settings, it will be very nice)
