(I'd played through that border crossing at the very least about three dozen times because every time I turned around @Gristle and @killer905 were posting a new beta version.

I'd crossed the border alone, with Tirwin, with a base game follower, then with a custom follower, with Serana,  with Tirwin and a follower. My pc and the npcs I'd brought been screwed by those guards so many times that I reported it back in Falkrieth ... unfortunately the captain of the guard filed the report in the trash, he said we have to keep moral up then screwed us more😂

I'd consider those versions “Alpha,” not Beta :3

If this mod, which changes the guards from male to female, also changes the voice lines to “NordFemaleGuard” and “NordFemale” respectively, then I think the added conditions would work well,

Right. You can have female guards in the latest version, but they have to have a NordFemale voice type.

Yes, I meant alpha but are times my brain is not working,

Yes among female voices only NordFemale have any normal guard dialog. It's why most female guard mods they use the NordFemale voice because they do a swap of a few GuardImperial with GuardSons.

i.e. I did it the simplest way because it's just a template change to get imperial guards to have female guards generated among them, picked encimperialguard M7 M8 and M9.

There is a mod on nexus which adds in additional female guard voices, for those who which to do this differently.

This all aside, I'm trying to help figure out why @animal lover is having issues at the border.

Thanks a lot; the issue I had at the border has been resolved (it seems   file went missing during installation). Later, I ran into a problem where the quest wouldn't progress even after I’d killed all the orc bandits, so I used console commands to skip that part. However, after sleeping and the screen faded back in, I found myself standing by the bedside with hostile Lamia appearing in the nearby cell. I used commands to skip that step too, but when I went to see the Lord later, there were no dialogue options (judging by earlier comments, it seems the conversation with Nanya hadn't triggered). Now I'm facing an even bigger problem: whenever I wake up from sleeping, the screen goes black for a moment, and I end up back in front of the bed Thaena told me to use...😭

May I ask what skin is being used for the bodies in AMR? I always thought that I was having alignment issues with PPA, but I noticed that the npc's from AMR do not have have the same issues, even when I'm using bodyslide to change the default body shape. So perhaps it's down to the skin I'm using for PC and other npc's, which is BnP female skin.

AMR uses https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/30174 3bbb body.

But it really depends on which files you swapped out, because if it was ONLY DDS files (i.e., textures) and not the NIF files (i.e., meshes), then look for the cause in the NIF files.

In short, NIF files are responsible for physics and collision. This includes, among other things, the opening of the vagina, the anus, or even the movement of the lips or cheeks.

MAKE BACKUP FOR YOUR FILES!

So if you copy the files from meshes\Animal Mansion Reborn\Body

femalebody_0.nif

femalebody_1.nif

femalefeet_0.nif

femalefeet_1.nif

femalehands_0.nif

femalehands_1.nif

and replace to (i.e., the location where body files for the PC and other NPCs are stored, unless a given NPC uses its own as in AMR) Data\meshes\actors\character\character assets

If the PC and other NPCs (not the ones from AMR) work properly with PPA, then the problem lies with the bodytype you’re using—and there are quite a few of them.
UNP, UUNP, CBBE, CBBE 3BBB, COSIO, etc.
It’s possible that if you update your bodytype to the latest version, it will work (it will likely require regenerating the bobyslide files).

The set of files for bodies in AMR are from 2023.

Additional note: It's possible that your body type isn't compatible with CBPC. That is, the body physics mod (vagina, buthole, boobs, buttocks, etc.)

I appreciate all of the good information. I am however also using 3BBB. I figured that bodytype wise, AMR was as well, given the similarities other that this one thing. Basically, though the collision itself seems to work, the aiming seems to be more to "No Man's Land" if you've ever seen the movie Velvet Goldmine. Whereas it's spot on with the AMR npc's. That's why it occurred to me that maybe it's a skin issue instead of a bodytype issue, hence my original question.

Right now, it sounds like your 3BBB is set up incorrectly, but as I mentioned, try transferring the files from AMR to your Character and see if it works; otherwise, you’ve simply done something wrong when setting up your 3BBB.

It's certainly possible. I guess I'll try to figure out what that something might be. Thanks for the direction.

Edit: Apparently it ended up being down to the particular preset I was using. Even another that looks pretty similar overall works in that respect. It was just the one busted preset.

I don't know which version you're currently using or at what point in the mod you are, but the best option would be to load a save file from before you used Setstage at the points where you used it—and ideally, use a save file from before you installed AMR and start the adventure over in AMR, but WITHOUT using Setstage at those specific stages.

I had Annekke Crag-Jumper as a follower, and she died in a nordic ruin. I got her inheritance letter too.

About a month later, doing the Animal Mansion quest stand-in bitch, there she is again, alive... technically*... and waiting.

Spoiler

Should probably check to see that referenced actors are still alive before using unholy dark powers of necromancy to bring them back just to watch me mounted by a dog.

* Technically, in that she is half-buried in the ground. Her eyes are permanently closed but she does speak when activated. So she's sort of alive and not-alive at the same time. Like, un-dead.

Un-dead...

Oh no.

I think it's a doppelganger... AMR_FollowerAnnekkeCragJumper which uses Annekke as a template to not screw up with other mods which may alter her appearance, stats, etc... basically doing so AMR inherits her or what people did to her ... well beside kill her.

Yes, Annekke is one of the few base-game followers not marked "protected" (only a player can kill a protected follower.) I use a lot of follower replacers and she's replaced, appearance, stats, etc... and of course flagged protected then.

You know after the quest is complete she'll likely disappear again because AMR_FollowerAnnekkeCragJumper likely will be disabled I believe.

You do know she buys the dog? and becomes more of a story Issue is if she's dead the quest either cannot take place nor ever advance her buying the dog is a stage as there are no failed stages set in the quests.  I suppose @Gristle could check for deaths of every npc but if there's a psycho murderer on the loose may as well skip the mod? 🤣

Open the console and type “resurrect,” because unfortunately, the mod assumes she's alive. Otherwise, you won't be able to complete this quest.

You'll likely need to add a script to check whether the NPC is alive; otherwise, the mod will have to revive her so the player character can complete the quest.

The NPC AMR_FollowerAnnekkeCragJumper isn't used in this quest, but is ultimately intended to be used as a visitor in Masnion. Admittedly, it doesn't make much sense in her case, but we made copies of every “vanilla” Follower so they can visit Masnion without using Vanilia NPCs and forcing them to stay there.

Actually I just went with it, just to see what would happen. The quest, including all scenes and dialogue, played out normally. Annekke had no body or facial animations, eyes closed, stuck in that position. She would glide through the ground when I approached too close (the way NPCs back off when you bump into them) but otherwise no change.

After the show, she flipped onto her back and assumed a T-pose, just rotated 90 degrees. She then glided through the air, told Verner and the dog to follow, and went into her house.

I went in after her, and to my surprise she was returned to normal, as if resurrected, even though I had done nothing. Something about the cell change re-animated her. She now can be recruited again and has follower dialogue.

Quest complete.

I would put it down to Skyrim being Skyrim, or possibly emergent interaction with some other mod I have.

It's just works.

Thanks for the advice! I’ve successfully finished the entire main storyline, and now I can’t wait to play the new version! I’m looking forward to more content related to Elinhir. I think this mod has tremendous potential, you’ve done an amazing job, so keep up the great work!😘
