Mimics are activators that have scripted behavior. when you activate it.

Will you immediately notice that its a mimic?

- Yes, probably.

 

Will I implement something that fakes the quickloot menu on Mimics?

How does getting loot from the mimic actually work? I know the odds are better the longer the animation is allowed to go on (if I understand right), but does the mimic 'know' what items were meant to be in the chest it replaced (like quest items or unique/modded loot)? And could there possibly be a feature eventually to kill or 'knock out' the mimic, to loot it properly?

I keep the original container around, disable it, link it to the mimic and use it as a storage to retrieve loot.

 

You will receive the exact same loot from the exact same container, as a result the original quest should also register if you remove the quest item from the container.

one thing this could do with: mods that cause sex animations (like aroused creatues) interrupt the animation and put the player outside the chest. Would be good to flag to actor as in a scene during this so it doesnt get interrupted

Is it normal that the papyrus log bloats above 1MB after an encounter with just ONE mimic? I don't recall seeing papyrus log size larger than 600 KB after hours of playtime. Being inside a mimic makes Conditional Expressions Extended freak the hell out, also Remiels combat script is being spammed for no reason.

Conditional Expressions seems to cause stack dumps for some reason cause you are naked and get damage. Seems like a thing with conditional expressions. Try disabling damaging the player maybe and see if it changes anything.

Also if mimic sequence plays fully (mimic itself spits you out at the end) you are stuck lying on the floor, stamina drains and regenerates periodically and you keep taking damage. The only way to get out of this state is to activate the mimic again and spam QTE to get to the normal state. 

 

Think i'll finish my playthrough for now as is and maybe return to this mod later. Conceptually cool, i do wonder if it will get annoying during long play.

I cant seem to be able to break free from the chest. The bar appears at the start and I am able to key in using the keyboard to escape initially but after I get swallowed in the bar disappears and I am unable to escape by mashing the keys anymore. The animation just keeps looping and I am unable to get out of it.

You didn't trust the CK, did you? It never handles esl flagged esp's files correctly. Heck half the time it can't even handle actual ESL files.

EDIT >>> I finally got the mod in working order,

I dont know if is for this but i added the OSHIT impact framework file on top of the empty one of this mod and that got it to work fully, no more stand there in the chests anymore.

Also I tweaked the ini file provided in this mod (the one in the SKSE/Plugins etc...) I tweaked a biit that and also, cleaned the updated save game with resaver, also reinitilated the game at least three times, and also the ModOrganizer too.

Something, partially or all of that fixed the mimics in my game.

Hopefully this will help someone.

I would assume that its a "vore" chest. As I wrote on the main page under known issues for TNTR:

  • "Vore" traps don't release or kill the playe

 

As a workaround you can enable the "bad end" option in MCM, so that it will kill you instead. Thats what its for.

A hard no, the impact framework is a configuration for object impact framework, which lets you destroy items by hitting on them. The configuration just overwrites that file, so that no longer happens, because if you destroy the mimic you can no longer access its loot.

You didn't trust the CK, did you? It never handles esl flagged esp's files correctly. Heck half the time it can't even handle actual ESL files.

 

 

Yeah I used "compact form IDs" once, but I did a blunder and added those globals afterwards and forgot to execute it again :( 

 

Damn.

 

It might probably break save games if I change it now. Ill see what I can do to fix it.

It can destroy saves if you leave it like is, with those out of bound records for a light plugin. I doubt it, far as I understand the mechanic it would require a rather unlucky combination of mods, but hey people also win the lottery. :P 
Pretty sure cleaning those saves should prevent them from breaking. Leaving a bug to cause further problems, just to avoid possible save game problems seems not a good solution. Just warn people who already use these not to update if they are worried and give anyone else clean esp's please.

Oh you misunderstood me, I was definitely going to do an update. I was just annoyed by the ramifications.

 

 

 

 

 -> FormID Fix <-

I've provided a patched version 1.1.0, but the migration is not that easy. You should all do it, to avoid problems in the long run.

 

 

Best Option (please do this)

 

Revert to a save before you installed version 1.0.0/1.0.1 or get a clean save.

 

 

Alternative: Migrating save from 1.0.0/1.0.1 (at your own risk)

 

These steps make sure that the properties on all quest are properly re-initialized. Unfortunately, the game will also"forget" placed mimics, so you need to remove all of them via MCM before you do that. Heres the steps:


1. Do not install the new version yet, keep the old version and open the game
2. Open the TNTR: Not-So-Obvious-Mimics MCM and go to "Debug"
3. Go to "Danger Zone" and click "Destroy all Mimics"
4. Wait a minute and save the game (do not wait on the second popup, there will be none)

 

*Exit Game*

 

5. Close the game, disable the entire mod (or disable GR_MimicPlacer.esp)
6. Open the game without the mod, wait a few minutes and save.

 

*Exit Game*

 

7. Install the new version.
8. Start the game

so I have no idea what I even did wrong I installed everything needed and it seems to work but only when am not in a place with no chest but the second I go out of whiterun the game CTD in any cell where chest can spawn.

Papyrus Extender Version lower than 6.30?

 

If you have CrashLoggerSSE installed that crash log could help.

I just updated, made a new save, when i exit realms of lorkhan (startup area) the game has an infinite black screen, but no crash.

no the version was 6.30 but I fixed it by using Disabled Reference Integrity Fix it works now with no problems
