value_undefined Posted March 28 Posted March 28 Dumb question as I know you just had to look at the Form IDs. They all appear to be esl compatible now with the latest update but the header flag for ESL was removed. Is there a specific reason for this? I'm running a heavy modlist so I'd prefer to flag it as ESL if I can.
RooksLab Posted March 29 Posted March 29 (edited) While it's really funny, I gotta ask if this works if I order companions to open chests for me. Because every time I order someone to open a chest, they'll walk up to it, interact with it and then they'll get punted across the dungeon instead of being eaten. which, while insanely funny, was part of why I wanted to install this. Though maybe it's an issue with O S.H.I.T EDIT: Yeah, if I debug add a normal mimic, then kill it with the spell, then make a vore mimic, it'll have the violent mimic and the vore mimic inside of each other Edited March 29 by RooksLab

I'm trying not to change the behavior of the original traps because its gonna get updated eventually. 16 hours ago, value_undefined said: Dumb question as I know you just had to look at the Form IDs. That was yet another mistake, I did the whole thing and forgot to add the flag... Thats what you get for fixing things in a hurry. I'm gonna have to do yet another annoying update... So anyone that runs 1.1.0 and intends to stay upgrade-able must do to the same migration again. However, if you just want to stay on 1.1.0, it shouldn't be an issue, because this time at least its not really broken, just lacks the esl flag. Edited March 29 by gerroth 2

I manually flagged mine when I noticed it so I just wanted to make sure I wasn't going to cause myself headaches down the line. Thanks for putting this mod together. It's exactly what I was hoping for when I first saw TNTR. Edited March 29 by value_undefined
jbezorg Posted March 30 Posted March 30 Alerting nearby enemies seems to get everything. A giant's chest was trapped and it attracted every deer, elk, wolf,... and the giant. It looked like they were lining up to board Noah's Ark.
RunicGray Posted March 30 Posted March 30 Started the mod on a new game. Went through all of Bleak Falls Barrow, quick-saving before every chest in paranoia. Get to the Word Wall, decide to be sneaky and loot the boss chest while the Draugr Lord is still waking up - eaten by a mimic. One time I hadn't saved first. 🤦 One suggestion I might have is to force to third-person when you get caught by a mimic, as mine stayed in first-person and it took me a minute to realised why I couldn't move before checked third-person camera. Unless this is a setting already there and I missed it?
Halakason Posted March 30 Posted March 30 Is it possible to get some support for male MCs? This game needs more Monster Girls.

Giants and mammoths are all moving too close to the chest and are pushing the player way off the mimic and out into the open.
Spoilerman Posted March 31 Posted March 31 (edited) do i need a new save for this or is the 1.20 version safe to add? Edited March 31 by Spoilerman

You are on the save side to reset, if you can, but you can also do the destroy mimics -> disable plugin -> install update thing I've described in the log.

I found it, I forgot the ActorTypeNPC condition on some of the higher numbered aliases. When I tested it i didn't trigger it, but once enough enemies are nearby it triggers. I will fix it, thanks for reporting... 1
Spoilerman Posted April 2 Posted April 2 ok so...dumb question...how do i recover my shit? D: i have the quest and it mentions "a better way" but i can't figure out what i can or can't do...

The "a better way" references two mechanisms I have not yet implemented: Add a scroll to "purge mimics" and distribute it to vendors Attack the chest and have it "eject" items If you want a cheat, you can also just learn the "Destroy Mimics" spell from MCM and cast it on the mimic. That will destroy it and return the regular chest with all your stuff.

gerroth Posted April 3 Author Posted April 3 4 hours ago, Spoilerman said: yeah i went back and checked but i don't have any "retrieve loot" option, do you mean "enable finding loot"? I was talking about "find loot", its kind of random what you get so you can adjust those chances and the item amount. I'm aware that its not optimal right now. Also I think the quest is buggy, i.e. it won't terminate if you get your items back.

gerroth Posted April 4 Author Posted April 4 (edited) 6 hours ago, Spoilerman said: so...save before opening chests or keep the spell at the ready in case i lose something REALLY important, got it Well you can really just get the "destroy mimics" spell at any point, not required to "save" that would also ruin the fun, (kind of). A few things I want to clarify how the "find items" mechanic works, because technically thats not necessary if you configure the chest correctly. It is ALWAYS possible to get your items back using "in-game" mechanics without cheats. Spoiler While you jump into the chest (lets assume a "consensual" session to retrieve items, in which you dropped all your gear): There's a "Loot chance (per tick)" setting Every tick (12s) a roll is done with this value (0=0% chance, 1=100%) whether you will "find" an item Whenever this roll succeeds, you receive a random item type from the chest If there's 4 item types in the chest + gold, the chance to get the gold is 20% If there's 1 item in the chest + gold the chance to get gold is 50% etc... The amount of items you can possibly receive is capped by "Max Items" settings, If "max items" is 2, you can *at most* win two rolls If there's two item types in the chest (gold + your item) the chance to get gold on each roll is 50% If you win two rolls, according to statics, you have 75% chance to get your item "Chance accumulates" means that the percentage to loot items will cumulatively add up each tick, until you win it, then its back at "Loot chance". If your loot chance is 0.08, (8%): First tick rolls 8% Second tick rolls 16% etc.. Things you can do to increase the chance to get items: Increase max amount of looted items in MCM Increase chance to loot items in MCM Keep "Chance accumulates" enabled, that makes item retrieval almost certain at some pint Remove your gear, so the Mimic can't steal your items again Edited April 4 by gerroth

No, retrieving loot has nothing to do with winning/losing QTE. If anything, you have to lose so you spent more time in the Mimic.
