It's sad to hear it's getting abandoned. I wouldn't really do it in the same way, but it's true that part of my long term potential ideas for the mod included making you able to choose different dynamics/stories that are more specific to the type of familiar relationship, which I think is somewhat similar to what Forbidden Fruit (already) does. For example, just to think of one, a dynamic where a parent becomes divorced/widowed and the adult child wants to step up as "substitute". However, it could be a long time before I get to that since there are other feaures I want to implement before that I still haven't even figured out how to

I just wanted to jump in and say thank you for updating and to not beat yourself up over it. I play another game that I write re-balancing mods for (it's much easier in that game lol) and there have been so many times where the initial test seemed fine and then when I actually sat down to play I realized i had forgotten something that seemed obvious in retrospect. I think it's a pretty easy thing to do, especially when you are trying to quickly update your mod for yet another semi-game breaking EA update! I know I, and I'm sure everyone else who uses your mod, definitely appreciate how attentive you have been to the issues we brought up and that you provide us this mod in the first place.

 

I did have a question for future saves: Is it possible to have the incest interactions with teen Sims if both partners in the interaction are teens? I understand from the comments the functionality for Teen/Young Adult or Teen/Adult appears to be removed at this time, but could teen siblings have the incest interactions? (I don't currently have a save this would apply to, but I'm constantly starting new families so just wanted to check for the future.)

Hey, just to let you know, this has been working for me forever, (so I hope it's intended), my save is basically just secret incestuous teen siblings

It's weird. It's still different results for different saves. Still getting the unrelated couples with the "enable discovery" option on some saves but not others. I even created a new save with mum, dad (YAs) and twin boy and girl (T) and the mum and dad still had the option to enable discovery and mentor etc. My apologies (I can be a bit slow sometimes) just realised you've taken the parent/child option out which is a shame because I have a few saves with this relationship and had been exploring that part of the mod first before exploring the teen sibling side of it. I took all mods bar the essential ones needed for the mod to work out of the mod folder to make sure it wasn't another mod broken or clashing.

That's odd, I'll look into it. I checked and I did take out the Friends bit I included by mistake as allowing those interactions, but maybe I've missed another one. Thank you for telling me! About parent-child relationships: the interactions are not disabled for them, only when one is a teen and the other an adult, so if you age the offspring up to YA it should work, if it's working right

Thank you for your words; I really appreciate it 😊 Yeah, modding can be quite maddening hahah, there's few things that make me constantly aware how little human error can be escaped as much 😅

 

About that, yep, the interactions are enabled for either Teen-Teen or YA/Adult/Elder-YA/Adult/Elder

It seems like the new update is still acting up and fucking up your mod, the "having sex with family member" debuff moodlet and the incestual interactions kept happening to Sims who are married in my game. It doesn't matter if it's the active Sim who is married, married to someone else not even present on the lot or the target, or if it's the NPC Sim who's married to someone unrelated. I'll get the debuff as long as one of them tied the knot. I've double checked too, not because of the now defunct Forbidden Fruit mod that I still had in my folders either since it still shows up on a fresh save without it.

Minor inconvenience, but thought I let you know on the matter. You're doing great man, it's really cool you're doing this for us degenerates.

As far as I know, you can use normal romance interactions after a certain romance level without the other reacting negatively, but the "incest" trait doesn't automatically get applied (yet, it's planned) and had to be added manually at the moment.

Is there a way for this to be disabled by default for any sim who does not have the incest trait? Sims who don't even have siblings (and are male) can "Reveal incest pregnancy," for one thing, but also I'd generally prefer that even related sims not have access to incest interactions unless that's manually enabled somehow. Maybe there's a setting I'm missing?

Also, if you would consider adding incest relationships as secrets and scandals with the new Royalty & Legacy pack, that would be awesome

Thank you ! I've crosschecked the relbit tests again and I can't seem to find any relbits that are out of place so uh, I don't know how but I'll try to fix it somehow or look again. Married sims in  my game don't seem to get it, so it might be something else I didn't notice triggering it. You're sure you downloaded and installed the one from last thursday or today, right?

If you just gave it to them, that's intended. It doesn't depend on friendship, but on a hidden relationship track. You have to perform more persuasive interactions to unlock more stuff little by little. First non-touching romance, then touching then sex at which points the persuasion stuff goes away. Some friendly interactions that have the persuasion icon raise the hidden reltrack too, as well as romance when it is unlocked. If you don't wanna got through all that, you can give them the incest trait manually

If that interaction is popping up like that, it's bug. I've gotten it before, but didn't know it was still there, even though I have given it a gazillion conditions like having the pregnant trait and can't tell what could cause it yet... I'll look into it.  

About the other things, I don't have the scripting knowledge to make actual settings, there could be a workaround, but for now I intend to keep it this way. As for R&L, scandals and secrets, from what I know, seem to be much more complicated to implement than it appears, since they rely on some centralized system with many interrelated parts that would also require custom scripts for injection (I don't know scripting), haven't looked into it much myself, but yeah it's unlikely I'll be able to do that unfortunately, at least as of now. If you want something similar, the mod has a system for exposing people's incestuous relationships

I have the newly updated download and am also still getting sims who are in no way related getting options as if they were. It's hit or miss as to witch couples do though. I drove myself crazy (before I decided to check here and realized you had tried to fix the issue) with one couple because they are my most wholesome couple, trying to figure out my issue, thinking it was something I messed up on the characters. I even made a twin of my sim and hooked her up with a completely different safe guy on a different save and she ALWAYS triggers the incest options no matter with who or what I change on her. Like she is related to the world. But I have other couples that don't trigger it, even though they have just as much friendship and romance with their partners.

I downloaded the latest update of this mod. From what I’ve tested, it looks like incestuous interactions are still available for unrelated Sims but only if they’re married to each other. Otherwise, everything seems to work as intended. I only tested this in a new game so far.

Hi guys, thank you all for your feedback and patience. It appeared to have been an upload issue. I have uploaded a new version (again) and I think the changes should be reflected now.

I guess this is why I wasn't getting it in my testing. I was at the end of my wits, so I redownloaded my mod and compared it with my own exported version. What would you know... mysteriously, the version I had uploaded  simply didn't have that fix or any others since, it's as if I never uploaded any new versions  to begin with🤦‍♂️. This is the second time this happens, despite it saying that a new version was uploaded. I was (am) sure I did select the right files. Next time I'll check it actually went through cause damn it's frustrating to think it's as if I didn't do anything

Thank you. As far as i can tell it seems to be fixed now.

 

I did want to mention that when my sister brother pair interacts he has the correct wording  something like kissing while calling her sister but hers say kissing while calling him dad. The flirting while calling brother is accurate just the kissing one is off.

Oh, Tessavale's comment reminded me, I had a similar problem where a mother would have the option to kiss her son and it would say "Kiss while telling him how much you love him as a Dad", and when their relationship was exposed a lot of the hate mail directed at her also said "Dad" instead of "Son".

Hey I started a completely new save with the latest version of the mod and the incest interaction tab isn't appearing when I go to have my brother Sims interact, one has the incest trait the other doesn't, it appears when clicking on self though
