NVSE Issue....Yes, another one :)

NVSE is basically refusing to cooperate at this point, and while I am sure it is something I have done to anger it, I have no idea what the trouble is. I included screenshots of the install locations and of the message I am receiving when I try to launch NVSE through FOMM or via the Nvse_Loader.  Any help here would be greatly appreciated.

NOTE: This is a fresh install of NV

Your problem might be Windows 8 related, I don't know the solution if so, but if you search the forums you should find something

Have you installed the v4 beta version of NVSE? If so, you could try installing it again.

It looks like a new install, did Fallout NV ever work?

In the BMPs the message he's getting is "The file at that location is corrupt or unreadable" for nvse_launcher.exe.

You could have a corrupt download, so download it again. I'd expect in that case the archive extract to detect the error, but sometimes it doesn't.

Have you tried starting the game from the nvse_loader.exe in your fall out nv folder?

Get the same error when I try to launch from the .exe in the NV folder

I just did this fresh install thinking perhaps something had been borked, NV functioned correctly in fact it still functions fine. NV launches fine through Steam or through it's Launcher, NVSE just doesn't launch at all.

Same thought I had originally so redownloaded and still get the same error. I apologize for responding to you all individually, but replying from my phone currently and multi quote replies are a no-go.

Single reply is fine.

There is nothing *that* wrong with NVSE or the Extender. The error you're getting indicates the file is damaged. This happened during download or extraction, and my only other idea is that you're in my boat now -- failing hardware.

I certainly hope failing hardware isn't my problem, running a 2 month old Seagate Barracuda. I was using Extender v11 and decided to go ahead and update to v12 which is when it all went downhill.  I'll remove all the files and try again, perhaps it will see it's way clear to working this time :)

Edit: Removed all files and reinstalled, same problem. Absolutely at a loss unless UnPacker is the problem, pretty sure that is what I used the first time around however. Will try a different program and check results.

Ok, reinstalled all files and extracted using Mzip this time. Still not working however with a different error, now says that it is not a valid Win32 file.

On the off chance that there actually IS something wrong with the download, can someone else grab it and make sure it's working? I can't do it right now.

I highly suspect it's either malware or failing hardware on your end though, Zodiac. That or something broken in your firewall or AV configuration.

Well NVSE will now launch, using the GetNvseVersion command shows version 4. I assume that is the correct version or should it be reading as version 12? WinZip 18.0 appears to be the way to go, at least as far as my issue is concerned.

Thanks for the ideas guys everything is running fine now. Looks like UnPacker and MZip may have been causing the corruption during extraction, used WinZip 18.0 and worked flawlessly.
