The Pokemon League Update

 

Before I have my birthday tomorrow and receive my gifts, I thought it would be nice of me to give you all a gift first.

In this update, all important named trainers have been added, including gym leaders, elite four, and even the VS Seeker people (though only in Fire Red).

I have a feeling that Fire Red and Leaf Green are going to go by really fast, even faster than I could expect them to.

I'll do my best to keep updating y'all by adding sprites into the game the week they're posted, but two weeks from now I'm starting a new internship, so I will be a lot busier and stressed than normal. I hope I don't get stressed out too much.

I enjoy making these hacks and hope I don't need to step back or delay things too much.

 

Also, on a more relevant note, the overworld sheet has been improved so that it doesn't get compressed as much due to its verticality. Do you like it?

 

On Erika, Personmcguy's got 10 votes and Mx. Downbad's got 9 votes, so I just made it so that Personmcguy's was used in Fire Red and Mx. Downbad's was used in Leaf Green as a compromise.

So I was working on this for the young couple sprite and just loved the idea of them still keeping their matching heart hoodies. I don't how much of a bother a discrepancy would be though since their overworld sprites are shared with other classes.

That IS really cute.

Though fair point on them sharing overworld sprites with other classes.

Maybe we could transform the heart hoodies into heart tattoos?

I came up with a couple of versions to try turning the hearts into some kind of tattoo or body art

My suggestion is to translate the hearts into their hair via hair accessories or just straight up styling their hair onto heart shapes

I think body art would be a nice replacement, or a big necklace for them both. Body art, imo, would work well in a nudist world.

Yeah what kind of nudist world would it be if no one was rocking some kind of body paint. Unfortunately the sprite size and palette limits might make that difficult for this game.

Body paint could be something dived into if we do XY or ORAS after finishing B2W2.

Mx. Downbad knows how to model for cases where we can't just change textures.

Honestly, if yall end up doing X/Y, I'll look forward to that the most. I know the rep X/Y gets, but its one of my top 3 favorites alongside US/UM.

It does sound fun, especially because Serena is literally the only character that has a nude mod, but texture-making is a lot harder than pixel art, so we may not end up doing it unless we get the skills.

Mx. Downbad could probably do it, with help of course. That enby is absolutely cracked. I've seen their work on 2D and 3D.

 

Though we still have four other games to finish before we think about XY.

There's gotta be a better name. Frenulum's one of the grosser genitalia words, and labium is a weird one too. Like labia is fine but I've never actually heard labium before. A singular labium. I don't really like imagining a singular labium.

Free and Liberated are much better I think. Even if there's possible overlap with America themed rom hacks.

Could make Free into Free-spirited.

I keep seeing loose as a synonym of free and that could work but I think the sexual meaning of the word might be a downside to it. Some variant on it like let loose, or loosened might be options.

There is Libertine which I've often seen used to describe nudists though there's a big wikipedia page for all the details of the word that I don't want to read through right now so maybe it's got too many other meanings.

There's a lot of like, lewd, licentious, lustful, lascivious, and more words for L which I don't think is the goal but I'm trying to throw out lots of possibilities.

I found leafless as a synonym for nude on thesaurus.com which I've never heard before and I don't see on other dictionary sites but would be appropriate if recognized well enough.

I've been unable to think of or find any alternate f words except possibly flagrant but I don't think it's very good. I do at least think free-spirited is a great one.

Got some more done. The male psychic is a bit funky having to make his left hand from scratch since its originally in his pocket. I made another version of the couple just with nothing extra and a rough heart necklace just to get an idea of what it could look like
