Can anyone help me when i try to use fmodels my old mods are instantly being pulled in with the normal files and i don't know why because i dont even have the on my computer anymore

Yeah, when you unpacked it it looks like you export directly to the MarvelGame folder, so just be sure you want to add a mod before unpacking. 

To change this behavior in the future, in FModel, go to Settings and change your output folder to /unpack inside that MarvelGame folder, or choose somewhere else.  Then you'll just copy/paste the Marvel folder that is generated in Exports when you unpack them going forward.

Sounds like you are using the default folder for exporting the unpacked mods?  Which would mean whenever you unpack a mod it's doing it right into the game files.

 

Settings -> Output Directory

Whole lotta quitters in this community fr.... it was easy to get mods working and if it's this easy might as well ride the wave to see where the devs go next...

for the pak file you delete (the characters one), you just have to restore it and the game will only take that and ignore the character/vfx folders you exported and put into files.

also, instead of deleting the .pak file, id recommend just using the rename thing to add '.bak' to the end of the file to change its extension, which has the same functionality as deleting it but makes it easier to enable by just getting rid of the .bak you added to the end of the file name

To those still dont know how to use mod in season 1 , here is a guide

 

download the latest Mod Manager , 

 

backups these three files in MarvelRivals\MarvelGame\Marvel\Content\Paks , pakchunkCharacter-Windows.pak,     pakchunkWwise-Windows.pak,      pakchunkVFX-Windows.pak

 

start Mod Manager and wait for a while,

 

restore these files,start game check whether it breaks up,if  working,then delete pakchunkCharacter-Windows.pak

 

now you can add mods in Mod Manager,   .paks or .zip both ok 

 

if mod is unpacked,  just zip up and make sure zip file has the right format . 

 

 

eg     image.png.c63ce1d8275e5b6b71bb18596a0a7218.png    Numbers corresponding to roles

 

Ignore decompression options on subsequent launches,just click cancel

and dont enable .temp_unpack in your mod. (i dont what it is, it just showed up when i start again)

not needed if youre only doing charaters mod, the wwise is also the same cuz that one is for audio

This is just conjecture but I believe the host of the document rage quit the modding scene of this game because of the update. I could be wrong, but that is what I believe happened based on their messages after the patch. Not sure why he'd also delete that, but....

understandable, not only it changed how shit is done, it broke mods (including the ones people paid for), the mod managers only make things worse and it will probably break even more in the future

 

somehow i knew this would happen (the anti-mod thing), and it was really a blow to people that sell mods
