Thank you. Is there a way to return things to default? I dont know whats original or not.

If you still have the original characterwindows.pak from the game files just drop it back in, unpack it again, and then move that export somewhere so you always have the default files.

Now you can just overwrite the mods with the necessary files.  Easiest way to see is to unpack the mod again, check which folders or files its replacing, and grab them from the folder and replace by hand.

It's much more tedious than removing the pak from your ~mods folder...but that's why someone is working hard on a mod manager, to abstract this process.

There is one file that can extract pak so you can move then files to characters folder but someone else needs to provide you the link.
I feel like it was at MR mod discord.

It's not so complicated if you follow the instructions (page 11 if I remember correctly).

Have faith and hope. And don't hesitate to ask questions if you're stuck :)

This is my video in case it's helpful;  Marvel Rivals - How To Mod Season One   Just think of it differently.

Unpacking the files is just putting them on a desk from a folder.  Create a copy of this folder somewhere to clear specific mods later (it's about 13GB for the characters).  Someone also posted the unmodified on nexus.

Drop this unpacked file into the MarvelGame folder.

Then you replace the files on the desk with the mods you want.

Finally, move the original game .pak file for Character out of the MarvelGame/Marvel/Content/Marvel/Pak folder and anything you unpacked into the MarvelGame folder will now be used as your live files.

To set the game back to default re-add the pak files to the folder.  Then just remove them again to re-mod it.  To support streaming TOS or what-have-you.

It does not have to be activated.  Windows isn't participating in this.

I would recommend if you've already had issues to clear out your MarvelGame/Marvel/Content/Marvel folder, it should only have the NonAssetsToCopy folder in it by default.  And restore all the pak files via steam verification or if you saved them originally.

Once that's done unpack the pakchunkCharacter-windows.pak, then drop that exported folder into the MarvelGame folder.  Once you've done this your game is still stock, you just have expanded the pak file.

Now remove pakchunkCharacter-windows.pak from the MarvelGame/Marvel/Content/Marvel/Pak folder.

Start the game.  Does it still work?   Congrats, it's ready to mod.

Now open a separate location where you have the mod pak files you want to use.  Export each of them using the same method as unpacking the original game files.

Now copy that exported Marvel folder into the MarvelGame folder, it will bring all the mods you exported with it at once.

If you STILL have issues then I recommend uninstalling the game via Steam or Epic, deleting everything from inside MarvelGame folder to be sure, then re-installing and unpacking fresh.

bit the bullet and used fmodel. wasn't that hard, but it was lengthy. got skin mods working fine, but now how do i get sound mods to work?

edit: nvm didnt know I had to extract more and then also remove wwise.pak from the equation. they work now.

Same process but using the wWise.pak file.   For UI mods do HQ and LQ pak then move them outta the pak folder
