RedHeadAngel Posted December 7, 2024 Posted December 7, 2024 (edited) I don't know what happened. Out of nowhere, my character started doing this. I know it's a missing textures thing, so I tried reinstalling my skin mod, Fair Skin Complexion, but that didn't work. Then I thought it was because I used this mod (dw's Pregnant Normal Maps for CBBE 3BA), but after deactivating it and going into a brand-new game, the issue persists. I don't know what is going on or why this is happening. I recently installed Fertility Mode and Fill Her Up Baka Edition, but I don't see how either of those mods could have possibly caused this. After having done thorough testing, I have found no cause for this. I have tried starting over on a completely new save with no overlays or overlay colors, and the issue still happened after playing for a bit. So, I resorted to trying to hunt the problem down. I tried seeing if RaceMenu was causing it, so I used it, exited the game, and then came back. The problem didn't happen. I tried seeing if it was saving a certain amount of times, so I went onto a brand new game and saved 20 times, and the problem didn't occur. I did the same after becoming a vampire. Nothing. I don't know what to do now. I am so fucking frustrated I could fucking scream. Edited December 10, 2024 by RedHeadAngel
Seijin8 Posted December 7, 2024 Posted December 7, 2024 Probably a missing body overlay. Could be from Slavetats or something similar. If you are using Racemenu, look for a named texture under "Body Textures" and either make it transparent or switch it to "default" to see if the problem goes away. 1

CaptainJ03 Posted December 7, 2024 Posted December 7, 2024 I had that once when I loaded and older preset on a new install and had forgotten some tattoo (don't remember if it was in racemenu or slavetats) Did you edit the number of allowed overlays? That gave me a blue head once... If you happen to be one of us weirdos who keep installing and deinstalling mods as they go along, I can only suggest to take notes in a kind of diary, and have hard saves at the points where things still worked. 7 hours ago, RedHeadAngel said: I recently installed Fertility Mode and Fill Her Up Baka Edition, but I don't see how either of those mods could have possibly caused this. What happens when you deinstall them? A lot of mods do things they don't talk about. I just got disgusting loading screens and have no idea where those came from (but I'll start my own thread for that...)
traison Posted December 7, 2024 Posted December 7, 2024 When your character is blue, open RaceMenu, save a preset and analyze the resulting jslot file for missing skin overlays and overrides.

Sure fire way to get presets borked.

I didn't have any overlays or overlay colors added to my character. Even then, I checked every single slot in RM to be sure. The only overlay I had that wasn't part of my preset was this one. Nothing changed after I set it back to default and removed the color. So, I know that wasn't the issue, so I added it back. However, I do think I know what the issue was. I'll get to that once I'm done addressing the others who commented. 4 hours ago, Gukahn said: 10 bucks it's Horny creatures of Skyrim 🥷 I don't use mods like that. I just got disgusting loading screens and have no idea where those came from (but I'll start my own thread for that...) So, after spending an hour going through threads and wanting to blow up the goddamn planet, I think I found the issue. I found a thread that mentions practically the same issue I was having. Apparently, the maker of Fertility Mode for SE (I don't know if it's on LE, and I honestly don't give a fuck) failed to mention that there's a mod that, if you don't have it, your body will turn purple. That mod is Skin Feature Overlays SE. After removing FM from my load order, the issue seems to be fixed because I've been messing around on my current save for over 2 and a half hours without turning into the forbidden love-child of Black Widow and Thanos, which is the longest I've gone without encountering the problem. Here's the thread if you want to read it. Hopefully, it will stay that way. I appreciate almost everyone who commented here. Edited December 7, 2024 by RedHeadAngel Added a link to the thread. 1
CaptainJ03 Posted December 7, 2024 Posted December 7, 2024 Glad that you were able to track it down and find a solution! 1 hour ago, RedHeadAngel said: 5 hours ago, Gukahn said: 10 bucks it's Horny creatures of Skyrim 🥷 I don't use mods like that. If the problem comes back, I'll let you know.

Overrides are probably not even visible in RM's GUI, not to mention that there's slots for overrides that aren't even listed in the GUI. The jslot file should be inspected, regardless of what you think you have applied. Since removing FM appears to have fixed it, most likely what it was doing was altering the normal map with an override. Removing the script (obviously) stops it from adding an override with an invalid data entry. To put it simply, FM was missing a texture file. Edited December 7, 2024 by traison

Would it have something to do with Fertility Mode changing the belly size? If so, that wouldn’t make sense due to the fact that my character wasn’t even pregnant. This is why I'm still not sure if removing the mod worked because something just doesn't add up.
RedHeadAngel Posted December 8, 2024 Author Posted December 8, 2024 I feel like it's pretty definitive at this point. I've been on this save for over 3 and a half hours now and haven't had the bug. I think it's safe to say now that Fertility Mode was, in fact, the cause. I don't want to use that mod anymore. Not because of this. OK. It is partially because of this but also because of how buggy FM is in general. Is there another pregnancy mod out there? I need one for something I want to do.

RedHeadAngel Posted December 10, 2024 Author Posted December 10, 2024 So, the issue is NOT resolved. Even without Fertility Mode, the issue is still happening. I don't know anymore. It's not some missing overlays. It's not missing textures from FM. I don't know what the hell it is. I'm so fucking fed up with this.

If you use slavetats go to it's mcm and see if anything is being applied and reset your characters tats.

Also, I’ve already gone through my overlays to see if any are causing the issue. I was unable to find any.

ghastley Posted December 11, 2024 Posted December 11, 2024 (edited) Could it be a magic effect shader, and not an overlay at all? I vaguely recall getting this same situation of a normal head but a reshaded body when trying to create a ghost shader without the particle cloud. The application of the skin tint to the body/hands/feet depends on the shader for those being "Skin" which then pulls in the rest, including the overlays. You get a similar effect by entering "Player.setrace NordRaceAstrid" in the console, as the AstridBody armor that race uses as its naked skin has the Default shader instead of Skin. A magical effect that applies a shader can do so permanently, as with the headless horseman's ghost effect. In his case, of course, there is no head to apply it to. Edited December 11, 2024 by ghastley Clarification of naked body being an armor.
Tlam99 Posted December 11, 2024 Posted December 11, 2024 (edited) Looks like a sRGB saved dds and not linear. (Head linear) I would try a complete new skin overwriting the old one. Edited December 11, 2024 by Tlam99
