nehaberlan Posted September 30, 2024 Posted September 30, 2024 Hi, Few days ago, someone asked me a question not related to my mod. I told him that I had no knowledge about the question that he was asking. And I suggested him to ask to the Technical Support. Then, he didn't stop to ask me the same question and insist to send posts about the same question. I told him the same thing. "I don't know. Ask to the Technical Support". Right now, he's really annoying. It feels like he's harassing me. In the last response that I sent him, I said to him that if he wrote again about the same question, I wouldn't reply, and I would report to Technical Support. I don't know how to report someone to the technical support, and how does it work. I just want him to get a warning at least. Maybe, he can learn how to treat people a little bit. If you can help me anyway, I'll appreciate...
MadMansGun Posted September 30, 2024 Posted September 30, 2024 the site does have a report button as well as a block list. https://www.loverslab.com/ignore/ 2

It works. Another important thing is making this kind of people get a warning or have been banned. If he continues to disturb me I'll try that report option. Thank you...

From what I read, there is a CTD with your mod and that's why the user wrote. He wrote in the right place - in the mod's thread. We in technical support are not responsible for errors in mods that the author himself doesn't understand. And just because a user doesn't dance to your tune and writes his problem description in the mod thread (where it belongs) you want to punish/ban him. Who the hell do you think you are?

He tried a modification on my mod's face via RaceMenu. As I know, there is no way to open an NPC's face in RaceMenu. If there is a way, I don't know how to do it. For that reason, I suggest him to ask to the technical support. If he was asking about a bug like meshes/textures problem, I could help him. My mod works fine. I want to say something. My mods requires SexLab, SOS. If he asks me a question about SexLab or SOS, what can I say? I know nothing about SexLab or SOS. How can be helpful about about these mods? I can just suggest him to ask to the technical support.

Wrong. You can advise him to describe the problem in the SexLab and SOS mod thread. Technical support is the last port of call. And if he doesn't do that, that's still no reason to want to punish or ban him.

However, the problem is he does modification by himself. For that reason he got CTD. Not because of my mod. It would be better if he asked to technical support a question like this: "When I open an NPC's face in RaceMenu, I get CTD, what can I do?" Or google it. If he were using my mod without making any changing, he wouldn't get any problem. He just forced me to open the NPC's face in RaceMenu. I said him how to do that. No answer. What can I advise him? He never said a proper answer that I could understand. If he gave me some answers like how he opened the NPC's face in RaceMenu, what he did, when he got CTD, maybe I could be more helpful. Then, I could suggest more options how to solve his problem, however I don't understand anything at all. Edited September 30, 2024 by nehaberlan
Just Don't Posted September 30, 2024 Posted September 30, 2024 You can just refuse to support that user if they're modifying your files and you're not familiar with the changes or issues. Just communicate you're not supporting that and to seek help elsewhere. If they keep insisting you ignore/block them and move on. If they escalate to harass you in messages or other forum posts you report that user. 1
nehaberlan Posted September 30, 2024 Author Posted September 30, 2024 I have a question to moderators: What they do if there is someone, who's rude and/or disturbs people? Nothing? Not even sending a warning message?

I tried to report him. Until now, by the response that I've gotten for my request, I'm wrong, he's right.
Andy14 Posted September 30, 2024 Posted September 30, 2024 1 hour ago, nehaberlan said: What can I advise him? He never said a proper answer that I could understand. The easiest thing to do is to simply ignore him or block him with a short notice before. That's the easiest thing to do. Then you'll have peace and quiet and he can think about what he did wrong. 28 minutes ago, nehaberlan said: Until now, by the response that I've gotten for my request, I'm wrong, he's right. I'm not saying he's right, I'm saying don't use a cannon to kill a sparrow.😉 1
woodsman30 Posted September 30, 2024 Posted September 30, 2024 Modding has always been and always will be a users choice to download a mod and use it at their own risk. If the mod works as it should in the original download and someone alters it a mod maker cannot be responsible for changes made to the original mod by a user. Unless they PM you I would ignore them and chalk it up to you cannot please everyone. 1

You say, as in write in a reply to that user, that supporting users modifying your files is not something you want to do and to ask for help elsewhere. Or simply say you don't know what or how the user used your files so you can't support that. No need to get technical, it's not a button or a setting you have to enable in the forums. You just explicitly say that and draw the line. Edited September 30, 2024 by Just Don't 1
nehaberlan Posted September 30, 2024 Author Posted September 30, 2024 (edited) Off-Topic, but related to rude, impolite, disturbing people... There have been people make fun of people, humiliate, yell at them. Because of their posts that reply, the person, who gets the message from them, can go into depression, even commit suicide. These people have more than thousand, even ten thousand posts. Have they gotten any warning? Never... If someone goes into the depression or commits suicide, will they never feel responsible? I don't think so. Do you think that I'm exaggerating? I don't. I just write what they've done. If you don't trust me, just check their posts, and read them carefully. The danger is beyond me. There are lots of people around us, whose psychological condition is more fragile. What about our children? Teenagers? They are more fragile than adults. Nobody would like to kill sparrows. However, these people have killed hundreds of sparrows. (Sorry, just metaphor, maybe it sounds a little bit harsh)... My report request may not be reasonable for the moderators. It doesn't matter. I wouldn't like very extreme punishment for anyone too. I say, be more careful against this kind of people for everybody's sake. Edited October 1, 2024 by nehaberlan
