nehaberlan Posted September 22, 2024 Posted September 22, 2024 Hi, I want to share some problems that I had in LE and/or SE. I have been successful to solve the problems from time the time by the Technical Support's help. Sometimes, I googled. I couldn't get any result. Some problems have been really pain in the ass a.k.a. "P.I.T.A.". I can't put all of the answers at once in a day. One by one. Maybe, I can be helpful for beginners like me. Cheers...
nehaberlan Posted September 22, 2024 Author Posted September 22, 2024 First tutorial is about Skyrim SE... You want to use SKSE for SE. So you need the correct SKSE version. It's 2.0.20. skse64_2_00_20.7z It requires Skyrim SE 1.5.97 You can't directly download it from Steam. It's P.I.T.A. to get. Another thing. You installed Skyrim SE by using Steam. You have LOOT. You ran it. Loot says "The game is "Anniversary Version". You installed SE from Steam. Loot says it's AE... You installed SKSE. It wouldn't work with AE version probably. First, you have to download Skyrim Version 1.6.640 Instructions: 1. Open a command window on your desktop by pressing Win (your Windows key) and R together. A small console window should open. Enter this command: steam://open/console And press enter. This should open a console tab in Steam. Commands: download_depot 489830 489831 3660787314279169352 download_depot 489830 489832 2756691988703496654 download_depot 489830 489833 5291801952219815735 2. Copy, paste, and run each above command with its code one at a time (do not run all three at the same time). It'll state it's downloading something to your steam/steamapps/content/app_489830 folder. It should tell you itself where the files it downloaded went if it's somehow different for you. Wait until it says it's done (it may take a bit), then run the next command. Do this for all three until finished. 3. Navigate to the folder and you should see 3 folders labeled "depot_" with a bunch of numbers after them. Open these folders and place their contents to where your Skyrim Special Edition folder is (where the SkyrimSE.exe is). This will revert your game back to 1.6.640. Finally, delete these files from your Data folder: MarketplaceTextures.bsa _ResourcePack.bsa _ResourcePack.esl Then go to Unofficial Skyrim Special Edition Downgrade Patcher Scroll Down, find, download, install "BestOfBoth_1.6.640.0-1.5.97.0.exe". "Best of Both 1.6.640.0 to 1.5.97.0" is the only version that works. PS: You can create a Skyrim SE - Backup folder. In it, you can create a folder named "Skyrim SE - 1.6.640.0". Then, you can copy/paste "app_489830" folder in it. So, you can you is in future again. You won't need to download it from Steam's depot. One P.I.T.A. has gone.

nehaberlan Posted September 22, 2024 Author Posted September 22, 2024 (edited) If you want to use the correct version of Creation Kit SE for Skyrim SE 1.5.97, you probably need Creation Kit Downgrade Patcher. Unfortunately, it downgrades only from 1.6.438.0 to 1.5.73.0. So, another P.I.T.A. I suppose that you've already downloaded the last version of the Creation Kit SE. Download 1.6.438 Creation Kit with Steam console: You have to install Creation Kit in Steam download_depot 1946180 1946182 5099162879680505807 download_depot 1946180 1946183 1633303557398589581 1. Open a command window "Run" by pressing «Win + R» and then enter the command: steam://open/console, and then press Enter. Will open console tab on your Steam 2. On the bottom will have a space for you to enter the code. It will download the files to your "Steam\steamapps\content\app_1946180" folder. If you cannot find it, just search on the steam folder: "depot_1946182" and "depot_1946183" after download is done. 3. Replace your "steamapps/commom/Skyrim Special Edition" files (or wherever your Creation Kit) with the ones in "depot_1946182" and "depot_1946183". (after you can downgrade that to 1.5.73.0 with patcher if you need). PS: It will be nice if you make a copy of this "app_1946180" folder in your Skyrim SE Back-up folder for future use. You can copy in a new folder named such as "Creation Kit - 2.0 - 1.6.438.0". Edited October 6, 2024 by nehaberlan 2
nehaberlan Posted September 22, 2024 Author Posted September 22, 2024 If you use Creation Kit SE, or you just installed/run it, you probably noticed that there is a file named "Scripts" created by Creation Kit SE. When it has extracted, it creates a folder named "Source" under Data folder. In that "Source" folder, there is "Scripts" folder that has .psc files. Generally, it had to be like that: Data/Scripts/Source So, you can make a changing/editing in your CreationKit.ini or CreationKitCustom.ini PS: creationkit. ini is in you main "Skyrim Special Edition" folder. Same folder that SkyrimSE.exe is in. Fixing Creation Kit to Look in the Right Place Next, you have to tell Creation Kit to look for it's scripts in the right place. You do this by editing the CreationKit.ini file (or, if you have it, CreationKitCustom.ini) in the root of your Skyrim install folder. MO2 doesn't support this directly, so you'll have to edit it with Notepad++ or something. Look for the [Papyrus] section, or make one if it's not there. Add the line sScriptSourceFolder = ".\Data\Scripts\Source" You should end up with a Papyrus section which looks something like this: [Papyrus] sScriptSourceFolder = ".\Data\Scripts\Source" When you added this line, save the CreationKit.ini or CreationKitCustom.ini file, then exit.

Actually have a copy of the older version so I didn't need to. But the info is useful. Might be worth mentioning that the CK is not actually needed if one intends to only run a small mod list. But who stops there, lol? Edited September 22, 2024 by KoolHndLuke
nehaberlan Posted September 22, 2024 Author Posted September 22, 2024 You installed all necessary files, tools for your Skyrim 1.5.97, then you get CTD. One reason can be if you installed Alternate Start - Live Another Life - SSE. It requires: Skyrim Special Edition 1.6.1130 or greater. Unofficial Skyrim Special Edition Patch 4.3.0 or greater. If you check files, you can't find Skyrim SE 1.5.97 compatible version in there. So, another P.I.T.A. !!! Where to get that version? The compatible version is 4.1.4 You can get it from Nexus' archive. Here is the link: https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/272?tab=files&file_id=175926 Cheers... 1

nehaberlan Posted September 22, 2024 Author Posted September 22, 2024 Your keyboard doesn't respond in LE. If you have both LE and SE, your keyboard might not work in LE. However, your mouse does. Lots of methods didn't work for me. If you don't use any controller, there few things that may work: 1. Select your "SkyrimPrefs.ini" file in your "Documents\My Games\Skyrim Special Edition". Rename it as such as "SkyrimPrefs.ini_Original". Or, you can deleted it. Don't worry, when you restart Skyrim SE, it'll create a new SkyrimPrefs.ini again. 2. Select your "SkyrimPrefs.ini" file in your "Documents\My Games\Skyrim". Under the [MAIN], there is bGamepadEnable= Find "bGamepadEnable=" Change bGamepadEnable=1 to bGamepadEnable=0 Under that line, add this line bKeyboardEnable=1 So, it looks like that: [MAIN] bGamepadEnable=0 bKeyboardEnable=1 Save it. Start the Skyrim LE. Keyboard should work fine. Then, close LE. Open SE. Because it wants to make a new video settings again, do them, and close it. You can add the same lines in Skyrim SE's SkyrimPrefs.ini. If you have the same problem in the future, do the same things again. There is no cure for it. There are some other suggestions in the Internet, if you google it. However, they didn't work me at all. Cheers...
nehaberlan Posted September 28, 2024 Author Posted September 28, 2024 This thing is about Skyrim LE & SexLab LE. It's not P.I.T.A., but it's annoying. You/I have: SexLabFramework_v162_FULL FNIS Behavior 7.6 XXL FNIS Creature Pack 7.6 FNIS Spells V5.0.1 In the Rebuild & Clean part, there is a question mark next to "FNIS Creature Pack 5.2+". There is no more 5.2 version. Creature Pack has only 7.6 or 6.1. If SexLab really needs Creation Pack 5, where can you get it? If there is an update to fix this problem, where can you get it? Until now, I've ignored the problem. I had no problem. Here is a screenshot: The answer is: "It's fine, ignore it."
nehaberlan Posted September 28, 2024 Author Posted September 28, 2024 (edited) Another suggestions when you start a new game and it'll be better to have these commands: tgm Toggle God Mode (Grants infinite health, magicka, and stamina. Carry weight will never affect movement or fast travel.) tmm 1 It enables all the map markers, which allows you to fast travel to anywhere you want. player.modav carryweight X - Set Carry Weight For example... If you type like this: player.modav carryweight 10000 Your carry weight limit becomes 10,000. PS: I think, you won't need this if you use "tgm" command. player.additem 0000000f 100000 or player.additem f 100000 It adds 100,000 golds. You are the richest person in Skyrim. Here there are few websites that show all of Skyrim commands: https://www.ign.com/wikis/the-elder-scrolls-5-skyrim/PC_Console_Command_Cheats https://elderscrolls.fandom.com/wiki/Console_Commands_(Skyrim) Edited September 28, 2024 by nehaberlan

nehaberlan Posted September 29, 2024 Author Posted September 29, 2024 (edited) This P.I.T.A. is about Skyrim Project Optimization SE & Skyrim Project Optimization. Most of people use this tool. You want to create a patch for a vanilla home/tavern/inn, vanilla cell, etc... Then, you make some modifications on walls. For example, you remove the vanilla walls. You add doors, different walls, etc... When you play the game to test your mod, you get "invisible walls" momentarily. Something like that: I asked to the Technical Support. I got this response: As best as I understand how that mod works, is it puts in occlusion planes into interior cells, so that your computer won't render what is behind the plane. Once you get past the plane, your computer renders what is there. The theory is that this saves load on your graphics card by not making it work so hard. The problem comes into play when using modified interiors. If you have SPO, it puts the occlusion planes where it expects there to be a wall in vanilla interiors. If you have a mod that moves or deletes that wall, the occlusion plane from SPO is still there. Hopefully that makes sense. Another response from the Skyrim Project Optimization SE nexus page: "Essentially, the occlusion culling planes this mod adds are hidden within the walls of buildings. So all you need to do to ensure compatibility is to make sure you don't have any mods installed that alters the actual architecture of the buildings. " Actually, I'm confused by these responses. As I understand, SPO doesn't work with the modified walls. Will you have the same problem if you don't touch/change/modify any walls? Actually, I don't know. Maybe not. If you insist to make these modification, and accept to have this problem, you can add an "incompatibility warning" in the description part of your mod, then you can suggest people to deactivate SPO. Another thing to do is "start from scratch". I mean, create a new home/inn/tavern,etc... Then, make your all of your modifications freely. Maybe, there are another ways to eliminate this problem, but I don't know. Cheers... Edited March 11, 2025 by nehaberlan
nehaberlan Posted September 29, 2024 Author Posted September 29, 2024 Once, I got FNIS Error 2001. FNIS didn't work at all. I'm using NMM - Community Edition. I'm so stupid to use Mod Organizer or Vortex. NMM is much easier for me... I had several SLAL animations, FNIS, etc... I reinstalled again, and again. Nothing worked. Another P.I.T.A. Manually installing was suggested. That way worked. However, it wasn't the solution. Then, I checked FNIS files folders, animations folders. Files were missing. The problem was NMM. It didn't install the mods correctly. It was messed up. Then, I totally uninstalled NMM. I reinstalled it again. I had to add and install all mods again in NMM. That was the P.I.T.A. part. Finally, the problem solved, and the mods have been installed correctly.
nehaberlan Posted September 29, 2024 Author Posted September 29, 2024 Worst Case Scenario... Creating a Back-up folder is really important. In you hard disk, create a folder e.g. "Skyrim LE Back-up", if you have SE "Skyrim SE Back-up". What you can back up? The files/folders that you modified manually, or necessary to keep. Go to your "Documents\My Games\" folder. Open "Skyrim" and/or "Skyrim Special Edition" folder(s). In there, there are Skyrim.ini and SkyrimPrefs.ini Saves folder. You can copy them in your back-up folder. In your main folder, "Skyrim", in where there are TESV.exe and SkyrimLauncher.exe Steam\steamapps\common\Skyrim SkyrimEditor.ini, enblocal.ini, enbseries.ini In your main Skyrim Special Edition, in where there is SkyrimSE.exe Steam\steamapps\common\Skyrim Special Edition CreationKit.ini, CreationKitCustom.ini, enblocal.ini, enbseries.ini, binkw64.log You can back-up your SKSE.ini too. Data\skse In the Data\skse\plugins folder, you would like to back-up some files that you've made some modifications on like: CrashFixPlugin.ini Because, you probably changed "UseOSAllocators=0" to "UseOSAllocators=1". Your saved faces. "CharGen" folder, which is in SKSE\Plugins folder. I might forget other necessary files/folders probably. You know better. And of coarse, all of your mods' files... So... Your backing up is done. You tried to uninstall/reinstall the game via Steam. Your problem didn't solve. Another thing to do is going to the "Steam\steamapps\common" folder. "Skyrim" and/or "Skyrim Special Edition" is in there. Delete it/them. It will delete everything, every files and folders about the game permanently. Then, you can install the game and your mods again. If your problem still continues, the problem can occur because of Steam itself. You may need to uninstall/reinstall Steam. Warning: If you don't back-up your files/folders, uninstalling Steam can be your nightmare!!! Because, when you uninstall Steam, it deletes all of the files in Steam, and there is no way back. Then, install Steam again. That may solve your problem. It can take few days to restore to install all mods, make all adjustments for your game(s). It's really P.I.T.A.

nehaberlan Posted September 30, 2024 Author Posted September 30, 2024 As an alternative of "Creation Kit SE", you can try Unofficial Creation Kit Patch. In the "Old Files" part, there is SE version. Unofficial Creation.Kit Patch (v.5.1.0) SE
nehaberlan Posted September 30, 2024 Author Posted September 30, 2024 Yes, there are some rude, and/or disturbing people in LoversLab unfortunately. They are really P.I.T.A. What can you do? One thing to do is adding them in the Block list: https://www.loverslab.com/ignore/ You just copy his/her name, then add the name in there. LoversLab has to find the name. After that, you can select the ignoring options: Posts, Messages, Mentions, Signature, etc... Other thing to do is report him/her to the administrator(s). On the right side of the post of the person, who disturbs you, there is three dots. Click on it. You'll see "More Options". There are two options: Share, report. Click on "report". You'll get a pop-up. You can select from there the reason you want to report. And, you can write why you want to report him/her. Then, send it. If they find your request reasonable, they do something about it. Who knows? 1
nehaberlan Posted September 30, 2024 Author Posted September 30, 2024 You can be a beginner about modding just like me. Creating a home, an inn, a tavern, a follower, a merchant, an inn keeper is really P.I.T.A. You probably goggled "How to create bla, bla, bla skyrim", and/or you search "How to create bla, bla, bla skyrim youtube" also. Darkfox127 has very nice tutorials. Maybe, you found better tutorials too. Mostly, tutorials take around less than or around 1 hour. Don't expect that you can create your mod during the same period of time. It can take days, or weeks, or months. Just be patient. Step by step. Do not try to do at once. One by one. Never get disappointed. If you don't understand it, do not hesitate to ask to the technical support. Sometimes, you can't get the answer that you are looking for from the technical support. Continue to solve the problem by yourself. Enjoy with it. If you prefer to use watching tutorial from YouTube, I can suggest you to download them in your computer. To download, I prefer JDownloader 2. You may need this too. https://my.jdownloader.org/apps/ You can download subtitles too. Then, watch them. Do, the first part. You confused? Watch it again. Until you succeed. Save it. The next day, or following day(s), do the next part. You'll do mistakes. Lots of mistakes. This is how it works. You can learn my your mistakes. Good for you. Trial and Error. Another thing... Never compare yourself with the other modders. There are lots of modders have mods that have been downloaded more than 100,000 or a million. The import thing is creating a mod that works 100%. Share with people. Your goal has been achieved. If there is a viewer, it's great. If there is comment, it's better. If there is a download, it's the best. There is a life outside. Prefer to spend time with your loved ones. This is just a game. Cheers...
nehaberlan Posted October 6, 2024 Author Posted October 6, 2024 Another P.I.T.A. You can't compile in the Creation Kit SE. The main reason may be the scripts source folder setting in the CreationKitCustom.ini Make this changing, please: [Papyrus] sScriptSourceFolder=".\Data\Source\Scripts\" You installed the Creation Kit Scripts in Source\Scripts folder. If you copy/paste the same files in the "Scripts\Source" folder, then you have them in two different folders, what will happen? I asked this question, then I got this answer: You will end up with scripts in 2 locations and 2 weeks from now you'll be back here posting a question like "I edited a script and compiled it, but the changes don't show in-game. Why?". Don't copy the scripts, don't make this more difficult than it needs to be. Decide where you want to have your sources, and move all script sources there.
nehaberlan Posted March 11, 2025 Author Posted March 11, 2025 I Can't Take In-game Screenshots? You press F12, but you can't get screenshots. In some tutorial, they suggest to change screenshot key from F12 to another one like F11. It might work. Another option is using "Print Screen" button. Neither of them worked for me. You can try this: Open Steam and then click Steam > Settings > In-Game, and confirm there is a check mark in the box labelled "Enable the Steam Overlay while in-game". This method worked for me.
