I tried again and this time it was Nazeem scene. It said something like "failed to start animation" on popup and kicks me out of the dream. The popup appeared several times as I had to press the "ok" several times.

I have sexlab human animation remover installed so if you try to fire any animations that comes with sexlab those probably fail. Might be best to have like billyy animation pack as requirement and use animations from it by default or something.

Prize wife dream worked. Got another mod popup that asked if I want to use the furniture.

It might be good idea to add debug printing or if some SL debug helps to solve similar issues. Sadly it seems that there are dozens of mods that cause conflicts so technically best way to implement dream would be by own animation hack.  Or animation engine like ostim.

Sexy Adventures "Sleep Creep" does not start a SL animation... If you're getting one when sleeping it is another mod, like a dangerous nights mod or something.

To everyone saying that scenes are not loading for them and nothing happens or they get error messages, when you enter the dream, pause the game for 3-5 seconds and then resume. For me that always gets the scene going.

 

When I was doing the "Big Love" scene with the giant I had the SL Kidnapped Redux mod send some bandits to try to kidnap me before the scene could start. The giant fought them off while I just watched because I couldn't move. After a few minutes I got sent back to the awake world without a scene happening and then when I went back to the dream the bandits were still there but hanging around in the distance not close enough to distract the giant again. After the scene there is not enough time for me to go deal with these bandits and get rid of them for good. It appears they will be there permanently. It might help to allow the player to move both before and after the animation so they can take care of things like this or just if they want to choose where exactly the animation will take place.

 

There is also an issue with this mod and SL Tools and Animation Loader. Whatever creature you interact with first will freeze your animation list for SL Tools. For example, the first creature I interacted with was a Draugr from the Relic Hunter dream. I could see the right animation list during that scene using the Tool key. But when I went to the next dream/scene and was with something other than a Draugr, I could still only see scenes involving Draugr when I brought up the Tools list. This means I cannot change the positions/animations myself anymore. The scene/position that starts is what I get for the whole dream.

 

This carries over when you go back to the awake world and try to interact with real NPCs and animals as well. I was still seeing only Draugr animation options in the list even when sleeping with people. The only way to fix this is to save, exit back to the main menu and reload. When I come back everything is back to normal and I can interact with any people or animals in the awake world without the Tools list freezing. When I load another Fever Dream however, the same thing happens again...

 

Lastly, when the player returns to the awake world, do you think you could put the clothes back on? I don't mind the clothes staying off after the scene and until the dream ends, but I would like to automatically redress when I wake up.

 

Other than that, I have not had very many issues. Keep up the good work! I'm loving this mod!

Regarding undressing, I was thinking about adding this as an MCM option.

Regarding taking care of things, I think it is better you'll just use console commands. For example, you can use "enableplayercontrols" to enable player controls. To get rid of the bandits you can also target them in the console by clicking on them and write "kill" or even "disable".

There is a sexlab hotkey to reposition scene btw

Regarding SL Tools, weird. Maybe it happens because I delete the actors after the dream concludes? I will test.

Everything in this mod works the way it should for me, however I use sexlabtools to change scenes, and if I for instance load into a save, sleep, go through the ash hopper dream, wake up, start another scene with any NPC whether its in a dream or normally, unless I had previously went back to the main menu before hand, when I open the animation controller all the animations are for ash hoppers. Its still the proper animation for the scene, its just that the names will stay the same as the ones from the first fever dream that youve had until you go back to the menu and reload the save

Not sure if this has been mentioned here, but Deviously Cursed Loot events can somehow get triggered when you sleep with this installed. I had several times I got locked in full bondage gear while trying to sleep. As if I had opened a trapped door or something.
Also, can we get an option to disable all beastiality dreams? You can't exactly tell which dream is which by the names. The ability to choose a preferred gender to be paired with would be really nice. I love the mod idea, but these things are too much of a hassle to make it worth while for me. Still, I am excited to see what else come out of this!

There is sleep rape that does start SL animation. Thats what I was refering to.

One other thing that really bugs me is that the dream I got most now is the dremora one and in that the dremora keeps calling me master. 1) my character is female 2) if its not purpose of the event to have summoned thing coming at you then well.. The cell does not look like its one of your summons.

Regarding dremora calling you a master, isn't this modded? In any case, on my end I'll try to stop npcs from greeting you before the scene.

It might be good idea to add debug printing or if some SL debug helps to solve similar issues. Sadly it seems that there are dozens of mods that cause conflicts so technically best way to implement dream would be by own animation hack.  Or animation engine like ostim.

The entire left column of the dreams tab is just creatures/beastiality, as you can see by the "Creature" title. Disable the left column to not get any beastiality dreams.

Regarding deviously cursed loot, is this not expected behavior? I am not very familiar with the mod. My mod triggers only via the OnSleepStop() event, so I am not sure why it should affect other mods that according to you aren't supposed to fire during sleep.

After a while: Failed to start animation with player and actors.

The console says: [Sexlab] Thread[0] - FATAL - Failed to add actor -- They are not a valid target for animation.

This line should be in vanilla edition but the interval of the speech is somehow modded and I am not sure which mod modifies the interval of the greets. Its actually pretty annoying and I am not sure which mod makes it so frequent.

which dream was it? does it fail for all dreams?

are you using version 1_1_3_hotfix1?

I had a bug in "barbed bet" (a new dream) which i fixed in hotfix1, but other than that I didn't change the logic of other dreams from version 1.1.1. I slightly adjusted positions in "blood bond" and "prize wife"

Installed the update and last message I see before the fail is "registering for OnUpdate". I believe the sexlab error is in the log have no idea what "making state" actually means. Seems the FD has error though. Not sure if its because of the failed scene though.

After hours of trial and error ... I got this to work by disabling "Skyrim Souls RE" in my load order. Maybe that will work for you too if you are still having trouble.  Love the mod BTW.

Thanks, that's interesting. I'm not familiar with "making state" (or sexlab internals in general) either but will investigate. And yes, FD has an error due to the failed scene, because I call "Actors.Length" on a null array

That is the version of Tools I use as well.

 

I may have found something that will help you track the problem. I noticed that in a dream after the sex ends, you can still press the Tools key to bring up the list of animations/positions. Normally you should only be able to bring up that list while in a SL scene. While just walking around before or after that key should not do anything. I can never see this list if I press the key while walking around in the awake world, even after I come back from a dream. It only happens in the dream world.

 

When I do this I can only see the list for less than a second before I get kicked out of the dream and wake up. Normally, when I do not bring up the Tools list after sex, it takes about 10-20 seconds to wake up. How long is the PC supposed to stay in the dream after the sex ends?

 

I also noticed that after being forced out of the dream by the Tools list, I can interact with NPCs in the awake world with the Tools list being as it should be. So, it appears bringing up the Tools list in the dream will keep the list from carrying over into the awake world or any other dreams. However, you need to make sure you do this for literally EVERY dream if you don't ever want a freeze.

 

So to explain how I discovered this, I had a dream involving dwemer and I pressed the Tool hotkey after the scene ended just out of curiosity and was surprised to see the scene list pop up. In less than a second the list was gone and I woke up. I interacted with NPCs in my home and was surprised to see the appropriate human SL animations appearing in the Tools list. I went back to sleep and got paired up with a horse. I had the appropriate animation list during the scene and after it ended, I did not press anything and just waited and it took about 15 seconds to wake up. Afterwards I hooked up with my NPC friends again and I could see only Horse animations in the list.

 

I went back to the dream world, got paired up with another dwemer (a bigger one). While in a scene with that I could still only see horse animations in the list. After the scene ended I pressed the Tool key again and could still see the horse list before getting kicked out of the dream in about a second again. Then in the awake world I still had the same problem with being stuck with the horse list.

 

So, it appears that the scene in the dream never truly ends if you don't press the Tool key after the animation. If you don't end it that way, you're going to need to do the save, exit and come back routine to make it end.

 

EDIT: Maybe it has something to do with the PC not redressing right after the scene? Normally in my SL setup, the player undresses right before the animation is getting started and then redresses immediately after the animation ends. I'm playing with your latest version. On your first version the PC undressed fairly early and before the SL animation even started. Back then the PC also stayed undressed upon waking up. Now with the latest version, my character does not undress until the animation scene is getting started, but stays naked until the dream ends, then I have it set to redress upon waking up.

 

By any chance are you somehow extending the SL scenes in the dream world to keep the PC naked? Maybe it never ends? I'm totally just guessing here. I'm not a modder like you.

 

EDIT 2: I now realize that if you press the Tools key as soon as you enter the dream and before the interaction even starts, it will freeze/pause the game without showing the animations list. Hit your back button to unfreeze it and the scene will start. So, pretty much works just like pausing the game to get a scene going. I still cannot get scenes to get started if I don't use either of those methods.

I tried using the Move Scene Location from Sexlab in the dreams and each time the scene won't ever resume even after the 30 seconds. I see the notification up in the corner that the scene should resume in 30 seconds, but it never does... I can still keep moving and the characters I am with will either follow me or just stand around.

 

This never ends. I tried waiting over 5 minutes a few times but I always wind up having to reload an old save and try again. Pausing the game doesn't work like getting the scene started for the first time and pressing the Tools key doesn't wake me up like it usually does after an animation ends (although I still see the animation list). I can still move scenes around in the awake world no problem. So, it definitely works, just not with your dreams.

Hello, I tried your interresting mod and this are my findings (so far).

using SE and hotfix1 113

First I just added it to an existing game with way too many mods, it worked, if you start banging the escape and console keys.

So, to exclude a lot of mods which could interfere, I started a new game with very few mods.

Just using the alternative start, 'property breezehome', and start a sleep right there.

The mod gives two text dialogs. and then a black screen, I waited 3 minutes (hearing the new scene background sounds) and thought it is time to use the escape and console keys.

Having stripped most mods from this game, I wonder what mod(s) people are using who don't have a problem, maybe an external mod 'solves' these startup/delay bugs ?

When I start scenes with the sexlab matchmaker, animations start much faster.

I hope this information helps identifying the problem, the mod idea is interesting enough, but in its current state not very usable for me.

Thank you, that was very insightful. I was able to reproduce the problem on my machine. It seems like calling Game.DisablePlayerControls() caused the problem for me in this "stripped mod" version (who would've thought, and why the fuck an external mod was able to solve it?). I uploaded a new version as 1_1_3_hotfix2, can you take a look?
