Fever Dreams - Vaermina's Curse

The mod is very interesting, but I will note two points...

1 Sooooo long animation run, which is accelerated by opening/closing the console

2 The functionality of the first message box with four answers is unclear.

Sounds fun. I wonder if this interferes with Deviously Accessible's "Reality Show" quest which has similar popups twice during sleep. I guess I'm about to find out!

I have had a chance to try out a couple more dream sequences. First one was in Apocrypha with a Lurker. Scene aborted back to starting location after a long wait period for the scene to start and I was only able to control the camera in a limited capacity. Second one was in a cave with a couple of regular trolls. Started with limited camera control, but gained full movement control after a couple minutes. This scene never aborted. I quit out of the game.

I love the concept of the dream sequences, please continue working on this to iron out the bugs.

I am running the latest version of AE with the latest version of Sexlab.

Adding to the reports that sex scenes don't seem to work in dreams, I just get a black screen and no animations play (even with fade to black disabled in Sexlab), but I can hear NPCs and the game is still running fine. I'm on v1.6.640 using Sexlab Utility Plus

This is a rather creative mod, thanks! For now, I've exploring the available content by sleeping bit by bit while toggling off the scenes which I've seen as I go. Kudos for the helpful MCM configurations. :)

From my experience trying things out:
I'm running regular SL Framework (non-P+, which I've been told runs much more efficiently) and I notice the scenes/transitions happening very slowly.

Basically, with black screen setting in Fever Dream's MCM disabled, I could see my character (and the spawned NPC(s) for the scenes) happen to stand around a lot as though waiting for scripts to kick in. It's primarily noticeable just before and right after the player teleport happens.

With black screen enabled, it feels like it takes much longer too - though perhaps just from perception due to not being able to see anything).

HOWEVER, odd as it is, it also seems like opening/closing the console (even for just a brief second) seems to nudge/kick-start scripts for the various stages of characters teleporting, undressing, starting sex, etc.

Granted my game's script-bloat isn't the slimmest, but out of curiosity I've tested out starting a regular ole' SL anim with Matchmaker right after I'd returned to the "real world" bed following an FD scene, and that one starts surprisingly quickly - suggesting that only Fever Dreams' scenes struggle.

I understand it could simply be an issue on my end as I've got a huge modlist going on. Let me know if there's any form of testing I could help out with.

For added info: I've configured on the FD MCM to set cooldown to 0 and chance to 100.

I can't wake up. When I fall into a dream, a sex lab scene occurs. After which my character can move around the location. It doesn't return me to the real world. Waiting, time skipping doesn't help. And I also turned off the black screen, because when I fall into a dream it doesn't turn off, everything happened behind the black screen.

I tried testing some more. It's pretty weird. Sometimes sex scene works, sometimes it doesn't. More often it doesn't. Btw it's pretty funny after only a dream to wake up with a belly full of cum due to SLIF and Fill Her Up.

As for fighting, I meant that I can start hitting a mob, but it doesn't attack back, so it's fine. It takes a fighting stance, but doesn't attack back.

Uploaded verison 1.1. It uses multithreading to speed up animation kickoff, let me know if it helped.

Also some scenes shouldn't bug out anymore because of SL separate orgasms.

Do you have lurker animations installed?

Regarding trolls, might be a problem due to script lag as others were experiencing. Hopefully it is better in version 1.1 I just uploaded.

ASL SLSO sound

Sorry for slightly derailing the topic, but is this some sort of voice pack? I've been using SLSO for quite a while and I know it has a setting for voice packs but I was not aware there are any available. Could you toss a link if that is the case?

I just doublechecked in my game. I had all 3 creature types check-marked as enabled and registered.

I'll see how version 1.1 does. Thanks for the work.

1. I'm working on making it faster

2. It's just for roleplay

OK, tried a scene on version 1.1. I got a scene with Mjoll and Aerin in a Riften interior location (intro stated it was my character being more sexually free spirited with friends while indoors). Started just like before, no movement control, but regained movement control after a couple of minutes. Aerin did undress like Sexlab has characters do (optional setting in Sexlab I turn on) when a scene starts but that was it. I was unable to interact with anything (chairs, doors, food on tables). After about 6-7 minutes, it still hadn't aborted, so I quit out of the game.

What mods are you running for which sex animations fire?

Posted

The idea is good, but it doesn't work yet. The black screen is endless. If you turn off the black screen, the scene is visible, but nothing happens on it, the scene only starts if you open the system menu many times, in particular where you exit the game).

Alas, it did not help in any way.

Probably too many to list. Right off the top of my head

Arousal Based Matchmaker

SL Eager NPCs

SL Pleasure

SL Aroused Creatures

SL Solutions

Probably a couple others like yours. I keep playing the true game of modding Skyrim while playing and praying the game doesn't start acting goofy (haven't won yet). My load order is probably not the best of layouts and I am in the process of trying to organize everything.

I only have sexlab v165 from sex mods. There is nothing that would interfere with the process. There is one mod for hallucinations) Skyrim on skooma. There the flight is normal. And another one is unfriendly to scenes, it simply hates them True Directional Movement, but without it there is no point in playing.

Are you saying that without True Directional Movement it works?

Yes, I have some of those. I suspect it's just papyrus VM choking on my script.

I uploaded an experimental version that removes a heavy script function I use to check for MCM-enabled dreams. Can you see if it works? I also need you to enable/disable a single dream in the MCM before that.

Fever Dreams - Vaermina's Curse

There is another place I can try to save papyrus code in case this doesn't work, but I need to check some stuff. Does the dream "Blood bond" work with this version?

A big problem I am having is that I can't reproduce the error some are having, so I am not sure what mod/combination of mods is causing this. Current conjecture is it's just papyrus VM being overloaded

No, I didn't mean to say that. True directional movement doesn't affect the scene launch, only the movement in the scene, let's say if two objects are directed towards each other in the scene, then thanks to this mod they will never meet). That's its only downside. Therefore, it's better not to disable the launch of the teleport to the sexlab with this mod, the actors will start wandering around, but not to the bed or to each other, in the end the sexlab will still forcibly teleport them where necessary, but it's better to enable the teleport right away.

I love that this is pretty much THE perfect Daedric mod lore wise.  So, my questions to our fellow gamers and mod author, because there are so many mods that hook into our characters' sleep/dream events.  Offhand, I am thinking of (as others had mentioned) Bimbos of Skyrim; Fertility Mode and any additional fertility modules.  The others I am curious about is Sanguine's Debauchery; Hormones (which was the precursor of Bimbos of Skyrim); Toys along with SHOUT Like a Virgin.  Also, not sure if Sandow Muscle Growth may also have some issues.  Bottom line, I think we have so many mods that typically tie in to resting that we may need some patches or a way to set timers.

Is there any way for the mods to fire one after the other ends?  Not cancelling an Event but somehow having them recognize, pause and then execute after the other completes.  Example, Hormones complete, then Fertility mode updates, then Sandow, Toys, Shout, Vaermina Fever Dream, then Sanguine's Debauchery, etc.  I have a feeling many of the CTDs that some are posting about are most likely due to other mods competing in the background.

I am still in a current playthrough so haven't been able to install and play through this mod yet, just something to consider with many of our mods imo.

I don't know if this will help you, but the events are triggered by opening and closing the console. If you don't do this, the actors will stand and look at each other forever.

You can't go to some locations without a console either. By the way, missing animations don't affect the event in any way. The actors are also standing, but if you open and close the console, the sexlab will write that the necessary animations are missing and the hero will be sent home without problems. The problem is apparently in the sexlab, without a kick in the form of opening / closing the console, it does not start the animations☹️

Yes, it's why I am conjecturing it's the papyrus VM. Because when you open the console the VM gets a chance to catchup without the game running in the background

I think the best step for me would be finding a bunch of mods that reproduce this error. Then I could do some trial-and-error in code to see if I can bypass it

Tried this. I disabled all dreams except "Blood Bond". Scene started like normal, PC disrobed and then just idled. I opened and closed the MCM menu a couple times, but did not access any specific menu option. The scene aborted a lot quicker than last time. It gave me a couple error messages stating "Couldn't start scene with Vampires" and "Couldn't start scene with actors". Scene aborted back to starting location. The whole scene probably only took 2 minutes max and that includes the wait time after initiating the sleep timer (which was 9 hours worth of the timer going down to 0).

Also, the only other mod that I have that has a option for sleep interrupts is Interesting NPC's, I believe. I don't think that would trip on this run though, as the way it is set up, it will only activate with followers and allies that have a high relationship. I am very early in my current run and haven't built up my relationship with Sofia to trigger the SLEN option for the "happy wakeup surprise" or whatever it's called.

I'm using it on the latest GOG version with P+ and it works fine.

The only little gripe I have is that controls are disabled in dreams.

It makes sense narratively but is quite annoying I find.

There is one other issue that I fear is out of your control but I'm mentioning it anyway.

You can get impregnated in dreams if you have a pregnancy mod installed.

I noticed there was an error in the plugin, and then that there were a bunch of "edited" vanilla cells that weren't actually edited.

I fixed the error (removed the VMAD on the Aetherium forge duplicate) and ran an xEdit quick auto clean on the plugin.

I also forwarded some location name edits from USSEP.
