I can not believe they postponed the CK release date for the showcase. Only to spend 2 mins on a teaser for an already announced DLC. Release date TBD. And then spent 30 seconds glossing over the actual news. What is new in the Kit? Are there any exciting mods we can expect when it drops? Is there even one exciting new thing that might entice mod authors to want to replay the game and build stuff? [crickets] The showcase: Spoiler Edited June 9, 2024 by kaxat
Omaker Posted June 9, 2024 Posted June 9, 2024 even though i was disappointed at the base game im exited to have a sci fi game to mod the hell out of for once instead of more fantasy ones especially since with planet maps and space we can have basically an infinite amount of custom location mods 1
VenomousOuroboros Posted June 9, 2024 Posted June 9, 2024 (edited) Bethesda was hoping to conjure up newfound interest and enthusiasm. They didn't. It's on the modding community - the animators, quest writers, the ones who can break a game out of its shell - to show that there's potential here. Any newfound enthusiasm is going to come from them. All we can do is hope that they have enough motivation and faith to pull it off. ...that, and encourage them every chance we get. Edited June 9, 2024 by VenomousOuroboros

Guest Posted June 10, 2024 Posted June 10, 2024 Now I can spend 15 hours creating the star wars quest I wrote down, this is my first time touching a creation kit.
Omaker Posted June 10, 2024 Posted June 10, 2024 loving the possibility of the first open sandbox star wars game thatll probably have every era in one
fred200 Posted June 10, 2024 Posted June 10, 2024 If you are familiar with Skyrim or Fallout CreationKit, you are all set. I literally can not see any differences in the UI. Starfield source scripts are in tools/ContentResources.zip. This is packed incorrectly; put the .psc files in Scripts/Source. (my opinion) Modify the ini files per usual for paths.

zaira Posted June 10, 2024 Posted June 10, 2024 But the CreationKit Documentation site is still offline - lots of new concepts - everything undocumented. 3
fred200 Posted June 10, 2024 Posted June 10, 2024 (edited) Lots of new concepts - like star and planet creation - but if your interest is followers, interactions, scenes and Quests - not much has changed. Dive in - and try it. Edited June 10, 2024 by fred200
South8028 Posted June 10, 2024 Posted June 10, 2024 Guys, do you have any tools with CK? Are there tools for 3ds? nif exporter, hct...
Akzyra Posted June 10, 2024 Posted June 10, 2024 There is a "BGS_Starfield_ArtTools_1.0.0.3" installer, which seems to be a plugin or similar for 3dsMax 2021. Other tools: Archive2 for BA2 Icon Generator INIs, no idea, probably a CK feature Papyrus Compiler SQLite tools VS Code Papyrus Extension a wwise project, lots of .wwu files (audio) RoboVoicer.exe, text to speech, same as https://dev.to/adbertram/how-to-convert-text-to-speech-with-powershell-2227 1

A person on the nexus has already messaged me. Now it makes sense to install Starfield. It was very unwise of bgs to release Starfield initially without ck and tools. They lost a lot of players. For bgs games, the tools are more important than the games themselves.

I read this as 2011 at first, and was equal parts shocked yet unsurprised... Anyway, I'm very happy to see the CK finally out. I won't have time to dig in, but looking forward to updates here and abroad. Maybe I'll even finally learn Blender!

The very cheapest 3DSMax Indie is $300 a year. Makes Blender look pretty good.
snoopy102 Posted June 10, 2024 Posted June 10, 2024 Quote Where is all the excitement? It got paralyzed by stunned silence at the sight of the first BGS "Creations" paid content ... a 15 minute quest for 7 Euros. HORSE ARMOR ALL OVER AGAIN!

The Companion and Conversation bits has been changed.
