IncogACC Posted 14 hours ago Posted 14 hours ago Here's a little hint for all of you struggling right now, different fix tools don't tend to work well together, so if you're still trying to fix mods, keep this in mind: Download a FRESH copy of the mod BEFORE you run the Moonholder fix If Stable textures/TSR is an option, DON'T use it unless you actually know what TSR is and why it's useful If you are using TSR, use notepads replace function to replace "this = Resource" with ";this = Resource" which will turn off all texture hash replacements and let TSR alone take over If you're still getting issues on 3.X characters WITH TSR then it's 'cus whatever fix tool you used didn't add the materialmap in which case you have to do it yourself. If you can't figure out how, then don't use TSR simple as that. 4 hours ago, phantoxxx said: Could you tell me where I should add code like "Resource\RabbitFX\Lightmap = ref ResourceTextureX" to resolve this issue? Thanks! I need to know what you tried to do. Did you apply TSR via the fix tool? Or did you just update hashes? If this is the result of just updating hashes, then you'll need to add TSR lines under "TextureOverrrideComponent2", but if you picked a TSR option, then you'll need to disable standard textures to let TSR take over fully, so replace "this = Resource" with ";this = Resource" to comment out all of the old texture hash replacement lines. There are multiple ways to end up with the issue you have and without knowing exactly which way it's been fucked up, I can't know exactly how to fix it. 1

That means it's either your graphics settings, your XXMI settings or a conflict with another mod. Does the face break when the Cartethyia mod is the ONLY mod in your mods folder? If yes then it's a conflict and you'll have to find the conflicting mod and deal with it. Do you have LoD bias set to ultra high? I assume you do based on the screenshot and the fact that it's only the face that broke, but worth checking. Make your XXMI settings look like this: Granted due to the loss of forcing Texture LoDs I don't think XXMI settings matter anymore, still worth trying. Add this line to [SystemSettings] in engine.ini "r.Streaming.HiddenPrimitiveScale=40" The mod itself isn't broken, it's probably your settings or a conflict. Good luck.

IncogACC Posted 10 hours ago Posted 10 hours ago 39 minutes ago, Iran0utofnames said: is it the same fix for every mod or different? If the mod has both TSR AND updated texture hashes, then the lightmaps will clash causing the hair and sometimes face to change colour, for those mods you can disable the TSR lightmap line and it will "fix" it, though the better solution is to just disable all standard hash based texture replacements 'cus that's the entire fucking point of using TSR to begin with. Commenting out the TSR lightmap line puts you in a weird half-step between using TSR and just using normal hashes, so the mod will break again if texture hashes are changed, vs doing it properly and disabling texture hash replacement which will allow TSR to do its thing so the mod won't break if hashes change. If you want the fast solution, then just comment out the TSR lightmap lines and deal with the potential consequences later.

yuukino9 Posted 7 hours ago Posted 7 hours ago (edited) 20 hours ago, IncogACC said: It's a lightmap issue, either you're replacing the lightmap multiple times or loading the wrong texture to the lightmaps texture slot. If you're using TSR, then disable all standard texture replacements in the ini, you can do that easily by using notepad and replacing "this = Resource" with ";this = Resource". TSR will fully take over and you won't have any texture clashes. If you don't understand ANY of what I just said and don't know what a "TSR" is then redownload the mod from scratch and just use the Moonholder fix, it's not worth wrestling with Woju fix if you don't need to. ASSUMING that this mod is using TSR, then it's not explicitly a bug with RabbitFX, but some kind of conflict with standard texture hash replacement. Chances are this is just TSR's behaviour and there won't be a fix, since TSR is supposed to be used as the standalone texture replacement solution, not in conjunction with texture hashes. Either way, very fixable since it's just some kind of overlapping lightmap issue, you find the duplicated lightmap application for comp 2 and delete it so only one method, be it hash based texture replacement or TSR is the sole method for loading the lightmap. i see ty woju fix broke many mods for Phrolova/zani i had to redownload it to work again edit wasn't wujo fix it was stable texture fix broke it Edited 7 hours ago by yuukino9
IncogACC Posted 6 hours ago Posted 6 hours ago (edited) If you're trying to fix Denia mods, for the love of your own sanity DO NOT use TSR... Current RabbitFX has several blind spots, things that Rabbit can't test or otherwise just missed like Moryne's eyes and comp 4 texture slots. One of these is Dania's ult form, she actually swaps texture slots during her ult for some reason while also introducing effect maps as well, none of which is covered by TSR right now, so if you're trying to apply TSR to a Dania mod, you have to use an ult detector and manually flip the resources when she ults. IF there happens to be some brave and equally stupid soldier who, like me, is applying TSR to all their mods including their Dania mods, here's the cheat-sheet to help you out. Diffuse and Normal are shared between both forms, so you can just use TSR lines to apply them and no condition is needed unless you're swapping diffuse texture. ps-t1 = Lightmap ps-t3 = Materialmap ps-t5 = Glitter effect (You'll probably want to just set this to null most of the time) ps-t6 = Effectmap (This is for her unique ult glow effects, so you can also set this to null I think) It'll end up looking something like this: And as a reminder, this is for comp 2 of the base body. I know that fucking no one other than me here is crazy enough to actually go the distance with applying TSR to everything, but on the VERY off chance that someone else is, I don't want them to have to go through the PAIN and SUFFERING I've had to troubleshooting all this shit. I'm at my breaking point, please send help before I actually jump off a bridge Edited 6 hours ago by IncogACC

The issue is resolved. I tested the four possible scenarios you mentioned one by one and finally discovered a conflict between mods. The problem occurs whenever I place RabbitFX V8.1 into the MOD folder.

It's definitely the way to go 100%. Better performance and faster loading times from removing all of the unnecessary Texture replacement blocks Immunity to texture hash changes No/Reduced texture loading delay when swapping characters Doesn't rely on texture LoDs Isolates only the necessary textures so garbage left in from the dump can be disposed of cleanly to reduce filesize by potentially huge amounts (I've had mods go from like 500mb down to less than 100 after cleaning out the junk) That's more than reason enough for me to update my whole library, but being on the end where you're having to actually manually apply it is kinda painful if you don't know what you're doing. If you didn't know that Denia's texture slots changed during her ult, and that TSR isn't built to account for that yet, you could spend like an hour just stumbling around blind trying to figure out why your mod still has broken looking textures. That was me until I figured out which slots are for what and after that, once I actually knew what I was doing fully, it got a LOT easier. It's little things that like that which make the 3.x characters and the multiple part characters annoying to deal with, 'cus the fix tools ain't well enough designed to account for it so it's a repeated process of bashing my head against a wall until I understand the unique character specific behaviours and can move on smoothly from there. It's for those reasons that I don't recommend TSR even if it's absolutely the right way to go, it needs some time for Rabbit to iron out the issues and for the fix tools to have the right edge cases programmed into them so they don't leave the layman mod users confused as to why their mods weren't fixed after pressing the fix button. Very few mod users are actually gonna go and fix anything themselves, so I'd sooner recommend the easier option that's less likely to fail for them.

Baby mode it is then. How to fix your stupid TSR mod after the Woju "fix" fucked it all up. This is a component block with TSR lines: If your mod has these inside of it, then it has had TSR applied to it. If you DON'T want to use TSR, then you can just delete those lines, that's it. This is what standard texture replacement looks like. This is what every mod comes with by default. If you have BOTH of these (TSR and standard), then you're going to run into problems, the point of TSR is that it replaces standard texture replacement. If you want to use TSR, then you have to comment out the resource calls like this: Spoiler You can do that easily in notepad by pressing Ctrl+H and putting in the following: That will turn off ALL standard texture replacement blocks, which means that TSR can function without competing with standard texture replacement. If you're still having issues with TSR even after turning of standard texture replacement and your character came out during 3.X (Any character after Lynae including Lynae herself) then you'll have to add the Materialmap TSR line yourself, blame Woju fix for being trash. Your TSR block will look something like this, with only 3 resource lines: Copy one of the resource lines and paste it below the normal map line, then change it from "Normalmap" to "Materialmap" Now you have to go find your Materialmap. Look at the component number for the block you're working on, lets say component 3: Go open your textures folder and in the searchbar at the top of the window, search the number 3. This will show only textures with 3 in the name which will include ALL of the component 3 textures and probably some extra bits we don't care about. Materialmaps have 3 different "styles" The black with a little bit of grey, this is the most common type. The all black square, not as common but lazy modders do this. The weird black and white one, quite rare. A good hint is that they're usually jpgs whereas most textures are usually dds, if you see a jpg black square then it's probably the materialmap Once you've found your Materialmap for your component, copy the name of the file and search it in the mod ini using Ctrl + F. That will take you to a Resource block: This Materialmap is texture number 19, the last step is to plug that number into your TSR materialmap line: And wham bam your mod works now. Congratulations!... Unless you're Hiyuki, or Denia, or Moryne, or any of the other annoying characters with character specific fix requirements that the mod fixers weren't programmed to handle in which case you should just give up on TSR.
