Are you just going to spam this until you get an answer? Don't be that guy, it's literally the day before the patch so the only people here are the ones waiting to doom over mods breaking, no one is gonna answer about getting mods right now...

For real, though.

Also, looks like the WUWAMODSTOREHOUSE group was nuked by Telegram's ToS violations. Damn.

Banned immediately? I don't get it, there was nothing there except the ToS violation.

Well, they implemented a security measure a while ago that requires you to quickly solve a sum of numbers; if you don't or make a mistake, you get banned.

I ran a few tests.

So, either they actually changed the hash values for all the characters...

Or the launcher just needs an update to load them correctly again.

You can see the rover there—they really put a lot of work into it again XD. That means it definitely needs the fix tool run on it 100%^^

That was the only one that didn't look like a total mess XD

So all the map hashes got changed, I don't want to hunt like 100 and whatever hashes again so I'm just straight up changing the TextureOverride system to fuzzy matching instead in the hopes that I can pin down the loading screens from a single texture override block. The problem is that I'm new to this and it's very hard for me to wrap my head around and since this is one of my public mods, it kinda takes priority over the usual UI stuff I maintain here.

Point is, I might be late on getting the UI mods fixed 'cus I'm doing something more important.

Edit: I am going to find the nearest sky scraper to jump off of.

Didn't work, turns out a few UI assets have 100% exact matches with the loading screen, including the map for some reason, and due to the draw order I can't create a seamless condition to isolate the two meaning fuzzy matching doesn't solve my problem and I now have to go spend my entire day collecting hundreds of loading screen hashes 'cus Kuro thought it'd be funny to change them all.

Like fr, it must be so nice just being a normal ass character modder, Moonholder fix and tool devs do your fuckin' job for you.

I think it's a little bit of both

I just logged on to check, and F Rover once again was completely vanilla, meaning all her hashes changed
Cartethyia, Camellya and Verina all loaded their modded meshes but not their textures, so hopefully that's a universal fix via the launcher

On the other hand—and this is just a wild guess—maybe their way of reducing the game size by 20GB was finding a better compression method for textures, which could mean that almost all the texture hashes changed. This may be the case since fading out the character by looking up/getting the camera too close doesn't temporarily fix the texture issues like it has in previous patches.

Possibly good news though: flying didn't make the models revert back to vanilla, so there's a chance the LOD fix isn't broken—and that's probably the most important in the longer term

As I expected, just give it a couple days for the launcher and Mod Fixer to be updated, and I bet we'll be fine
We've got great people working on this stuff :)

and the "crazy" people saying Koru is trying to stop modding might be right in this case lol

on a series note, this can go two ways, least to my thinking, this could be for the better, LOD or Hash might no longer be changed after every update as if it IS true that they are trying to compress everything, this might mean they only have a few changes per update instead of an entire line of problems so they just need to update the textures when when they need to. However, if the "Crazies" are right, they might see that what ever they did worked, so they might do it every major update until the mod community gets too annoyed and stops trying... really hope its not the second as to be honest, most might stop playing and modders will stop buying if that's the case.

Hopefully its just one major update to update everything and to help optimisation, maybe they heard the complaints that their last few updates wasn't so optimised like the rest, at least for my old PC what actually was able to run the game at 60 frames before the LOD major changes a few Events back, might update this if it is actually better lol

If I spend any more time on WuWa, my apartment is actually going to turn into an active volcano and I will turn into a piece of charred human shaped meat.

UI fixes, loading screen fixes, portrait fixes are all gonna have to wait a day or two because I'd like to not get heatstroke.

I'm currently fixing the portrait mod, it just a hash problem. So i'll fix all the characters I can and give you a list of the new hashes to help you with that.

EDIT : Here what i could get from hunting, hope it will save you a bit of time.

v3.5 portrait hashes.txt

To be honest, I doubt it's an intentional attack on mods. They specifically said they were reducing the game file size by 20GB, so I expected tons of stuff to break due to some sort of file restructuring. What kind of impact the update has on actual moment-to-moment performance and FPS is something we'll continue to see going forward.

Like I said, I have a feeling we'll be good to go in a couple days when the tools are fixed. I also hope they stop messing with LODs of course, but ironically if we ran out of workarounds and had to resort to copying down to lower LODs, it might actually help performance for all of us who play with mods, since everything that isn't modded wouldn't be forced to render high LODs at such a long distance.
