Also just to heads up, if anyone's having a problem with invisible armor which means the proc is not working correctly, deleting the folders ( Files, SkyProcDebug ) and the old proc plugin you have then creating a new one fixed the problem for me.

 

The folders can be found in : overrite>skyproc patches>SKArmorPatcher if you're using MO.

The mod is fantastic! The only thing I want to know is how to make the kids equip armor. I tried to put armor on my son, but he just ended up naked.

 

The only problems I have to report is that the child's head does not match the skin tone of the body, the body being a significantly lighter shade. Also, is there a way to edit the child's faces? I've used the Alternate Avatars mod to try and edit their faces, but the kids still have really strange looking faces.

It sounds like you didn't install SkyKids correctly. In order:

 

-If children don't quip armor, then you failed to run the SkyProc patcher, or if you are trying the new SKSE version, you either don't have SKSE installed and are running from it, or you placed the .dll file's location incorrectly.

-The skin tone mismatch is commonly referred to as the "grey face bug". Most likely you have another mod making changes to the vanilla NPCs that SkyKids edited set lower in your load order than the SkyKids plugin. If you aren't already using it, download, install, and run LOOT to automatically sort your load order correctly.

I ran the SkyProc patcher until it closed itself. But I can try that again and run Loot.

I haven't had any issues with adopted kids wearing armor or any kids for that matter wearing armor.

 

If you're using the SkyProc Patcher version of SkyKids, then you need to make sure the patcher is at the bottom of your load order and if you're using BOSS, you need to make sure the armors in question are recognized plugins, so the patcher will patch them.

 

Though I suggest to stop using the SkyProc Patcher version and upgrade to the newer version of SkyKids. It uses SKSE to patch all armors and hairs automatically, so no need to run the patcher or use patches anymore.

 

So delete the SkyProc Patcher folder for SkyKids, clean out any old SkyProc data (in your My Games in Documents, there is a Skyrim folder and it has a SkyProc folder in there too), and then go download the new update to SkyKids here. I'm also trying to fix that "grey face" error, where my kid's head appears lighter than her body. Well, I installed the newest version of sky kids, deleted all the skyproc files I could find, and was still unable to equip armor to the children

I have no idea on the pregnancy stuff or soul gem stuff, as I don't use any of that so not sure if that would cause issues or not. As for the Eyes of Beauty and Apachii Hair patches, you don't need those anymore with the new version of SkyKids. And you shouldn't have an SK Child Armor Swapper anymore either, as that's part of the old SkyProc Patcher, which you don't need anymore if you are using the new SkyKids with the SKSE plugin.

 

So first off, get rid of the Apachii Hair and Eyes of Beauty and Child Armor Swapper as those are no longer needed (you are using the new version of SkyKids now yes? If so, you don't need those plugins anymore as it is all automatic now).

 

Then work on the soul gem/pregnancy stuff and disable them one by one to see if the problem fixes itself. As I've never used them, I couldn't tell you if they are causing the issue or not sorry.

 

Hopefully that helps somewhat in getting you started on solving this issue.

Just a quick FYI, but you do unfortunately still need the eye mod patches. Due to the way eyes are setup in skyrim it would be incredibly difficult to have them patched automatically.

My entire load order is below. I have found a folder within the Meshes folder titled "skykids-armorswap" and within the data folder I found a SK Armor Swapper.esp file. Should those be deleted since you said the SK Child Armor Swapper should be deactivated?

 

Also, I can't seem to even find what mod that is in NMM so it can be deactivated. All I can do is uncheck the plugin.

 

And if you see anything that could cause that "grey face" glitch, let me know.

If you look in BYOHRelationshipAdoptionChildScript.psc you'll see that adopted kids can only wear certain types of clothes, these are the gifts I'm talking about.

 

I just give them dolls and daggers as gifts.

Yeah I know about those clothes, and how through the gifting menu, you can only give them children clothes. But regardless of that, you can still equip them with regular armors and clothes via the console if you wanted. That was my point. Just using the additem and equipitem command via console works just fine. Of course it won't let you gift them a full set of say Steel armor, cause the game doesn't recognize that as a proper gift for a child. But there is nothing stopping you from using the console to give them what you want instead.

Don't delete the armor swap folder. It contains the armor meshes for the children. But you can delete the armor swapper esp like I mentioned already. Since you're not using the SkyProc patcher anymore, you don't need that esp at all. The SKSE plugin in the newest update that I linked to you earlier does all that automatically now. So delete the armor swapper esp.

 

My second question is, are you actually playing a child character, or are you just using SkyKids to replace the children NPCs in the game? If you're not actually playing a child character, you don't need all those race files. You just need the main SkyKids.esm if you are just using it as a replacer (and of course the npc replacer esps).

 

Otherwise, I am unsure what else could be the issue. I'm not very tech savvy when it comes to this stuff, and I don't recognize most of the plugins you have sorry. So my help is very limited, but hopefully one of the others can point you more in the right direction. Your best bet is to start on the slow process of disabling mods that affect children one by one and see if it fixes the issue. Then check your other custom races that you have and see if they might be overwriting something as well (since SkyKids is a custom race on it's own as well).

I tested it with 1.7.3, and there is no difference from 1.7.2 or 1.7.1.

I'm using SkyKids along with the hentai pregnancy mod for immersion. Yes, I want to mainly just replace the kids and I don't actually play as the child races. However, I want to change my kids appearance because they always look weird to me when born. Like, their faces don't look child like at all. So that's why I use the monli plug in.

 

I'm a redguard and so is my wife, but my monli daughter has the skin tone of a nord. I mainly wanted to make her skin darker using alternate avatars since I saw no alternatives. All that did was activate the "grey face" glitch, where her face would not match her body's skin tone.
