Which ENB do you use?

Bleak ENB. Somehow to me it feels like Game of Thrones.

Tried every other ENB from nexus, I always come back to Bleak.

I really like Bleak ENB because it doesn't oversaturate everything and make interiors look like someone threw a bucket full of orange paint around but it's almost too bleak.

I tried Somber ENB Lut Sepia (all three) and it looks amazing...until you get in an interior cell with a fireplace because it has the "orange paint bucket" issue.

Still trying to find the right one (cba to make one myself) which would probably be something between Bleak and Somber ENB.

Maybe is just me but Bleak ENB gives me a Dark Souls esque vibe, which is pretty awesome :P

What's a good ENB to use with real girls textures? I'm using K enb and it makes the facial features a little too defined. Maybe you can share some of your tweaks Shermie? Your characters always look so good

Omg, are you kidding? I just went to download the kountervibe enb and it's removed from nexus.

God damn.

It will be up shortly, Kyo is updating Kountervibe and Kenimatic.

Sweet thanks for letting me know, I hope the same is true for "Dat Grass"

Currently I am using Realvision ENB

But I also have mistvale: Summer ENB, Polo ENB

Can't decide wether to swap out yet cause I am pretty happy with the look so far.

out of the 81 presets I've gone through over the last year or 2 (have them all sitting in a folder), ProjectENB .119 was my favorite. As the ENBs progressed and the preset didn't, I did what I could to update it myself, but it was never the same. So K ENB, The Wilds, Syngery 1.3, and Unreal Cinema were what I used to fill the void and take advantage of the new effects. I'm back to ProjectENB, slightly tweaked.

I've been using Project ENB, even without CoT. Instead I made personal adjustments to it.

Mistveil is also really good, I liked Autumn and Winter.

I was using Sharpshooter's for awhile, but I think Project has it beat.

Sometimes I switch out ENB Palettes I found on the enbdev site by Skullsaber(google it). My favorites were James Cameron Lite, James Cameron III, and Grindhouse.

EDIT: Combined with ELFX of course. I stopped using RLO because it just started to look really bad to me.

I've tried most of the major presets and have them all set up in ENB Manager. I'd give honorable mentions to Project ENB, Somber, Realvision, Seasons of Skyrim,True Vision and most recently, Saraan Suum (makes skin textures really pop). Somber is I guess my ideal palette though I find bloom is a bit OTT, Project ENB was great performance wise (especially on 0.119, 0.2x not so much) and I stuck with it until I ditched CoT and ELFX.

Every ENB I've tried has given me ass pain of one sort or other, I can never seem to get all the boxes ticked. Unbleak is probably the least demanding when running the latest binaries, or so I've found, and it doesn't stray too far from the vanilla palette. I run the performance tweaked preset with everything on and rarely get below 30fps, which given my crappy PC setup is  almost miraculous.

I use Somber which was quite awesome for awhile but I starting to get bored of it, I mean it looks great as long as you are outdoors and the sun is shining, but I cant see sh*t in dungeons and at night because of that bright overlay it adds (whatever its called, and yeah I am using the dark dungeons for enb). Also I lost 15fps when updated Somber for the 235 enb, i have no idea why.

In my opinion, comparing Bleak and Somber, I feel Somber is far superior. Bleak has a grainy feel and feels even darker at nights. I used Somber for a good 4 weeks until I got bored like you. Nice screenshots by the way. :)

I am currently using Saraan Suum and I get amazing FPS even when not having performance downloaded. The loading time is a little annoying but aside from that, there isn't much to complain about. I guess the dungeons and interiors aren't exactly ideal which is why I am still looking for a ENB that properly suits me.

Modified version of Cute ENB, game looks great and FPS drops are not high.

Mine now...

PROJECT ENB Realistic Edition + CoT (+addons) + ELE + ELFX + SweetFX

I'm using SweetFX's HDR for monitor calibration to make the image brighter than the default setting, and some other effects like Dither.

Nice shots, good work.

I'd say Somber's my ideal ENB style wise and I'd still be using it if I didn't have the same problem you did. The last couple of updates have seen me go from marginal 30ish fps out mid-40s in, to as low as 22 out and 30 in, and I can't even consider running any SSAO with it any more.

Opeth has been good to me past times and has been my second favourite preset, but after a recent reinstall of the game I just can't get it perfoming like I used to since it was updated for 0.236. It's really frustrating because I'm terrible at tweaking ENBs so I'll probably never get to the bottom of why. Even tried stripping out most of my HD textures, but it had little or no effect. It seems my setup just doesn't like ToD.

So I've fallen back on Saraan Suum performance for now which is a bit of a screenshooting killer. It's big strong point is the grittiness due to the vanilla friendly palette and sharpness which shows off skin and armor textures nicely, and a nice DOF setup too. But I get a lot of jaggies with it and those load times do suck. So despite enjoying FPS that rarely drops below 30 anywhere and gets as high as 50 indoors, I'm not convinced.

The search for the Goldilocks ENB goes on.

Someone asked about a good ENB for real skin textures so I thought I'd try to show what I've found. These comparison skinny dipping shots taken at about 6:30am on the same overcast day illustrate what I've found to be relative strengths/weaknesses of Opethfeldt7 and Saraan Suum, both of which I generally find pretty good performers:

Opeth:

What I like about this is the fairly authentic overcast weather/early morning vibe. The water is pretty close to how I remember hot springs I've visited in different places, kind of milky, slow and silty where it's so heavy with minerals. The thing is I'm really into skin textures that make me want to feel them; moles, shaving stubble, bumps and imperfections, love all that and to me it's as important as any landscape, more so in some ways. And that's Opeth7's  only major weakness. Most of that lush realism is lost because of the lack of sharpness and clarity. On the plus side it's very forgiving and that's really good for losing neck and hand seams.

Saraan Suum:

ScreenShot91.jpg

I couldn't find a more closely similar shot  that didn't involve these two scissor sisters pleasuring each other. Also, I'm using the non-ELFX version that doesn't currently have Time of Day support Opeth has.  Even so, I don't think the idea of mineral rich, hot and eggy smelling spring pools surrounded by muddy flats is conveyed very well, water looks too scrubbed, like a fast moving river might. But the sharpness means that in almost every screenshot I take with it, the skin detail is how I like it, and close shots are awesomely detailed, so much so that the Real Girls normal face maps turn out almost too defined around the mouth and nose. But you can see every pore, stretch mark and goose bump. But that sharpness in my experience means jaggies, and I seem to get them with both quality and performance versions, especially brightly lit distance shots suffer.  And if you've got any seams, they'll inevitably show up and any stretching of textures is accentuated.

I was using Poupouri, and was fairly happy with the colors and performance, but didn't like how the DoF was far too intense and "snapped" in and out of focus, which was really distracting. I switched to Saraan Suum a few weeks ago and have been extremely impressed with it so far. Very friendly to vanilla color palettes, like Poupouri was, but with more and much better effects - yet barely a performance difference between them (that I can tell). It doesn't do twilight transitions as well as I'd like, and my eyes "glow" a bit - but otherwise it's one of the better "playable" ENBs I've seen.

Mind, my rig isn't that powerful, so I don't have a lot of the texture and model assets needed to really show off what the ENB can do.
