Which ENB do you use?

I've been going back and forth to Saraan Suum performance since it was released, it's missing some significant stuff but it also does things with the latest binaries that a lot of older updated presets don't seem to manage. It has a gritty cinema-like look, emphasis on sharpness and quite a subdued palette. It does skin textures very well, really brings out the little details.

Someone was saying about ENB putting a layer of dirt on everything and I know what they mean, but that's what I like funnily enough, the dirtier and grittier the world is, the happier I am.

Currently I'm using sharpshooters. Its my first go around with it and I've been pleased with just one exception and maybe some of you will have some feedback on it. For the life of me, I can not get the in game menu to work. Ive heard that such cases have been reported but are rare. I've tried to remap the key-mapping in ENBSeries (or was it enblocal), but still no worky.

Anyone ever see that before or know of a workaround?

Ok so I managed to get ENB working, and am trying Project ENB CoT now. But I had to reduce my graphics from 1600x900 down to 1280x720 to be able to maintain 20fps. I had to disable most of the advanced features of ENB to prevent it from CTD the moment I tried to enter a game. Now my questions are 1)Is it possible using the injector version rather than wrapper version could let me use more/better effects? 2)Do you guys know any good enb ini tweaks I may want to try? 3) Come February, I should be able to put around $200 or so into upgrading this computer. So what do you think I should try to upgrade?

Video card from present

Geforce GT 630 with 2Gb ddr3 ram to something like a

MSI N660 TF 2GD5/OC GeForce GTX 660 2GB 192-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 x16 HDCP.

or maybe CPU from present

i3-3240 @3.40 Ghz 3mb cache and 2 cores/4 threads to a

i5-3570 @3.40 Ghz 6mb cache and 4 cores/4 threads

Or I could upgrade from Windows Vista to Windows 7 since I refuse to even consider Windows H8te!

If you start messing with your ini you prolly end up screwing your game more then you want to.

Only take advice from known experts. I dont mean those who advice you are ill will but many don't know what there saying or based on there own system which offcorse is different from your system.

Google some about ini and guides for skyrim.

Use boris ENB for lower specs pc's you will be much happier.

Ask for technical in tech section:)

Tell me what you guys think before I release it. These are teaser shots, I need to take more and get it ready. I will be releasing it here on LL as well as on Nexus.

I think many people who love colours would like this.

I however, like the more 'moody' enb's like Winterhearth, Bleak, etc.

Love the effects tho! :)

I had a few testers who also told me my colors were to vibrant. I've reworked it. Note that in the Screen Shots attached I am using a mod called " Summer in Skyrim " where it is, well, always Summer in Skyrim :P This effects the brightness levels and other users not using this mod will not see daytime as bright as in my screenshots.

Attached are a FEW screens of my new ENB WiP. You can find more in my blog ( see link in my sig ).

What do you guys think?

Hi guys,

I have a question about ENBs i'm hoping someone knowledgable can assist with:

I'm currently using Sharpshooter's Original, which uses a horribly outdated version of Boris' ENB.

I use it because, in my opinion, it looks incredible - but also because I can use 8x AA with it to keep things crisp.

Newer ENBs require AA to be turned off - and the various substitutes they employ don't seem to yield the same results.

Am I missing something here? Is it possible to have a new ENB with better-than vanilla AA?  Or is this a trade-off that needs to be made.

I welcome any advice!

Later iterations of ENB seem to handle AA much better. A lot of preset authors used to be reluctant with using newer versions of ENB when hardware AA looked much better to whatever was out at the time. Now you never really see anyone talking about it since ENB AA isn't horrendous anymore, and is probably as good as 4x hardware AA if I had to guess.

I use a modified version of Enhanced Shaders FX. I've tried a lot of them and it's one of a few that don't cause my loading screens to be 4x longer. I've got a fast computer with a SSD and those long loads are still painful in certain places like Whiteun. The newer ones (those that use enblocal) all do this and apparently is has something to do with Enboost according to the developer's post. The older ones like Enhanced shaders or Stakdo's don't prolong the loading screens for me.
